마태복음 6:25-7:14

 예수님은 자연을 예로 들어 세상의 것을 구하기 전에 먼저 하나님의 나라와 의를 구할 것을 가르치셨으며, 남을 판단하지 말 것과 먼저 남을 대접할 것을 말씀하셨다.
  
  천국의 가치 기준(6:25-6:34)    
 
  1. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
  2. Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
  3. Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
  4. And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
  5. And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
  1. 그러므로 내가 너희에게 말한다. 너희 생명을 위해 무엇을 먹을까, 무엇을 마실까, 너희 몸을 위해 무엇을 입을까 걱정하지 말아라. 생명이 음식보다 더 중요하고 몸이 옷보다 더 중요하지 않느냐?
  2. 공중의 새를 보아라. 새는 씨를 뿌리거나 거두지도 않고 곳간에 모아 들이지도 않는다. 그러나 하늘에 계시는 너희 아버지께서 새를 기르신다. 너희는 새보다 더 귀하지 않느냐?
  3. 너희 중에 누가 걱정한다고 해서 자기 키를 한 치라도 더 늘릴 수 있느냐?
  4. 그리고 어째서 너희는 옷 걱정을 하느냐? 들의 백합화가 어떻게 자라는가 보아라. 그것은 수고도 하지 않고 옷감을 짜지도 않는다.
  5. 그러나 내가 너희에게 말하지만 솔로몬이 온갖 영광을 누렸으나 이 꽃만큼 아름다운 옷을 입어 보지 못하였다.
  1. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
  2. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
  3. (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
  4. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
  5. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
  1. 믿음이 적은 사람들아, 하나님께서는 오늘 있다가 내일 아궁이에 던져질 꽃도 이렇게 입혀 주시는데 하물며 너희야 더 잘 입혀 주시지 않겠느냐?
  2. 그러므로 너희는 '무엇을 먹을까?' '무엇을 마실까?' '무엇을 입을까?' 하고 걱정하지 말아라.
  3. 이런 것들은 모두 믿지 않는 사람들이 애써 구하는 것이다. 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서는 이 모든 것이 너희에게 있어야 할 것을 다 알고 계신다.
  4. 너희는 먼저 하나님의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라. 그러면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 덤으로 주실 것이다.
  5. 그러므로 내일 일을 걱정하지 말아라. 내일 일은 내일 걱정할 것이오. 한 날의 괴로움은 그 날의 것으로 충분하다.'
 
  영생에 대한 말씀(7:1-7:14)    
 
  1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.
  2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
  3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
  4. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
  5. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
  1. '너희가 판단을 받지 않으려거든 남을 판단하지 말아라.
  2. 너희가 남을 판단하는 것만큼 너희도 판단을 받을 것이며 남을 저울질하는 것만큼 너희도 저울질 당할 것이다.
  3. 왜 너는 형제의 눈 속에 있는 티는 보면서 네 눈 속에 있는 들보는 보지 못하느냐?
  4. 네 눈 속에 들보가 있는데 어떻게 형제에게 '네 눈 속에 있는 티를 빼내 주겠다.'하고 말할 수 있느냐?
  5. 위선자야, 먼저 네 눈 속의 들보를 빼내어라. 그러면 네가 밝히 보고 형제의 눈 속에 있는 티도 빼낼 수 있을 것이다.
  1. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
  2. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
  3. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
  4. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
  5. Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
  1. 너희는 거룩한 것을 개에게 주지 말고 진주를 돼지 앞에 던지지 말아라. 그것들이 발로 짓밟고 돌아서서 너희를 물어 뜯을지도 모른다.
  2. 구하라. 그러면 받을 것이다. 찾아라. 그러면 찾을 것이다. 문을 두드려라. 그러면 열릴 것이다.
  3. 누구든지 구하는 사람은 받을 것이며 찾는 사람은 찾을 것이요 두드리는 사람에게는 열릴 것이다.
  4. 너희 중에 자기 아들이 빵을 달라는데 돌을 주며
  5. 생선을 달라는데 뱀을 줄 사람이 있겠느냐?
  1. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
  2. Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
  3. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
  4. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
  1. 악한 사람이라도 자기 자녀에게는 좋은 선물을 줄줄 아는데 하물며 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서 구하는 사람에게 더 좋은 것을 주시지 않겠느냐?
  2. 그러므로 무엇이든지 너희가 남에게 대접을 받고 싶거든 먼저 남을 대접하여라. 이것이 곧 율법과 예언자들의 가르침이다.'
  3. 좁은 문으로 들어가거라. 멸망에 이르는 문은 크고 길도 넓어 그리로 들어가는 사람이 많고
  4. 생명에 이르는 문은 작고 길도 좁아 찾는 사람이 적다.
