- For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
- Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
- For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
- Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
- Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

- 하느님의 진노가 불의한 행동으로 진리를 가로막는 인간의 온갖 불경과 불의를 치시려고 하늘로부터 나타납니다.
- 사람들이 하느님께 관해서 알 만한 것은 하느님께서 밝히 보여주셨기 때문에 너무나도 명백합니다.
- 하느님께서는 세상을 창조하신 때부터 창조물을 통하여 당신의 영원하신 능력과 신성과 같은 보이지 않는 특성을 나타내 보이셔서 인간이 보고 깨달을 수 있게 하셨습니다. 그러니 사람들이 무슨 핑계를 대겠습니까?
- 인간은 하느님을 알면서도 하느님으로 받들어 섬기거나 감사하기는커녕 오히려 생각이 허황해져서 그들의 어리석은 마음이 어둠으로 가득 차게 되었습니다.
- 인간은 스스로 똑똑한 체하지만 실상은 어리석습니다.

- And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
- Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
- Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
- For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
- And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

- 그래서 불멸의 하느님을 섬기는 대신에 썩어 없어질 인간이나 새나 짐승이나 뱀 따위의 우상을 섬기고 있습니다.
- 그 때문에 하느님께서는 사람들이 자기 욕정대로 살면서 더러운 짓을 하여 서로의 몸을 욕되게 하는 것을 그대로 내버려두셨습니다.
- 사람들은 하느님의 진리를 거짓과 바꾸고 창조주 대신에 피조물을 예배하고 섬겼습니다. 그러나 영원히 찬양을 받으실 분은 창조주이십니다. 아멘.
- 인간이 이렇게 타락했기 때문에 하느님께서는 그들이 부끄러운 욕정에 빠지는 것을 그대로 내버려두셨습니다. 여자들은 정상적인 성행위 대신 비정상적인 것을 즐기며
- 남자들 역시 여자와의 정상적인 성관계를 버리고 남자끼리 정욕의 불길을 태우면서 서로 어울려서 망측한 짓을 합니다. 이렇게 그들은 스스로 그 잘못에 대한 응분의 벌을 받고 있습니다.

- And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
- Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
- Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
- Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
- Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

- 인간이 하느님을 알아보려고도 하지 않았기 때문에 하느님께서는 그들이 올바른 판단력을 잃고, 해서는 안 될 일들을 하게 내버려두셨습니다.
- 그래서 인간은 온갖 부정과 부패와 탐욕과 악독으로 가득 차 있으며 시기와 살의와 분쟁과 사기와 악의에 싸여서 없는 말을 지어내고
- 서로 헐뜯고 하느님의 미움을 사고 난폭하고 거만하며 제 자랑만 하고 악한 일을 꾀하고 부모를 거역할 뿐더러
- 분별력도, 신의도, 온정도, 자비도 없습니다.
- 그런 모양으로 사는 자는 마땅히 죽어야 한다는 하느님의 법을 잘 알면서도 그들은 자기들만 그런 짓들을 행하는 게 아니라 그런 짓들을 행하는 남들을 두둔하기까지 합니다.
