욥기 39:1-40:24

 하나님께서는 자연 세계에 관한 여러 가지 질문을 하시면서 욥에게 대답을 요구하셨다. 그러자 욥은 자신은 미천하여 하나님께 대답할 수 없다고 고백하였다. 하나님께서는 하마에 대하여 설명하시면서 욥에게 교만을 버릴 것과 욥을 지으신 하나님의 절대 주권을 나타내셨다.
  
  하나님과 욥의 대화(39:1-40:24)    
 
  1. Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?
  2. Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?
  3. They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.
  4. Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.
  5. Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?
  1. 산에 사는 염소가 언제 새끼를 낳는지 네가 알고 있느냐? 너는 암사슴이 새끼 낳는 것을 지켜본 적이 있느냐?
  2. 그것들이 얼마 동안 새끼를 뱃속에 넣어 다니며 또 새끼를 낳는 때는 언제인지 네가 알고 있느냐?
  3. 그것들이 몸을 구푸리고 일단 새끼를 낳으면 그 고통은 끝나 버리고
  4. 그 새끼들은 빈 들에서 건강하게 자라다가 어미 곁을 떠나 다시는 돌아오지 않는다.
  5. 누가 들나귀에게 자유를 주었으며 누가 그것을 풀어 놓아 마음대로 다니게 하였느냐?
  1. Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.
  2. He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.
  3. The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.
  4. Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
  5. Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
  1. 내가 그것들에게 들을 주어 집을 삼게 하고 그것들로 염분이 많은 땅에 살도록 하였다.
  2. 들나귀는 도시의 떠들썩한 소리를 싫어하며 몰이꾼들이 외쳐대는 소리도 들으려 하지 않는다.
  3. 그것들에게는 산이 목장과 같아서 거기서 푸른 것을 찾는다.
  4. 들소가 너에게 순종하며 너의 외양간에서 머물겠느냐?
  5. 네가 줄로 들소를 매어 밭을 갈고 써레질을 할 수 있게 하겠느냐?
  1. Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?
  2. Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?
  3. Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?
  4. Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,
  5. And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.
  1. 그것이 힘이 세다고 해서 너의 힘든 일을 덜어 주리라고 생각하느냐?
  2. 네가 그것을 보내 곡식을 집으로 실어 오게 하고 곡식단을 타작 마당으로 모으게 할 수 있느냐?
  3. 타조는 웅장하게 날개를 치지마는 그 깃과 털에서 어미의 사랑을 찾아 볼 수가 없다.
  4. 그것은 알을 땅에 그대로 버려 두어 땅의 열로 더워지게 하고
  5. 누가 발로 밟아 그것을 깨뜨리거나 들짐승이 해칠 것을 생각지 못하며
  1. She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her's: her labour is in vain without fear;
  2. Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.
  3. What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.
  4. Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?
  5. Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.
  1. 자기 새끼도 마치 제 새끼가 아닌 것처럼 무정하게 대하고 수고하고 애쓴 보람이 없어져도 그것에 별로 관심이 없다.
  2. 그것은 내가 타조를 어리석게 하고 지혜를 주지 않았기 때문이다.
  3. 그러나 타조가 날개를 펼치고 뛰어갈 때는 말과 기수를 우습게 본다.
  4. 네가 말에게 힘을 주고 흩날리는 갈기를 그 목에 입혔느냐?
  5. 네가 말을 메뚜기처럼 뛰게 하였느냐? 그 위엄 있는 콧소리는 두려움마저 느끼게 한다.
  1. He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.
  2. He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.
  3. The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.
  4. He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.
  5. He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
  1. 말은 앞발로 땅을 힘 있게 차며 전쟁터로 달려가면서도
  2. 두려움을 모르고 칼과 맞서도 피하지 않는다.
  3. 그 위에서는 화살통이 덜커덩거리고 긴 창과 작은 창이 햇빛에 번쩍거린다.
  4. 그것은 나팔 소리가 나면 미칠 듯이 앞발로 땅을 차고 달려나가며
  5. 나팔 소리가 날 때마다 콧소리를 내고 멀리서도 전쟁 기미를 알아차리며 싸우는 소리와 지휘관들이 명령하는 소리를 다 듣는다.
  1. Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?
  2. Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?
  3. She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.
  4. From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.
  5. Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.
  1. 매가 하늘 높이 솟아올라 남쪽을 향해 날개를 펴고 나는 것이 네게서 배운 지혜 때문이냐?
  2. 독수리가 높은 곳이 집을 짓는 것이 네 명령 때문이냐?
  3. 그것은 높은 절벽에 집을 짓고 살며 험한 바위산이 그의 요새이다.
  4. 독수리는 거기서 먹을 것을 찾아 멀리까지 살핀다.
  5. 시체가 있는 곳에는 독수리가 모이며 그 새끼들도 거기서 피를 빨아먹는다.'
 
 
  1. Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
  2. Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
  3. Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
  4. Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
  5. Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
  1. 여호와께서는 계속해서 욥에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '네가 아직도 전능한 자와 다투겠느냐? 나 하나님을 책망하는 너는 이제 대답하라'
  3. 그러자 욥이 이렇게 대답하였다.
  4. '나같이 보잘것 없는 자가 주께 무엇이라고 대답하겠습니까? 다만 손으로 내 입을 가릴 뿐입니다.
  5. 나는 이미 너무 많은 말을 하였습니다.'
  1. Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
  2. Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
  3. Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
  4. Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
  5. Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
  1. 그때 여호와께서 다시 폭풍 가운데서 욥에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너는 남자답게 일어나서 내가 묻는 말에 대답하라
  3. 너는 네가 의롭다는 말을 하기 위해서 내 심판을 무시하고 나를 죄인으로 단정할 셈이냐?
  4. 네가 나 같은 팔을 가졌으며 나만큼 우렁찬 소리를 낼 수 있느냐?
  5. 만일 그렇다면 네가 화려하고 아름답게 꾸미고 위엄과 영광의 옷을 입어라.
  1. Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
  2. Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
  3. Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
  4. Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
  5. Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
  1. 너는 교만한 자들을 찾아 너의 분노를 쏟고 그들을 낮추라.
  2. 다시 말하지만 교만한 자들을 모조리 찾아서 낮추고 악인들을 그들이 있는 곳에서 짓밟아
  3. 모두 땅 속에 묻고 그 얼굴을 싸서 무덤이 두어라.
  4. 그러면 네 힘이 너를 구원할 수 있다고 내가 인정해 주겠다.
  5. 너는 하마처럼 생긴 괴물을 보아라. 내가 너를 창조했듯이 그것도 창조하였다. 그 괴물은 소처럼 풀을 먹고 살지마는
  1. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
  2. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
  3. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
  4. He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
  5. Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
  1. 그 허리와 배의 힘줄에는 강한 힘이 있다.
  2. 그 고리는 백향목처럼 곧고 넓적다리에 힘줄은 서로 굳게 결합되어 있으며
  3. 그 뼈는 놋쇠처럼 단단하고 다리는 쇠막대기와 같다.
  4. 이것은 내가 창조한 것 중에서 가장 무서운 놈이다. 그것을 창조한 나도 칼을 들어야만 접근할 수 있다.
  5. 모든 들짐승이 노는 산이 그것을 위해 먹을 것을 만들어낸다.
  1. He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
  2. The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
  3. Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
  4. He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
  1. 그것이 연꽃 아래나 습지의 갈대밭에 엎드리면
  2. 연이나 수양버들이 그것을 그늘에 숨겨 준다.
  3. 그 괴물은 홍수가 밀어닥쳐도 놀라지 않으며 요단 강물이 넘쳐 그 입에까지 와 닿아도 태연하다.
  4. 누가 감히 그것을 잡아 갈고리로 그 코를 꿸 수 있겠느냐?
