에스라

  본서는 하나님께서 예레미야를 통해 말씀하신 예언(렘 29:10-14), 즉 이스라엘 민족을 70년간의 포로 생활 후 다시 가나안 땅으로 인도하시리라는 약속의 성취 과정을 기록하고 있다. 그래서 이스라엘의 회복, 신앙과 예배의 구심적인 성전 재건, 야웨 신앙의 순수성 확립을 강조하고 있다.

  이스라엘 민족의 귀환은 3차에 걸쳐 이루어졌는데, 1,2차 귀환의 내용이 본서에 기록되고 있다. 1차 귀환과 성전 재건은 스룹바벨과 예수아를 중심으로 이루어졌으며, 2차 귀환은 에스라를 중심으로 이루어졌다. 에스라는 도덕적, 영적으로 폐허가 된 유대인들의 마음에 하나님의 법을 재건하는 신앙 개혁 운동을 일으켰다.

 

 

에스라 1:1-2:70

 하나님께서는 바사 왕 고레스의 마음을 감동시키셔서 이스라엘 백성에게 유다 예루살렘에 올라가 하나님의 전을 건축하라는 조서를 내리게 하셨다. 바벨론에서의 포로 생활을 청산하고 예루살렘으로 귀환한 사람들의 명단이 기록되어 있다.
  
  고레스의 조서(1:1-1:11)    
 
  1. Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
  2. Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
  3. Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.
  4. And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.
  5. Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.
  1. 페르시아의 키루스황제 원년에 여호와께서는 예레미야를 통해 말씀하신 것을 이루시려고 키루스황제의 마음을 감동시키셔서 다음과 같은 조서를 내려 온 땅에 공포하도록 하였다.
  2. '페르시아의 키루스황제가 말한다. 하늘의 신 여호와께서 세상 모든 나라를 나에게 주셨고 또 유다의 예루살렘에 성전을 건축하라고 나에게 지시하셨다.
  3. 그러므로 너희 중 그의 백성들은 누구든지 다 유다 예루살렘으로 돌아가 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와의 성전을 건축하여라. 그는 예루살렘에 계시는 하나님이시다. 너희 하나님께서 너희와 함께 하시기를 원한다.
  4. 또 유다 사람이 어느 곳에 살든지 그가 돌아갈 때 그 이웃 사람들은 그를 도와 주고 그에게 은과 금과 그 밖에 필요한 물건과 짐승과 그리고 예루살렘에 있는 하나님의 성전에 바칠 예물을 주도록 하여라.'
  5. 그래서 유다와 베냐민 지파의 족장들과 제사장들과 레위인들, 그리고 하나님의 감동을 받은 모든 사람들이 올라가서 예루살렘 성전을 지을 준비를 하였다.
  1. And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.
  2. Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;
  3. Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
  4. And this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,
  5. Thirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.
  1. 그러자 그들의 이웃 사람들은 은 그릇, 금, 여러 가지 필수품, 가축, 값진 선물, 그 밖에 성전에 드릴 예물을 그들에게 주었다.
  2. 또 키루스황제는 재무관 미드레닷에게 지시하여 느부갓네살왕이 예루살렘에서 가져와 그들의 신전에 둔 성전의 각종 기구들을 끄집어내어 그 명세서를 작성한 다음 귀환자들의 지도자인 세스바살에게 주도록 했는데

  4. 그것은 금접시 30개, 은접시 1,000개, 향로 29개,
  5. 금 대접 30개, 은대접 410개, 그 밖에 다른 그릇 1,000개였다.
  1. All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.
  1. 이상의 금은 그릇은 모두 2,499개였다. 포로들이 바빌론에서 예루살렘으로 돌아올 때 세스바살은 이 모든 성전 기구도 함께 가지고 왔다.
 
  귀환자 명단(2:1-2:70)    
 
  1. Now these are the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;
  2. Which came with Zerubbabel: Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mizpar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:
  3. The children of Parosh, two thousand an hundred seventy and two.
  4. The children of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy and two.
  5. The children of Arah, seven hundred seventy and five.
  1. 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕에게 포로가 되어 바빌론으로 끌려갔던 수많은 사람들이 그 곳을 떠나 예루살렘과 유다와 그들의 각 성으로 돌아왔다.
  2. 이들과 함께 온 지도자들은 스룹바벨, 예수아, 느헤미야, 스라야, 르엘라야, 모르드개, 빌산, 미스발. 비그왜, 르훔, 바아나였다. 그리고 이 귀환자들의 인원을 각 자손별로 나열하면 다음과 같다.

  4. 스바댜 자손 372명
  5. 아라 자손 775명
  1. The children of Pahathmoab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.
  2. The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.
  3. The children of Zattu, nine hundred forty and five.
  4. The children of Zaccai, seven hundred and threescore.
  5. The children of Bani, six hundred forty and two.

  1. The children of Bebai, six hundred twenty and three.

  1. The children of Ater of Hezekiah, ninety and eight.

  5. The children of Magbish, an hundred fifty and six.

  1. The singers: the children of Asaph, an hundred twenty and eight.
  2. The children of the porters: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, in all an hundred thirty and nine.
  3. The Nethinims: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth,
  4. The children of Keros, the children of Siaha, the children of Padon,
  5. The children of Lebanah, the children of Hagabah, the children of Akkub,
  1. 성가대원인 아삽 자손 128명
  2. 살룸과 아델과 달몬과 악굽과 하디다와 소배의 자손인 성전 문지기 139명이었다.
  3. 그리고 성전 봉사자들은 시하, 하수바, 답바옷,
  4. 게로스, 시아하, 바돈,
  5. 르바나, 하가바, 악굽,
  1. The children of Hagab, the children of Shalmai, the children of Hanan,
  2. The children of Giddel, the children of Gahar, the children of Reaiah,
  3. The children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda, the children of Gazzam,
  4. The children of Uzza, the children of Paseah, the children of Besai,
  5. The children of Asnah, the children of Mehunim, the children of Nephusim,
  1. 하갑, 살매, 하난,
  2. 깃델, 가할, 르아야,
  3. 르신, 느고다, 갓삼,
  4. 웃사, 바세아, 베새,
  5. 아스나, 므우님, 느부심,
  1. The children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,
  2. The children of Bazluth, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,
  3. The children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Thamah,
  4. The children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.
  5. The children of Solomon's servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Peruda,
  1. 박북, 하그바, 할훌,
  2. 바슬룻, 므히다, 하르사,
  3. 바르고스, 시스라, 데마,
  4. 느시야, 하디바 - 이상 모든 사람들의 자손들이었다.
  5. 솔로몬왕 신하들의 자손들 중에서 돌아온 사람들은 소대 자손, 하소베렛 자손, 브루다 자손,
  1. The children of Jaalah, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,
  2. The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Ami.
  3. All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon's servants, were three hundred ninety and two.
  4. And these were they which went up from Telmelah, Telharsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer: but they could not shew their father's house, and their seed, whether they were of Israel:
  5. The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two.
  1. 야알라 자손, 다르곤 자손, 깃델 자손,
  2. 스바댜 자손, 핫딜 자손, 보게렛-하스바임 자손, 아미 자손들이었다.
  3. 이와 같이 성전 봉사자들과 솔로몬왕 신하들의 자손들 중에서 돌아온 사람들은 모두 392명이었다.
  4. 이때 페르시아의 델-멜라, 델-하르사, 그룹, 앗단, 임멜 지방에서 예루살렘으로 돌아온 다른 집단도 있었으나 그들이 실제로 이스라엘 자손이라는 확실한 증거가 없었다.
  5. 이들은 들라야와 도비야와 느고다 자손들로 모두 652명이었다.
  1. And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name:
  2. These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.
  3. And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.
  4. The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,
  5. Beside their servants and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and there were among them two hundred singing men and singing women.
  1. 그리고 제사장들 중에서 하바야 자손과 학고스 자손, 그리고 길르앗 사람 바르실래의 딸과 결혼하여 처가집 이름을 딴 바르실래의 자손들도 예루살렘으로 돌아왔는데
  2. 그들도 족보에서 그 신원이 밝혀지지 않았다. 그래서 이들은 부정한 자로 취급을 받아 제사장 직분을 수행하지 못했으며
  3. 유다 지도자는 제사장이 우림과 둠밈으로 하나님의 판결을 물어 그들이 실제로 제사장인지 아닌지 밝혀낼 때까지는 제사장이 먹는 거룩한 음식을 먹지 말라고 명령하였다.
  4. 이상과 같이 유다로 돌아온 사람들은 노예 7,337명과 남녀 성가대원 200명 외에 42,360명이었다.
  5. (64절과 같음)
  1. Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;
  2. Their camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
  3. And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the LORD which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:
  4. They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.
  5. So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
  1. 또 그들은 말 736마리, 노새 245마리, 낙타 435마리, 당나귀 6,720마리도 함께 끌고 왔다.
  2. (66절과 같음)
  3. 그들이 예루살렘의 성전에 도착했을 때 일부 집안의 지도자들이 그 곳에 성전을 재건하려고 기쁜 마음으로 예물을 드렸다.
  4. 그들은 이 일을 위해서 자기 능력에 따라 예물을 드렸다. 그들이 바친 예물은 금 약 524킬로그램과 은 2,855킬로그램과 그리고 제사장복 100벌이었다.
  5. 이렇게 해서 제사장들과 레위인들과 일부 백성들은 예루살렘과 그 주변 일대에 살고 성가대원들과 성전 문지기들과 성전 봉사자들은 예루살렘 주변의 성에 살았으며 그 나머지 백성들은 각자 자기 조상들이 살던 성에 정착하였다.
