- For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
- For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
- This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
- For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

- 형제 여러분, 하느님께서는 자유를 주시려고 여러분을 부르셨습니다. 그러나 그 자유를 여러분의 육정을 만족시키는 기회로 삼지 마십시오. 오히려 여러분은 사랑으로 서로 종이 되십시오.
- 모든 율법은 "네 이웃을 네 몸같이 사랑하여라." 하신 한마디 말씀으로 요약됩니다.
- 그러나 여러분이 서로 물어뜯고 삼키고 하면 피차 멸망할 터이니 조심하십시오.
- 내 말을 잘 들으십시오. 육체의 욕정을 채우려 하지 말고 성령께서 이끄시는 대로 살아가십시오.
- 육체의 욕망은 성령을 거스르고 성령께서 원하시는 것은 육정을 거스릅니다. 이 둘은 서로 반대되는 것이기 때문에 여러분은 자기가 원하는 일을 할 수 없게 됩니다.

- But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
- Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
- Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
- Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

- 성령을 따라 사는 사람은 율법의 지배를 받지 않습니다.
- 육정이 빚어내는 일은 명백합니다. 곧 음행, 추행, 방탕,
- 우상 숭배, 마술, 원수 맺는 것, 싸움, 시기, 분노, 이기심, 분열, 당파심,
- 질투, 술주정, 흥청대며 먹고 마시는 것, 그 밖에 그와 비슷한 것들입니다. 내가 전에도 경고한 바 있지만 지금 또다시 경고합니다. 이런 짓을 일삼는 자들은 결코 하느님 나라를 차지하지 못할 것입니다.
- 성령께서 맺어주시는 열매는 사랑, 기쁨, 평화, 인내, 친절, 선행, 진실,

- Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
- And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
- If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
- Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

- 온유, 그리고 절제입니다. 이것을 금하는 법은 없습니다.
- 그리스도 예수에게 속한 사람들은 육체를 그 정욕과 욕망과 함께 십자가에 못박은 사람들입니다.
- 성령께서 우리에게 생명을 주셨으니 우리는 성령의 지도를 따라서 살아가야 합니다.
- 우리는 잘난 체하지 말고 서로 싸움을 걸지 말고 서로 질투하지 말아야 합니다.
