열왕기하 17:1-18:12

 하나님의 말씀을 거역하고 우상 숭배로 점철된 패역한 길을 걷던 북이스라엘은 결국 호세아 왕을 마지막으로 앗수르에 의해 멸망당하고 말았다. 유다 역대 왕 가운데 가장 탁월했던 히스기야 왕이 대대적인 종교 개혁을 단행하고 선정을 베풀었다.
  
  북이스라엘의 멸망(17:1-17:41)    
 
  1. In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.
  2. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.
  3. Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.
  4. And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.
  5. Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
  1. 유다의 아하스왕 12년에 엘라의 아들 호세아가 이스라엘의 왕이 되어 사마리아에서 9년을 통치하였다.
  2. 그는 여호와께서 보시기에 악을 행하였으나 그 이전에 있었던 이스라엘의 다른 왕들과 같지는 않았다.
  3. 앗시리아의 살만에셀왕이 이스라엘을 치자 호세아는 항복하고 해마다 그에게 조공을 바쳤다.
  4. 그러나 한번은 그가 이집트 왕 소에게 사절단을 보내 도움을 요청하고 해마다 앗시리아에 바치던 조공을 보내지 않았다. 그러자 살만에셀은 이것을 알고 호세아를 잡아 감옥에 가두었다.
  5. 그리고서 살만에셀은 이스라엘을 침략하여 사마리아성을 포위하였다. 성을 포위한 지 3년 만인
  1. In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
  2. For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
  3. And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
  4. And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
  5. And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:
  1. 호세아왕 9년에 앗시리아 왕은 사마리아를 정복하고 이스라엘 사람을 잡아 앗시리아로 끌고 가서 할라성과 고산 지역에 있는 하볼 강변과 메디아의 여러 성에 정착시켰다.
  2. 이와 같이 북왕국 이스라엘이 멸망하게 된 원인은 그 백성이 이집트의 노예 생활에서 자기들을 구출해 내신 그들의 하나님 여호와께 범죄하고 다른 신들을 섬기며
  3. 여호와께서 가나안 땅에서 쫓아내신 이방 민족의 악한 풍습을 좇았기 때문이었다.
  4. 이스라엘 사람들은 그들의 하나님 여호와께서 허용하지 않는 못된 짓을 하고 작은 마을에서부터 큰 성에 이르기까지 온 땅에 이방 신을 섬기는 산당을 세웠다.
  5. 그리고 그들은 모든 산언덕과 푸른 나무 아래에 돌기둥에 우상과 아세라 여신상을 세우고
  1. And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:
  2. For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.
  3. Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
  4. Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
  5. And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
  1. 여호와께서 쫓아내신 이방 민족의 행실을 본받아 그 산당에서 분향하며 온갖 악을 행하여 여호와를 노하게 하였다.
  2. 이처럼 그들은 우상을 섬기지 말라는 여호와의 명령에 불순종했던 것이다.
  3. 여호와께서는 계속 그의 사자들과 예언자들을 보내 이스라엘과 유다 백성에게 '너희는 악한 생활을 청산하고 내가 너희 조상들과 예언자들을 통해 전해 준 나의 모든 법과 명령을 지켜라' 하였으나
  4. 그들은 이 명령에 불순종하고 그들의 하나님 여호와를 신뢰하지 않았던 자기들의 조상들처럼 고집을 피우며
  5. 여호와의 법을 배척하고 또 여호와와 그들의 조상들이 맺은 계약을 어기며 그 분의 모든 경고를 무시하였다. 그리고 그들은 무가치한 우상을 섬겨 아무쓸모 없는 자가 되었고 여호와의 엄한 명령에도 불구하고 그 주변 나라들의 악한 풍습을 좇았다.
  1. And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
  2. And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
  3. Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
  4. Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
  5. And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
  1. 또 그들은 그들의 하나님 여호와의 모든 명령을 저버리고 두 금송아지와 아세라 여신상을 만들었으며 해와 달과 별을 숭배하고 바알을 섬겼다.
  2. 그리고 그들은 자기들의 자녀를 산 채로 불에 태워 이방 신에게 제물로 바치고 점장이를 찾아다니며 마술을 행하고 여호와께서 보시기에 악을 행하였다.
  3. 그래서 여호와께서는 몹시 노하여 유다 지파만 남기고 이스라엘 백성을 그 땅에서 추방해 버렸다.
  4. 그러나 유다 백성까지도 그들의 하나님 여호와의 명령에 불순종하고 이스라엘 사람들의 행실을 그대로 본받았다.
  5. 그러므로 여호와께서는 유다와 이스라엘 백성을 모두 버리시고 그들을 벌하셔서 잔인한 원수들의 손에 넘겨 결국 그들을 그 땅에서 추방해 버렸다.
  1. For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.
  2. For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;
  3. Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.
  4. And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
  5. And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.
  1. 여호와께서 다윗의 나라를 찢어 나누셨을 때 이스라엘 사람들은 느밧의 아들 여로보암을 자기들의 왕으로 삼았다. 그러나 여로보암이 그들을 죄의 길로 인도하여 여호와를 떠나게 하였으므로
  2. 그들은 여로보암을 본받아 그가 행한 악을 그대로 행하고 그 죄에서 떠나지 않았다.
  3. 그래서 결국 여호와께서는 그의 종 예언자들을 통하여 말씀하신 대로 그 땅에서 그들을 추방해 버렸다. 그러므로 이스라엘 백성들은 앗시리아에 끌려가서 지금도 거기서 살고 있다.
  4. 앗시리아 왕은 바빌론과 구다와 아와와 하맛과 스발와임 사람들을 데려다가 이스라엘 사람 대신 그들을 이스라엘의 여러 성에 살게 하였다. 그래서 그들은 사마리아성과 그 밖의 여러 성을 차지하고 거기서 살았다.
  5. 그러나 그들이 처음 그 곳에 정착할 때 여호와를 섬기지 않았으므로 여호와께서는 그들 가운데 여러 마리의 사자를 보내 몇 사람을 죽였다.
  1. Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.
  2. Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.
  3. Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.
  4. Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.
  5. And the men of Babylon made Succothbenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
  1. 앗시리아 왕은 이스라엘의 여러 성에 살고 있는 사람들이 그 나라 신의 법을 알지 못하여 그 신이 사자들을 보내 그들 가운데 몇 사람을 죽였다는 말을 듣고
  2. 그 곳에서 잡아온 포로 중 제사장 하나를 데리고 가 거기에 살면서 그 곳 사람들에게 그 땅 신의 법을 가르치게 하라고 명령하였다.
  3. 그래서 사마리아에서 잡혀온 제사장 하나가 돌아가 벧엘에 살면서 그 사람들에게 여호와를 섬기는 법을 가르쳐 주었다.
  4. 그러나 그들은 각 민족별로 그들이 사는 성에서 자기들의 신상을 만들어 이스라엘 사람들이 지어 놓은 산당에 두었다.
  5. 바빌론 사람들은 숙곳-브놋을 만들었고 굿 사람들은 네르갈, 하맛 사람들은 아시마,
  1. And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
  2. So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
  3. They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.
  4. Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
  5. With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:
  1. 아와 사람들은 닙하스와 다르닥을 만들었으며 스발와임 사람들은 그들의 자녀를 불태워 그들의 신 아드람멜렉과 아남멜렉에게 제물로 바쳤다.
  2. 그리고 이 사람들은 여호와도 섬겼는데 그들은 제사장을 뽑아 산당에서 자기들을 위해 대신 제사를 드리게 하였다.
  3. 이와 같이 그들은 여호와도 섬기고 또 자기 민족의 풍습에 따라 자기들의 신도 섬겼다.
  4. 그 이후에도 그들은 계속 자기들의 옛 풍습을 따라 살며 여호와를 섬기지 않고 여호와께서 야곱의 후손들에게 주신 법과 명령을 지키지 않았다.
  5. 여호와께서는 전에 야곱의 후손들과 계약을 맺고 그들에게 이렇게 명령하셨다. '너희는 다른 신을 숭배하거나 절하거나 섬기지 말며 그에게 제사 드리지 말아라.
  1. But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.
  2. And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.
  3. And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.
  4. But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
  5. Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.
  1. 너희는 놀라운 기적과 큰 능력으로 너희를 이집트에서 인도해 낸 나 여호와만 섬기고 나에게 예배하며 제사를 드려야 한다.
  2. 너희는 내가 너희를 위해 기록한 모든 법과 명령에 순종하고 다른 신을 섬기지 말며
  3. 내가 너희와 맺은 계약을 잊지 말고
  4. 너희 하나님 나 여호와를 섬겨라. 그러면 내가 너희 원수들에게서 너희를 구해 줄 것이다.'
  5. 그러나 그들은 여호와의 말씀을 듣지 않고 계속 다른 신을 섬겼다.
  1. So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.
  1. 이처럼 이스라엘 땅으로 이주해 온 이 이방 민족들은 여호와를 섬기면서도 여전히 그들의 우상을 섬겼다. 그리고 그 자손들도 대대로 그들의 조상들을 본받아 그 일을 되풀이 하였다.
 
  히스기야의 통치(18:1-18:12)    
 
  1. Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.
  2. Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah.
  3. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did.
  4. He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.
  5. He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.
  1. 엘라의 아들인 이스라엘의 호세아왕 3년에 아하스의 아들 히스기야가 유다 왕이 되었다.
  2. 그는 25세의 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 29년을 통치하였다. 그리고 그의 어머니는 스가랴의 딸 아비야였다.
  3. 히스기야는 그의 조상 다윗을 본받아 여호와께서 보시기에 옳은 일을 하였다.
  4. 그는 산당을 헐고 돌기둥의 우상을 깨뜨리며 아세라 여신상을 찍어 버리고 또 이스라엘 사람들이 그때까지도 모세가 만든 놋뱀을 향해 분향하므로 그것을 부숴 '느후스단'이라고 불렀다.
  5. 히스기야는 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 신뢰하였는데 유다의 모든 왕 중에서 그와 같은 왕이 없었다.
  1. For he clave to the LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses.
  2. And the LORD was with him; and he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.
  3. He smote the Philistines, even unto Gaza, and the borders thereof, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
  4. And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.
  5. And at the end of three years they took it: even in the sixth year of Hezekiah, that is in the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken.
  1. 그는 모든 일에 여호와를 따르며 순종하고 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 모든 것을 지켰다.
  2. 여호와께서 그와 함께 하셨으므로 그는 무엇을 하든지 성공하였다. 그는 앗시리아 왕에게 반기를 들고 복종하지 않았으며
  3. 블레셋 사람을 쳐서 가사와 그 일대를 포함하여 크고 작은 성들을 모조리 정복하였다.
  4. 히스기야왕 4년 곧 이스라엘의 호세아왕 7년에 앗시리아의 살만에셀왕이 이스라엘을 침략하여 사마리아성을 포위하였다.
  5. 포위당한 지 3년 만에 사마리아성이 함락되었다. 그 때는 히스기야왕 6년이며 이스라엘의 호세아왕 9년이었다.
  1. And the king of Assyria did carry away Israel unto Assyria, and put them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes:
  2. Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.
  1. 앗시리아 왕은 이스라엘 사람을 포로로 잡아 앗시리아로 끌고 가서 할라성과 고산 지역에 있는 하볼 강변과 메디아의 여러 성에 정착시켰다.
  2. 이와 같이 사마리아가 멸망하게 된 것은 이스라엘 사람들이 그들의 하나님 여호와께 불순종하고 그들과 맺은 계약을 지키지 않았으며 여호와의 종 모세가 전해 준 법에 따라 살지 않았기 때문이었다.
