- Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
- Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
- And this will we do, if God permit.
- For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
- And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

- 그러므로 우리는 그리스도교의 초보적 교리를 넘어서서 성숙한 경지로 나아갑시다. 이제 와서 죽음에 이르는 행실을 버리고 돌아서는 일과 하느님을 믿는 일과
- 세례와 안수, 그리고 죽은 자들의 부활과 영원한 심판과 같은 기초적인 교리를 다시 배우는 일은 없도록 합시다.
- 하느님께서 허락하시는 대로 우리는 성숙한 지경으로 나아가야 합니다.
- 한번 빛을 받아서 하늘의 선물이 주는 기쁨을 맛보고 성령을 나누어 받은 사람들이,
- 또 하느님의 선한 말씀과 앞으로 올 세상의 권세의 맛을 본 사람들이

- If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
- For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
- But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
- But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
- For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

- 이제 배반하고 떨어져 나간다면 그것은 하느님의 아들을 다시 제 손으로 십자가에 못박아 욕을 보이는 셈이니 그들에게는 다시 회개하고 새 사람이 될 가망이 없습니다.
- 땅이 자주 내리는 비를 빨아들여 농사짓는 사람들에게 유익한 농작물을 내주면 하느님께서 그 땅을 축복하실 터이지만
- 가시나무와 엉겅퀴를 내게 되면 그것은 아무 쓸모가 없어서 오래지 않아 저주를 받아 마침내 불에 타버리고 말 것입니다.
- 사랑하는 형제 여러분, 우리가 이런 말을 하지만 여러분은 더 좋은 구원의 축복을 받고 있다는 것을 우리는 확신합니다.
- 하느님은 불의한 분이 아니시므로 여러분이 지금까지 성도들에게 봉사해 왔고 아직도 봉사하면서 당신의 이름을 위해서 보여준 선행과 사랑을 결코 잊지 않으십니다.

- And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
- That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

- 우리는 여러분 각 사람이 희망을 성취하기까지 끝내 같은 열성을 보여주기를 바랍니다.
- 게으른 자가 되지 말고 믿음과 인내로써 하느님께서 약속해 주신 것을 상속받는 사람들을 본받으십시오.
