- Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
- Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
- Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
- If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
- I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

- 여러분 중에서 누가 다른 교우와 분쟁을 일으켰을 때에 어찌하여 성도들 앞에서 해결하려 하지 않고 이교도의 법정에 고소합니까?
- 여러분은 성도들이 세상을 심판하게 되리라는 것을 모르십니까? 온 세상을 심판하게 될 여러분이 지극히 작은 사건들조차도 심판할 능력이 없다는 말입니까?
- 우리가 천사들까지도 심판하게 되리라는 것을 모르십니까? 그런 우리가 이 세상에 속한 사소한 사건을 심판할 수 없겠습니까?
- 그런데 이런 사건이 생길 때 여러분은 어찌하여 교회가 멸시하는 자들을 재판관으로 앉히는 것입니까?
- 이런 말을 듣고도 부끄럽지 않습니까? 여러분 가운데는 교우들 사이에 생기는 분쟁을 해결해 줄 수 있을 만큼 지혜로운 사람이 하나도 없다는 말입니까?

- But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
- Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
- Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
- Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
- Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

- 그래서 교우가 교우를 소송하고 더구나 예수를 믿지 않는 사람들의 재판을 받아야 한다는 말입니까?
- 여러분이 서로 법정에 고소한다는 것은 벌써 여러분이 완전히 지고 들어가는 것입니다. 차라리 억울한 일을 그대로 당하는 것이 어떻습니까? 또 사기를 그대로 당하는 것이 어떻습니까? 왜 그렇게 하지 못합니까?
- 여러분은 도리어 서로 억울하게 하고 속여먹습니다. 더구나 교우들끼리 그런 짓을 하고 있습니다.
- 사악한 자는 하느님의 나라를 차지하지 못하리라는 것을 모르십니까? 잘못 생각하면 안 됩니다. 음란한 자나 우상을 숭배하는 자나 간음하는 자나 여색을 탐하는 자나 남색하는 자나
- 도둑질하는 자나 탐욕을 부리는 자나 술주정꾼이나 비방하는 자나 약탈하는 자들은 하느님의 나라를 차지하지 못합니다.

- And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
- All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
- Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
- And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
- Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

- 여러분 중에도 이런 사람이 더러 있었습니다. 그러나 여러분은 주 예수 그리스도의 이름과 하느님의 성령으로 깨끗이 씻겨지고 거룩하여졌으며 하느님과 올바른 관계에 놓이게 되었습니다.
- 누구나 "나는 무슨 일이든지 할 자유가 있다."고 말할 수 있습니다. 그러나 무슨 일이든지 해서 다 유익한 것은 아닙니다. 과연 나는 무슨 일이든지 할 자유가 있습니다. 그러나 나는 그 무엇에게도 얽매이지는 않을 것입니다.
- 또 "음식은 배를 위하여 있고 배는 음식을 위하여 있다."고 말할 수 있습니다. 그러나 하느님께서는 이것도 저것도 다 없애버리실 것입니다. 몸은 음행을 하라고 있는 것이 아니라 주님을 섬기라고 있는 것입니다. 그리고 주님은 몸을 돌보아주시는 분이십니다.
- 하느님께서 주님을 다시 살리셨으니 우리도 당신의 권능으로 다시 살려주실 것입니다.
- 여러분의 몸이 그리스도의 지체라는 것을 알지 못합니까? 그런데 그리스도의 몸의 한 부분을 떼어서 창녀의 몸의 지체로 만들어서야 되겠습니까? 절대로 그럴 수 없습니다.

- What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
- But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
- Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
- What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
- For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

- 창녀와 관계를 하는 사람은 그 창녀와 한 몸이 된다는 것을 모르십니까? 하느님께서 "두 사람이 한 몸이 되리라."고 말씀하시지 않았습니까?
- 그러나 주님과 합하는 사람은 주님과 영적으로 하나가 됩니다.
- 그러니 음행을 물리치십시오. 인간이 짓는 모든 딴 죄는 자기 몸 밖에서 일어나는 것이지만 음행하는 자는 제 몸에다 죄를 짓는 것입니다.
- 여러분의 몸은 여러분이 하느님께로부터 받은 성령이 계시는 성전이라는 것을 모르십니까? 여러분의 몸은 여러분 자신의 것이 아닙니다.
- 하느님께서는 값을 치르고 여러분의 몸을 사셨습니다. 그러므로 여러분은 자기 몸으로 하느님의 영광을 드러내십시오.
