- After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.
- And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.
- And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
- And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
- When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

- 그 뒤 예수께서는 갈릴래아 호수 곧 티베리아 호수 건너편으로 가셨는데
- 많은 사람들이 떼를 지어 예수를 따라갔다. 그들은 예수께서 병자들을 고쳐주신 기적을 보았던 것이다.
- 예수께서는 산등성이에 오르셔서 제자들과 함께 자리잡고 앉으셨다.
- 유다인들의 명절인 과월절이 이제 얼마 남지 않은 때였다.
- 예수께서는 큰 군중이 자기에게 몰려오는 것을 보시고 필립보에게 "이 사람들을 다 먹일 만한 빵을 우리가 어디서 사올 수 있겠느냐?" 하고 물으셨다.

- And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
- Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
- One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,
- There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
- And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

- 이것은 단지 필립보의 속을 떠보려고 하신 말씀이었고 예수께서는 하실 일을 이미 마음속에 작정하고 계셨던 것이다.
- 필립보는 "이 사람들에게 빵을 조금씩이라도 먹이자면 이백 데나리온 어치를 사온다 해도 모자라겠습니다." 하고 대답하였다.
- 제자 중의 하나이며 시몬 베드로의 동생인 안드레아는
- "여기 웬 아이가 보리빵 다섯 개와 작은 물고기 두 마리를 가지고 있습니다마는 이렇게 많은 사람에게 그것이 무슨 소용이 되겠습니까?" 하고 말하였다.
- 예수께서 그들에게 "사람들을 모두 앉혀라." 하고 분부하셨다. 마침 그 곳에는 풀이 많았는데 거기에 앉은 사람은 남자만 약 오천 명이나 되었다.

- And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
- When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
- Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.
- Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
- When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

- 그 때 예수께서는 손에 빵을 드시고 감사의 기도를 올리신 다음, 거기에 앉아 있는 사람들에게 달라는 대로 나누어주시고 다시 물고기도 그와 같이 하여 나누어주셨다.
- 사람들이 모두 배불리 먹고 난 뒤에 예수께서는 제자들에게 "조금도 버리지 말고 남은 조각을 다 모아들여라." 하고 이르셨다.
- 그래서 보리빵 다섯 개를 먹고 남은 부스러기를 제자들이 모았더니 열두 광주리에 가득 찼다.
- 예수께서 베푸신 기적을 보고 사람들은 "이분이야말로 세상에 오시기로 된 예언자이시다." 하고 저마다 말하였다.
- 예수께서는 그들이 달려들어 억지로라도 왕으로 모시려는 낌새를 알아채시고 혼자서 다시 산으로 피해 가셨다.

- And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,
- And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.
- And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.
- So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
- But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

- 그 날 저녁때 제자들은 호숫가로 내려가서
- 배를 타고 호수 저편에 있는 가파르나움으로 저어갔다. 예수께서는 어둠이 이미 짙어졌는데도 그들에게 돌아오지 않으셨다.
- 거센 바람이 불고 바다 물결은 사나워졌다.
- 그런데 그들이 배를 저어 십여 리쯤 갔을 때 예수께서 물 위를 걸어서 배 있는 쪽으로 다가오셨다. 이 광경을 본 제자들은 겁에 질렸다.
- 예수께서 제자들에게 "나다, 두려워할 것 없다." 하시자

- Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.
|
- 제자들은 예수를 배 안에 모셔 들이려고 하였다. 그러나 배는 어느새 그들의 목적지에 가 닿았다.
