- And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
- The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
- Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
- Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
- In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.

- 그 때에 예수의 제자들이 돌아와 예수께서 여자와 이야기하시는 것을 보고 놀랐다. 그러나 예수께서 그 여자에게 무엇을 청하셨는지 또 그 여자와 무슨 이야기를 나누셨는지 물어보는 사람은 없었다.
- 그 여자는 물동이를 버려두고 동네에 돌아가 사람들에게
- "나의 지난 일을 다 알아맞힌 사람이 있습니다. 같이 가서 봅시다. 그분이 그리스도인지도 모르겠습니다." 하고 알렸다.
- 그 말을 듣고 그들은 동네에서 나와 예수께 모여들었다.
- 그러는 동안에 제자들이 예수께 "선생님, 무엇을 좀 잡수십시오." 하고 권하였다.

- But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
- Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
- Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
- Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
- And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

- 예수께서는 "나에게는 너희가 모르는 양식이 있다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 이 말씀을 듣고 제자들은 "누가 선생님께 잡수실 것을 갖다 드렸을까?" 하고 수군거렸다.
- 그러자 예수께서는 "나를 보내신 분의 뜻을 이루고 그분의 일을 완성하는 것이 내 양식이다.
- 너희는 '아직도 넉 달이 지나야 추수 때가 온다.' 하지 않느냐? 그러나 내 말을 잘 들어라. 저 밭들을 보아라. 곡식이 이미 다 익어서 추수하게 되었다.
- 거두는 사람은 이미 삯을 받고 있다. 그는 영원한 생명의 나라로 알곡을 모아들인다. 그래서 심는 사람도 거두는 사람과 함께 기뻐하게 될 것이다.

- And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
- I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
- And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
- So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
- And many more believed because of his own word;

- 과연 한 사람은 심고 다른 사람은 거둔다는 속담이 맞다.
- 남들이 수고하여 지은 곡식을 거두라고 나는 너희를 보냈다. 수고는 다른 사람들이 하였지만 그 수고의 열매는 너희가 거두는 것이다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 그 동네에 사는 많은 사마리아 사람들은 그 여자가 자기의 지난 일을 예수께서 다 알아맞히셨다고 한 증언을 듣고 예수를 믿게 되었다.
- 예수께서는 그들이 찾아와 자기들과 함께 묵으시기를 간청하므로 거기에서 이틀 동안 묵으셨는데
- 더 많은 사람들이 예수의 말씀을 듣고 믿게 되었다.

- And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

- 그리고 그 여자에게 "우리는 당신의 말만 듣고 믿었지만 이제는 직접 그분의 말씀을 듣고 그분이야말로 참으로 구세주라는 것을 알게 되었소." 하고 말하였다.
