- Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,
- Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
- There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.
- And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.
- And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.

- 부활이 없다고 주장하는 사두가이파 사람들 몇이 예수께 와서 물었다.
- "선생님, 모세가 우리에게 정해 준 법에는 형이 결혼했다가 자녀 없이 죽으면 그 동생이 형수와 결혼하여 자식을 낳아 형의 대를 이어야 한다고 했습니다.
- 그런데 칠 형제가 살고 있었습니다. 첫째가 아내를 얻어 살다가 자식 없이 죽어서
- 둘째가 형수와 살고
- 다음에 셋째가 또 형수와 살고 이렇게 하여 일곱 형제가 다 형수를 데리고 살았는데 모두 자식 없이 죽었습니다.

- Last of all the woman died also.
- Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
- And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
- But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
- Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

- 나중에 그 여자도 죽었습니다.
- 이렇게 칠 형제가 다 그 여자를 아내로 삼았으니 부활 때 그 여자는 누구의 아내가 되겠습니까?"
- 예수께서 이렇게 대답하셨다. "이 세상 사람들은 장가도 들고 시집도 가지만
- 죽었다가 다시 살아나 저 세상에서 살 자격을 얻은 사람들은 장가드는 일도 없고 시집가는 일도 없다.
- 그들은 천사들과 같아서 죽는 일도 없다. 또한 죽었다가 다시 살아난 사람들이기 때문에 하느님의 자녀가 되는 것이다.

- Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
- For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
- Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.
- And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.
- And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?

- 모세도 가시덤불 이야기에서 주님을 가리켜 '아브라함의 하느님, 이사악의 하느님, 야곱의 하느님'이라고 불렀다. 이것으로 모세는 죽은 자들이 다시 살아난다는 것을 분명히 보여주었다.
- 이 말씀은 하느님께서 죽은 자의 하느님이 아니라 살아 있는 자의 하느님이시라는 뜻이다. 하느님 앞에 있는 사람들은 모두 살아 있는 것이다."
- 이 말씀을 듣고 있던 율법학자 몇 사람은 "선생님, 옳은 말씀입니다." 하였고
- 감히 그 이상 더 묻는 사람이 없었다.
- 예수께서 또 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "사람들이 그리스도를 다윗의 자손이라고 하는데 그것은 어떻게 된 일이냐?

- And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
- Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
- David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?
- Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,
- Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;

- 다윗 자신이 시편에서 이렇게 읊지 않았느냐? '주 하느님께서 내 주님께 이르신 말씀,
- 내가 네 원수를 네 발 아래 굴복시킬 때까지 너는 내 오른편에 앉아 있어라.'
- 다윗이 이와 같이 그리스도를 주님이라고 불렀는데 그리스도가 어떻게 다윗의 자손이 되겠느냐?"
- 예수께서는 모든 사람이 듣고 있는 데서 제자들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
- "율법학자들을 조심하여라. 그들은 길다란 예복을 걸치고 나다니기를 좋아하고 장터에서 인사받는 것을 즐기며 회당에서는 높은 자리를 찾고 잔치에 가면 윗자리에 앉으려 한다.

- Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
|
- 그리고 과부들의 가산을 등쳐먹으면서도 기도만은 남에게 보이려고 오래 한다. 이런 사람들이야말로 그만큼 더 엄한 벌을 받을 것이다."
