- By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
- We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
- For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
- How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?
- If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

- 우리는 바빌론 강변에 앉아서 시온을 기억하며 울었다.
- 우리가 수금을 버드나무 가지에 걸었으니
- 우리를 사로잡은 자들이 우리에게 노래를 청하고 우리를 괴롭히는 자들이 즐거운 노래를 요구하며 '시온의 노래 중 하나를 불러라.' 하고 말하였음이라.
- 우리가 외국 땅에서 어떻게 여호와의 노래를 부를 수 있겠는가?
- 예루살렘아, 내가 너를 잊는다면 내 오른손이 수금 타는 법도 잊어버리기를 원하노라.

- If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
- Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.
- O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
- Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

- 내가 너를 기억하지 않거나 내가 너를 가장 큰 기쁨으로 여기지 않는다면 내가 다시는 노래를 부르지 못하게 하라.
- 여호와여, 예루살렘이 함락되던 날에 에돔 사람들이 한 짓을 기억하소서. 그들이 '예루살렘성을 헐어라! 그 기초까지 헐어 버려라!' 하였습니다.
- 바빌론아, 너는 멸망할 것이다. 네가 우리에게 행한 대로 갚아 주는 자가 복이 있으리라.
- 네 아이들을 잡아다가 바위에 메어치는 자가 복이 있으리라.
