- Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
- And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
- Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
- And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
- And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.

- 무교절 곧 과월절이라는 명절이 다가왔다.
- 대사제들과 율법학자들은 백성들이 무서워서 예수를 어떻게 죽여야 탈이 없을까 하고 궁리하고 있었다.
- 그런데 열두 제자 가운데 하나인 가리옷 사람 유다가 사탄의 유혹에 빠졌다.
- 그는 대사제들과 성전 수위대장들에게 가서 예수를 잡아 넘겨줄 방도를 상의하였다.
- 그들은 기뻐하며 그에게 돈을 주겠다고 약속하였다.

- And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
- Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
- And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
- And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
- And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.

- 유다는 이에 동의하고 사람들 몰래 예수를 잡아줄 기회를 노리고 있었다.
- 드디어 무교절의 첫 날이 왔다. 이 날은 과월절에 쓰는 어린 양을 잡는 날이었다.
- 예수께서는 베드로와 요한을 보내시며 "가서 우리가 먹을 과월절 음식을 준비하여라." 하고 이르셨다.
- 그들이 "어디에다 차리면 좋겠습니까?" 하고 묻자
- 예수께서 이렇게 지시하셨다. "너희가 성안에 들어가면 물동이를 메고 가는 사람을 만날 것이다. 그 사람이 들어가는 집으로 따라 들어가서

- And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
- And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
- And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

- 그 집 주인을 보고 내가 제자들과 함께 과월절 음식을 먹을 방이 어디 있느냐고 묻더라고 하여라.
- 그러면 그 집 주인이 이층의 큰 방 하나를 보여줄 것이다. 그 방에 자리가 다 마련되어 있을 터이니 거기에다가 준비를 하여라."
- 이 말씀을 듣고 제자들이 가보니 과연 예수께서 말씀하신 대로였다. 그들은 거기에다 과월절 음식을 차렸다.
