- And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
- Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
- For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
- And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
- And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.

- 그리고 사도들에게 "내가 너희를 보낼 때 돈주머니나 식량 자루나 신을 가지고 가지 말라고 했는데 부족한 것이라도 있었느냐?" 하고 물으셨다.
- "아무것도 부족한 것이 없었습니다." 하고 그들이 대답하자 예수께서는 "그러나 지금은 돈주머니가 있는 사람들은 그것을 가지고 가고 식량 자루도 가지고 가거라. 또 칼이 없는 사람은 겉옷을 팔아서라도 칼을 사 가지고 가거라.
- 그래서 '그는 악인들 중의 하나로 몰렸다.' 하신 말씀이 나에게서 이루어져야 한다. 과연 나에 관한 기록은 다 이루어지고 있다." 하셨다.
- 이 말씀을 듣고 그들이 "주님, 여기에 칼 두 자루가 있습니다." 하였더니 예수께서는 "그만 하면 되었다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 예수께서 늘 하시던 대로 밖으로 나가 올리브 산으로 가시자 제자들도 뒤따라갔다.

- And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
- And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
- Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
- And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
- And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

- 예수께서는 그 곳에 이르러 제자들에게 "유혹에 빠지지 않도록 기도하여라." 하시고는
- 돌을 던지면 닿을 만한 거리에 떨어져서 무릎을 꿇고 기도하셨다.
- "아버지, 아버지의 뜻에 어긋나는 일이 아니라면 이 잔을 저에게서 거두어주십시오. 그러나 제 뜻대로 하지 마시고 아버지의 뜻대로 하십시오."

- And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
- And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
- And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
- But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
- When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?

- 기도를 마치시고 일어나 제자들에게 돌아와 보시니 그들은 슬픔에 지쳐 잠들어 있었다.
- 이것을 보시고 예수께서는 제자들에게 "왜 이렇게들 잠만 자고 있느냐? 유혹에 빠지지 않도록 일어나 기도하여라." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 예수의 말씀이 채 끝나기도 전에 무리가 떼를 지어 열두 제자 중의 하나인 유다라는 사람을 앞세우고 나타났다. 유다가 예수께 입맞추려고 다가서자
- 예수께서는 "유다야, 입을 맞추어 사람의 아들을 잡아 넘기려느냐?" 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 예수와 함께 있던 제자들은 일이 어떻게 벌어질 것인가를 알고 "주님, 저희가 칼로 쳐버릴까요?" 하고는

- And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
- And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
- Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
- When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

- 그 가운데 한 사람이 대사제의 종의 오른쪽 귀를 내리쳐 떨어뜨렸다.
- 그러자 예수께서는 "그만해 두어라." 하고 말리시며 그 사람의 귀에 손을 대어 고쳐주셨다.
- 그리고 잡으러 온 대사제들과 성전 수위대장들과 원로들을 향하여 "칼과 몽둥이를 들고 나를 잡으러 왔으니 내가 강도란 말이냐?
- 내가 매일 너희와 함께 성전에 있을 때에는 잡지 않더니 이제는 너희의 때가 되었고 암흑이 판을 치는 때가 왔구나." 하셨다.
