- This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
- Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
- Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
- But ye have not so learned Christ;
- If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

- 그러므로 나는 주님의 이름으로 여러분에게 간곡히 권고합니다. 이제부터 여러분은 이방인들처럼 살지 마십시오. 그들은 헛된 생각을 하고
- 마음이 어두워져서 하느님께서 주시는 생명을 받지 못할 사람이 되었습니다. 그것은 그들이 무지하고 마음이 완고하기 때문입니다.
- 그들은 도덕적인 감각을 잃고 제멋대로 방탕에 빠져서 온갖 더러운 짓을 하고 있습니다.
- 그러나 여러분은 그리스도를 그렇게 배우지는 않았습니다.
- 그리스도 예수 안에는 진리가 있을 따름인데 여러분이 그의 가르침을 그대로 듣고 배웠다면

- That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
- And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
- And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
- Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
- Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

- 옛 생활을 청산하고, 정욕에 말려들어 썩어져 가는 낡은 인간성을 벗어버리고,
- 마음과 생각이 새롭게 되어
- 하느님의 형상대로 창조된 새 사람으로 갈아 입어야 합니다. 새 사람은 올바르고 거룩한 진리의 생활을 하는 사람입니다.
- 그러므로 거짓말을 하지 말고 이웃에게 진실을 말하십시오. 우리는 서로 한 몸의 지체들입니다.
- 화나는 일이 있더라도 죄를 짓지 마십시오. 해 질 때까지 화를 풀지 않으면 안 됩니다.

- Neither give place to the devil.
- Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
- Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
- And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
- Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

- 악마에게 발붙일 기회를 주지 마십시오.
- 도둑질하던 사람은 이제부터 그런 짓을 그만두고 제 손으로 일하여 떳떳하게 살며 가난한 사람들을 도와줄 수 있도록 노력하십시오.
- 남을 해치는 말은 입 밖에도 내지 마십시오. 오히려 기회 있는 대로 남에게 이로운 말을 하여 도움을 주고 듣는 사람에게 기쁨을 주도록 하십시오.
- 마지막 날에 여러분을 해방하여 하느님의 백성으로 삼으실 것을 보증해 주신 하느님의 성령을 슬프게 하여드리지 마십시오.
- 모든 독설과 격정과 분노와 고함 소리와 욕설 따위는 온갖 악의와 더불어 내어버리십시오.

- And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
|
- 여러분은 서로 너그럽고 따뜻하게 대해 주며 하느님께서 그리스도를 통해서 여러분을 용서하신 것처럼 서로 용서하십시오.
