- Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
- Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
- Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
- And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
- And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.

- 부활이 없다고 주장하는 사두개파 사람들이 예수님께 와서 물었다.
- '선생님, 모세의 법에는 형이 자식 없이 아내를 두고 죽으면 동생이 형수와 결혼하여 형의 대를 이어야 한다고 했습니다.
- 어느 곳에 일곱 형제가 있었는데 맏이 결혼해 살다가 자식 없이 죽었습니다.
- 그리고 둘째가 형수와 살다가 자식 없이 죽고 세째도 그랬으며
- 일곱이 모두 그렇게 자식 없이 죽고 맨 나중에 그 여자도 죽었습니다.

- In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
- And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
- For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
- And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
- He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

- 이렇게 일곱 형제가 모두 한 여자와 살았으니 부활 때 그 여자는 누구의 아내가 되겠습니까?'
- 그래서 예수님은 그들에게 이렇게 대답하셨다. '너희가 성경과 하나님의 능력을 모르기 때문에 잘못 생각하고 있는 것이 아니냐?
- 사람이 죽었다가 다시 살아날 때는 장가도 시집도 안 가며 하늘의 천사들과 같이 된다.
- 너희는 죽은 사람들의 부활에 대하여 모세의 떨기나무 기사에서 하나님이 모세에게 '나는 아브라함의 하나님, 이삭의 하나님, 야곱의 하나님이다.'라고 하신 말씀을 읽어 보지 못했느냐?
- 하나님은 죽은 사람들의 하나님이 아니라 살아 있는 사람들의 하나님이시다. 너희는 크게 잘못 생각하고 있다.'
