이사야 56:1-58:14

 구원에의 초청 대상에는 이스라엘 백성들뿐 아니라 하나님께 연합한 이방인들도 해당되었다. 이사야는 하나님을 떠나면 이스라엘의 지도자라 할지라도 심판을 받을 것임을 경고하였다. 또한 우상 숭배에 빠진 어리석은 백성들을 규탄하면서, 회개하는 자들만이 구원을 받게 된다고 선언하였다. 그리고 금식과 안식일이 형식에 치우치고 있음을 지적하며 여기에 사랑의 행위가 수반되어야 함을 강조하였다.
  
  이방인의 구원(56:1-56:12)    
 
  1. Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
  2. Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
  3. Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
  4. For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
  5. Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
  1. 여호와께서 자기 백성에게 말씀하신다. '너희는 공정하고 옳은 일을 행하라. 내가 곧 너희를 구원할 것이다.
  2. 안식일을 더럽히지 않고 잘 지키는 자와 악을 행하지 않는 자에게 복이 있다.'
  3. 여호와를 섬기는 이방인들은 '틀림없이 여호와께서 나를 자기 백성과 구별하실 것이다.' 하지 말며 고자도 '나는 마른 나무에 불과할 뿐이야' 하고 불평하지 말아라.
  4. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '내 안식일을 지키며 나를 기쁘게 하는 일을 택하고 내 계약을 굳게 지키는 고자들에게
  5. 내 성전과 성 안에서 아들딸보다 더 나은 영광스러운 이름을 주어 영원히 잊혀지지 않게 할 것이다.'
  1. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
  2. Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
  3. The Lord GOD, which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
  4. All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest.
  5. His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
  1. 또 여호와께서는 자기 종이 되어 자기를 사랑하고 섬기며 안식일을 지켜 더럽히지 않고 그의 계약을 굳게 지키는 이방인들에게 말씀하신다.
  2. '내가 너희를 나의 거룩한 산으로 인도하여 내 기도하는 집에서 너희에게 기쁨을 줄 것이며 너희가 내 제단에 드리는 희생의 제물을 내가 기꺼이 받을 것이다. 이것은 내 성전이 모든 민족의 기도하는 집이 될 것이기 때문이다.'
  3. 이스라엘의 흩어진 백성을 모으시는 주 여호와께서 자기 백성 외에 다른 민족도 그에게 불러 모으시겠다고 약속하셨다.
  4. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '이방 민족들아, 들짐승처럼 와서 내 백성을 삼켜라.
  5. 이스라엘의 지도자들은 다 소경이요 무지하여 짖지 못하는 벙어리 개와 같으며 누워서 꿈이나 꾸고 잠자기를 좋아하는 자들이다.
  1. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
  2. Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.
  1. 그들은 욕심꾸러기 개처럼 만족할 줄 모르며 수단과 방법을 가리지 않고 자기 이익만 추구하는 몰지각한 목자들이다.
  2. 그들은 '오너라. 내가 술을 가져오겠다. 자, 독주를 실컷 마시자. 내일은 오늘보다 더 풍성할 것이다.' 하고 서로 말한다.'
 
  이스라엘의 우상 숭배와 구원(57:1-57:21)    
 
  1. The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
  2. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
  3. But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.
  4. Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood.
  5. Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?
  1. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '의롭고 경건한 사람이 죽어도 그 일에 관심을 가지고 깊이 생각하는 자가 없으며 재앙이 닥치기 전에 내가 그들을 데려가도 그 사실을 깨닫는 자가 아무도 없구나.
  2. 경건하게 사는 자들은 죽어서 평안과 안식을 얻는다.
  3. 무당의 자식들아, 간음하는 자와 창녀의 자식들아, 이리 오너라.
  4. 너희가 누구를 조롱하느냐? 너희가 누구에게 입을 크게 벌리고 혀를 내미느냐? 너희는 거역하고 거짓말하는 자들의 자식이 아니냐?
  5. 너희는 모든 푸른 나무 아래에서 우상을 섬기며 골짜기와 바위 틈에서 너희 자녀를 제물로 바쳐 죽이고 있다.
  1. Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?
  2. Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.
  3. Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.
  4. And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.
  5. Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.
  1. 너희는 골짜기에서 매끄러운 돌을 주워 그것을 신으로 섬기고 있으며 그것을 너희 유산처럼 생각하여 거기에 술을 따르며 곡식으로 소제를 드리고 있으니 내가 어떻게 이린 일을 용납할 수 있겠느냐?
  2. 너희가 높은 산으로 올라가서 거기에 자리를 펴고 제사를 지냈으며
  3. 너희가 문 뒤에 우상을 세워 놓고 나 아닌 다른 자를 섬기며 나를 사랑하기보다 우상에게 너희 사랑을 바쳐 너희가 간음하고 있다.
  4. 너희는 감람기름과 향품을 가지고 가서 몰렉 신에게 선물로 바치고 또 섬길 다른 신을 찾기 위해 사신을 보내 멀리 지옥에까지 내려가게 하였다.
  5. 너희가 다른 신을 찾다가 지쳐도 포기하지 않고 다시 힘을 얻어 그 일을 계속하는구나.
  1. And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?
  2. I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.
  3. When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
  4. And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.
  5. For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
  1. 너희가 그처럼 두려워하는 이 신들이 누구이기에 너희가 나에게 거짓말을 하며 나를 까마득하게 잊어버렸느냐? 너희가 나를 두려워하지 않은 것은 내가 오랫동안 침묵을 지켰기 때문이 아니냐?
  2. 너희는 옳은 일을 한다고 생각하겠지만 내가 너희 소행을 드러낼 것이니 너희 옳은 행위가 너희에게 도움이 되지 못할 것이다.
  3. 너희가 도와 달라고 부르짖을 때에 너희가 수집한 우상들이 너희를 구할 수 있겠느냐? 그 모든 것은 바람에 날려가고 입김에도 불려갈 것이다. 그러나 나를 신뢰하는 자는 땅을 소유할 것이며 나의 거룩한 산을 유산으로 물려받을 것이다.'
  4. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '장애물을 제거하고 도로를 닦아 내 백성이 돌아갈 길을 준비하라.
  5. 나는 가장 높고 거룩하며 영원히 사는 하나님이다. 내가 높고 거룩한 곳에 살면서도 겸손한 마음으로 죄를 깊이 뉘우치는 자와 함께 하는 것은 내가 회개하는 자의 마음을 소생시키기 위해서이다.
  1. For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.
  2. For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.
  3. I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.
  4. I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.
  5. But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
  1. 나는 영원히 다투거나 항상 분노하지는 않을 것이다. 내가 만일 그렇게 한다면 내가 창조한 사람들의 영과 혼이 피곤하여 내 앞에서 견딜 수 없을 것이다.
  2. 내가 그들의 죄와 탐욕 때문에 분노하여 그들을 벌하고 버렸으나 그들은 오히려 고집을 피우며 계속 자기들 멋대로 행하였다.
  3. 내가 그들의 소행을 보았지만 그들을 고쳐 주겠다. 내가 그들을 인도하며 도와 주고 슬퍼하는 자들을 위로할 것이다.
  4. 먼 데 있든지 가까운 데 있든지 내가 그들에게 평안을 줄 것이며 그들을 모두 고칠 것이다.
  5. 그러나 악인들은 끊임없이 물결을 일으켜 진흙과 더러운 것을 솟구쳐 오르게 하는 요동하는 바다와 같아서
  1. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
  1. 그들에게는 평안이 없을 것이다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
 
  참된 신앙 생활(58:1-58:14)    
 
  1. Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
  2. Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
  3. Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
  4. Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
  5. Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
  1. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '너는 될 수 있는 대로 크게 외쳐라. 나팔처럼 네 목청을 높여 내 백성에게 그들의 죄를 말해 주어라.
  2. 그들은 마치 옳은 일을 행하며 내 명령을 저버리지 않은 것처럼 날마다 나를 찾고 내 법도를 알기 원한다. 그들은 또 나의 공정한 판단을 요구하고 나를 가까이하는 것을 기뻐하는 것처럼 하며
  3. 이렇게 말한다. '우리는 금식하였는데 어째서 주는 보지 않으십니까? 우리는 우리 자신을 낮추었는데 어째서 주는 알아 주지 않으십니까?' 그러나 사실 너희는 금식을 하면서도 너희가 하고 싶은 대로 하며 너희 일꾼들에게 고된 일을 시키고 있다.
  4. 너희가 계속 다투고 싸우며 서로 주먹질하면서 하는 금식이 무슨 소용이 있느냐? 너희가 이런 금식을 한다고 해서 내가 너희 기도를 들어 주리라고 생각하느냐?
  5. 너희는 금식할 때 자신을 괴롭히고 머리를 갈대처럼 숙이며 굵은 삼베와 재를 깔고 눕는다. 이것을 금식이라 수 있겠느냐? 너희는 이런 금식을 내가 기뻐할 것이라고 생각하느냐?
  1. Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
  2. Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
  3. Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
  4. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
  5. And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:
  1. 내가 기뻐하는 금식은 압박의 사슬을 풀어 주고 모든 멍에를 꺾어 버리며 억압당하는 자를 자유롭게 하는 것이다.
  2. 너희는 굶주린 자에게 너희 음식을 나눠 주고 집 없이 떠돌아다니는 가난한 사람을 너희 집으로 맞아들이며 헐벗은 자를 보면 입히고 도움이 필요한 너희 친척이 있으면 외면하지 말고 도와주어라.
  3. 그러면 내 은혜의 빛이 아침 햇살처럼 너희에게 비칠 것이니 너희 상처가 속히 치료되고 내가 항상 너희와 함께 하여 사방으로 너희를 보호하겠다.
  4. 그리고 너희가 기도할 때 내가 응답할 것이며 너희가 도와 달라고 부르짖을 때 '내가 여기 있다.' 하고 대답할 것이다. '만일 너희가 약자를 억누르고 남을 멸시하며 악한 말 하던 것을 그치고
  5. 굶주린 자에게 먹을 것을 주며 고통당하는 자를 도와 주면 너희 주변의 어두움이 대낮처럼 밝을 것이다.
  1. And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
  2. And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
  3. If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
  4. Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
  1. 그리고 내가 항상 너희를 인도하며 좋은 것으로 너희를 만족하게 하고 너희를 든든하게 지켜 줄 것이니 너희가 물을 댄 동산 같을 것이며 절대로 마르지 않는 샘과 같을 것이다.
  2. 너희 자손들이 오랫동안 폐허가 된 곳을 재건하고 옛 기초를 다시 쌓을 것이며 너희는 '성벽을 재건하고 시가지를 복구하는 백성'으로 알려질 것이다.'
  3. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '만일 너희가 내 안식일을 거룩하고 소중한 날로 여겨 여행이나 사업을 하지 않고 오락이나 잡담을 하지 않으면
  4. 너희는 내 안에서 즐거움을 찾을 것이다. 내가 너희를 세상의 그 어느 민족보다도 높이고 내가 너희 조상 야곱에게 준 땅을 향유하도록 하겠다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
