사도행전 26:1-26:32

 아그립바 앞에 선 바울은 다메섹에서의 회심 체험과 그리스도의 십자가와 부활, 그리고 이방 선교의 타당성에 대해 조리 있고 담대하게 설명하였다. 결국 아그립바와 베스도는 그에게 무죄를 선언하였다.
  
  아그립바 앞에서의 변론(26:1-26:23)    
 
  1. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:
  2. I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:
  3. Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.
  4. My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;
  5. Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
  1. 그러자 아그리빠 왕이 바울로에게 "해명할 말이 있으면 해보아라." 하고 허락하였다. 바울로는 손을 앞으로 뻗치며 해명하였다.
  2. "아그리빠 전하, 유다인들이 저를 고발한 모든 일에 대해서 제가 오늘 전하 앞에서 해명하게 된 것을 다행으로 생각합니다.
  3. 전하께서는 유다인들의 관습에 정통하시고 그들이 문제 삼는 점들을 잘 알고 계시니 더욱 다행한 일입니다. 아무쪼록 제 말씀을 끝까지 들어주시기 바랍니다.
  4. 저의 젊은 시절의 생활 곧 제가 처음부터 동족들과 함께 지내던 일과 예루살렘에서 지낸 모든 일은 유다인들이 다 잘 알고 있습니다.
  5. 그들은 제가 우리 유다교 가운데서 가장 엄격한 바리사이파 사람으로 살아왔다는 사실을 전부터 잘 알고 있습니다. 그들이 마음만 있다면 이 사실을 증언할 것입니다.
  1. And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:
  2. Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.
  3. Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?
  4. I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
  5. Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.
  1. 지금 제가 여기에 서서 재판을 받고 있는 것도 하느님께서 우리 조상들에게 주신 언약에 희망을 걸고 있기 때문입니다.
  2. 우리 열두 지파는 밤낮으로 오로지 하느님을 섬기면서 그 언약이 이루어지기를 바라고 있습니다. 전하, 저는 바로 그 희망 때문에 유다인들에게 고발을 당하고 있습니다.
  3. 하느님께서 죽은 자들을 살리신다는 것을 왜 믿을 수 없는 일로 돌려버리는지 모르겠습니다.
  4. 사실은 저도 한때는 온갖 힘을 다해서 나자렛 예수를 대항해야 한다고 생각하고
  5. 예루살렘에서 그 일에 손을 댔었습니다. 저는 대사제들에게서 권한을 받아가지고 많은 성도들을 감옥에 처넣고 그들을 처형하는 일에 찬동하였습니다.
  1. And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.
  2. Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
  3. At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
  4. And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
  5. And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
  1. 그리고 회당마다 찾아가서 그들에게 여러 번 벌을 주어 강제로 신앙을 부인하게 하려고 하였습니다. 그들에 대한 분노가 극도에 달해서 저는 심지어 이방 여러 도시에까지 찾아가서 그들을 박해하였습니다."
  2. "이런 일로 저는 대사제들에게서 권한과 위임을 받아가지고 다마스쿠스로 내려가게 되었습니다.
  3. 그런데 전하, 제가 그리로 가다가 한낮에 하늘에서 번쩍이는 빛을 보았습니다. 그 빛은 해보다도 더 눈부시게 번쩍이며 저와 저의 일행을 두루 비추었습니다.
  4. 저희는 모두 땅에 엎드렸습니다. 그리고 히브리 말로 '사울아, 사울아, 왜 나를 박해하느냐? 가시돋친 채찍에다 발길질을 하다가는 너만 다칠 뿐이다.' 하는 음성을 제가 들었습니다.
  5. 그 때 제가 '당신은 누구십니까?' 하고 물었더니 주께서는 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. '나는 네가 박해하는 예수다.
  1. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
  2. Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
  3. To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
  4. Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
  5. But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
  1. 자, 일어나 바로 서라. 내가 나타난 것은 너를 내 일꾼으로 삼아 네가 오늘 나를 본 사실과 또 장차 너에게 보여줄 일들을 사람들에게 증언하게 하려는 것이다.
  2. 나는 너를 유다인들과 이방인들에게서 구해 내겠다. 그리고 다시 너를 이방인들에게 보내어
  3. 그들의 눈을 뜨게 하여 그들을 어둠에서 빛으로, 사탄의 세력에서 하느님께로 돌아가게 하겠다. 그리하여 나를 믿고 죄를 용서받아 성도들이 차지할 몫을 나누어받게 하려는 것이다.'"
  4. "아그리빠 전하, 그 때부터 저는 하늘로부터 받은 계시를 거역할 수가 없어
  5. 우선 다마스쿠스 사람들에게, 그 다음은 예루살렘과 유다 온 지방 사람들에게, 나아가서는 이방인들에게까지 회개하고 하느님께 돌아와서 회개한 증거를 행실로 보이라고 가르쳤습니다.
  1. For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
  2. Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
  3. That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
  1. 제가 이런 일을 했다고 해서 유다인들은 저를 성전에서 붙들어 죽이려고 하였습니다.
  2. 그러나 저는 하느님의 도우심을 받아 낮은 사람에게나 높은 사람에게나 제가 믿는 바를 증언하면서 오늘에 이르렀습니다. 저는 예언자들과 모세가 예언한 것 외에는 가르친 것이 없습니다.
  3. 곧 그리스도는 고난을 받고 죽은 자들 가운데서 제일 먼저 부활하여 이스라엘 백성과 이방인에게 구원의 빛을 선포하실 분이라는 것입니다."
 
  무죄 판결(26:24-26:32)    
 
  1. And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
  2. But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.
  3. For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.
  4. King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
  5. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
  1. 바울로가 이렇게 해명하자 페스도는 큰소리로 "바울로, 그대는 미쳤구나! 아는 것이 너무 많아서 미쳐버렸구나!" 하고 외쳤다.
  2. 그러자 바울로는 이렇게 대답하였다. "총독 각하, 저는 미치지 않았습니다. 저는 맑은 정신으로 진실을 말씀 드리고 있습니다.
  3. 아그리빠 왕께서도 이런 일들은 잘 알고 계시기 때문에 저는 거리낌없이 그분께 말씀 드리고 있는 것입니다. 이것은 어느 한 구석에서 일어난 일이 아니니 전하께서 모르실 리가 없습니다.
  4. 아그리빠 전하, 전하께서는 예언자들을 믿으십니까? 저는 전하께서 믿으시는 줄로 알고 있습니다."
  5. 그러자 아그리빠 왕이 바울로에게 "그대는 그렇게 쉽게 나를 설복하여 그리스도인으로 만들 수 있다고 생각하는가?" 하고 말하였다.
  1. And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
  2. And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:
  3. And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.
  4. Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.
  1. 바울로는 이렇게 대답하였다. "쉽게든 어렵게든 저는 전하뿐 아니라 오늘 제 말을 듣고 있는 모든 사람이 다 저와 같은 사람이 되기를 하느님께 빕니다. 물론 이 쇠사슬만은 제외하고 말입니다."
  2. 그 때 왕을 비롯하여 총독과 베르니게와 그 밖에 자리를 같이했던 사람들이 다 일어나서
  3. 퇴장하였다. 그리고 서로 "그 사람은 사형을 받거나 갇힐 만한 짓을 하지는 않았군." 하고 말하였다.
  4. 아그리빠는 페스도에게 "그 사람이 카이사르에게 상소만 하지 않았더라면 석방될 수도 있었을 텐데요." 하고 말하였다.
