- The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
- Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
- Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
- Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
- And last of all the woman died also.

- 바로 그 날 부활이 없다고 주장하는 사두개파 사람들이 예수님께 와서 물었다.
- '선생님, 모세는 형이 자식 없이 죽으면 동생이 형수와 결혼하여 형의 대를 이어야 한다고 했습니다.
- 우리 이웃에 일곱 형제가 있었는데 맏이 결혼하여 살다가 자식 없이 죽고 그 동생이 형수와 살게 되었습니다.
- 그러나 둘째도 자식 없이 죽었고 세째에서 일곱째까지 모두 그렇게 되었으며
- 끝내는 그 여자도 죽었습니다.

- Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
- Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
- For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
- But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
- I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

- 이렇게 일곱 형제가 모두 한 여자와 살았으니 부활 때 그 여자는 누구의 아내가 되겠습니까?'
- 그래서 예수님은 그들에게 이렇게 대답하셨다. '너희는 성경과 하나님의 능력을 모르기 때문에 잘못 생각하고 있다.
- 부활하면 장가도 시집도 안가고 다만 하늘에 있는 천사들과 같이 된다.
- 너희는 죽은 사람들의 부활에 대하여 하나님이
- '나는 아브라함의 하나님, 이삭의 하나님, 야곱의 하나님이다.' 라고 하신 말씀을 읽어 보지 못했느냐? 하나님은 죽은 사람들의 하나님이 아니라 살아 있는 사람들의 하나님이시다.'

- And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

- 그러자 군중들은 예수님의 가르치심에 감탄하였다.
