예레미야 35:1-36:32

 하나님께서는 레갑 족속이 선조의 명령을 온전히 순종함을 칭찬하시면서 하나님께 불순종하는 유다 백성들의 죄를 책망하셨다. 바룩은 예레미야가 경고한 유다의 죄를 두루마리에 기록하여 왕과 백성들에게 읽어 주었지만, 여호야김 왕은 이 두루마리를 불에 태웠다. 이에 하나님께서 왕과 그 신하들에게 심판을 선포하셨고 바룩에게 그 말씀을 다시 기록하도록 하셨다.
  
  레갑 족속의 순종(35:1-35:19)    
 
  1. The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
  2. Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
  3. Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
  4. And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:
  5. And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.
  1. 요시야의 아들 여호야김이 유다 왕이 되었을 때 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너는 레갑 집안 사람들에게 가서 그들을 초대하여 성전의 한 방으로 데리고 가서 포도주를 마시게 하라.'
  3. 그래서 나는 하바시냐의 손자이며 다른 예레미야의 아들인 야아사냐와 그의 형제들과 그의 아들들과 레갑의 온 집안 사람들을 데리고
  4. 성전으로 갔다. 나는 그들을 익다랴의 아들인 예언자 하난의 아들들이 사용하는 방으로 안내했는데 이 방은 궁중 신하들의 방 곁에 있었고 살룸의 아들인 성전 문지기 마아세야의 방 바로 위에 있었다.
  5. 내가 포도주와 잔을 레갑 집안 사람들 앞에 갖다 놓고 마시라고 권하자
  1. But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:
  2. Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.
  3. Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
  4. Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:
  5. But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
  1. 그들은 이렇게 말하였다. '우리는 포도주를 마시지 않습니다. 레갑의 아들인 우리 조상 요나답이 우리에게 이렇게 명령했습니다. '너희와 너희 후손들은 영원히 포도주를 마시지 말아라.
  2. 또 너희는 집도 짓지 말고 파종도 하지 말며 포도원을 만들어 포도를 재배하지도 말고 항상 천막에서 살아라. 그러면 너희가 잠시 머무는 이 땅에서 장수하게 될 것이다.'
  3. 그래서 우리는 레갑의 아들인 우리 조상 요나답이 우리에게 한 모든 명령에 순종하여 우리와 우리 아내와 자녀들이 평생 포도주를 마시지 않고
  4. 살 집도 짓지 않으며 포도원이나 밭이나 곡식을 소유하지 않고
  5. 천막에 살면서 우리 조상 요나답이 우리에게 명령한 것을 하나도 빠짐없이 다 지켰습니다.
  1. But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.
  2. Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
  3. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.
  4. The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.
  5. I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
  1. 그러나 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕이 이 땅을 침략했을 때 우리는 '바빌로니아군과 시리아군이 두려우니 예루살렘으로 가자.' 하고 예루살렘으로 와서 살게 되었습니다.'
  2. 그때 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  3. '전능한 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 너는 가서 유다와 예루살렘 백성들에게 이렇게 말하라. : 너희가 내 말을 듣고 교훈을 받지 않겠느냐?
  4. 레갑의 아들 요나답이 그 후손들에게 포도주를 마시지 말라고 명령했는데 그들은 그 조상의 명령에 순종하여 오늘날까지도 포도주를 마시지 않고 있다. 그러나 내가 너희에게 계속 말하였으나 너희는 내 말에 순종하지 않았다.
  5. 내가 내 종 예언자들을 너희에게 부지런히 보내며 '너희는 각자 악한 길에서 돌아서고 너희 행실을 고치며 다른 신들을 좇아 그들을 섬기지 말아라. 그러면 너희는 내가 너희와 너희 조상들에게 준 땅에서 계속 살게 될 것이다.' 하였으나 너희는 네 말에 귀를 기울이지도 않았고 듣지도 않았다.
  1. Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:
  2. Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
  3. And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
  4. Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.
  1. 레갑의 아들인 요나답의 후손들은 그들의 조상이 그들에게 준 그 명령을 지켜 행하는데 너희 백성들은 내 말을 듣지 않는구나.
  2. 그러므로 전능한 나 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. '보라, 내가 유다와 예루살렘에 사는 모든 사람들에게 이미 선언한 재앙을 내리겠다. 이것은 내가 말하여도 그들이 듣지 않고 내가 불러도 그들이 대답하지 않았기 때문이다.'
  3. 그때 나는 레갑 집안 사람들에게 전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다고 일러 주었다. '너희는 너희 조상 요나답의 명령에 순종하여 그의 모든 지시에 따르고 그가 명령한 것을 다 행하였다.
  4. 그러므로 전능한 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 레갑의 아들 요나답에게 나를 섬길 후손이 영원히 끊어지지 않을 것이다.'
 
  예언을 받아 쓴 바룩(36:1-36:32)    
 
  1. And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
  2. Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.
  3. It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
  4. Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.
  5. And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD:
  1. 요시야의 아들인 유다의 여호야김왕 4년에 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너는 두루마리를 가져다가 요시야가 왕이 되었을 때부터 지금까지 내가 이스라엘과 유다와 모든 나라에 대하여 너에게 말한 것을 다 기록하라.
  3. 유다 백성들이 내가 그들에게 내리기로 작정한 모든 재앙에 대하여 듣게 되면 아마 그들이 악한 길에서 돌아설 것이다. 그들이 만일 악한 길에서 돌아서기만 하면 내가 그들의 악과 죄를 용서하겠다.'
  4. 그래서 나는 네리야의 아들 바룩을 불러 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하신 모든 것을 받아 쓰게 하였다. 바룩은 내가 불러 주는 여호와의 모든 말씀을 두루마리에 그대로 다 기록하였다.
  5. 그리고 나는 바룩에게 이렇게 말하였다. '나는 이제 여호와의 집에 들어갈 수 없는 몸이 되었다.
  1. Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD's house upon the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.
  2. It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.
  3. And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD's house.
  4. And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.
  5. Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house, in the ears of all the people.
  1. 그러므로 너는 금식일에 성전에 들어가서 내가 불러 준 대로 네가 두루마리에 기록한 여호와의 말씀을 백성들에게 낭독해 주고 또 유다의 여러 성에서 온 사람들에게도 그것을 낭독해 주어라.
  2. 이 백성에 대한 여호와의 분노가 대단하기 때문에 아마 그들이 여호와께 기도하고 각자 악한 길에서 돌아설지도 모른다.'
  3. 네리야의 아들 바룩은 내가 그에게 지시한 대로 두루마리에 기록된 여호와의 말씀을 성전에서 낭독하였다.
  4. 요시야의 아들인 유다의 여호야김왕 5년 9월에 예루살렘에 있는 모든 백성들과 유다의 여러 성에서 예루살렘으로 온 모든 백성들에게 금식이 선포되었다.
  5. 이때 바룩은 사반의 아들인 궁중 서기관 그마랴의 방에서 모든 백성들에게 그 두루마리에 기록된 말씀을 낭독했는데 그 방은 성전 새문 입구 곁의 윗뜰에 있는 방이었다.
  1. When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of the LORD,
  2. Then he went down into the king's house, into the scribe's chamber: and, lo, all the princes sat there, even Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.
  3. Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.
  4. Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.
  5. And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.
  1. 사반의 손자이며 그마랴의 아들인 미가야는 그 책에 기록된 여호와의 말씀을 다 듣고
  2. 궁전의 서기관 방으로 내려 갔다. 그때 거기에는 모든 궁중 대신들이 앉아 있었다. 그들은 서기관 엘리사마와 스마야의 아들 들라야와 악볼의 아들 엘라단과 사반의 아들 그마랴와 하나냐의 아들 시드기야였으며 그외에도 여러 대신들이 앉아 있었다.
  3. 미가야가 바룩이 백성들에게 낭독한 것을 들은 그대로 그들에게 말하자
  4. 모든 대신들이 구시의 증손이요 셀레먀의 손자이며 느다냐의 아들인 여후디를 바룩에게 보내며 백성에게 낭독한 두루마리를 가져오라고 지시하였다. 네리야의 아들인 바룩이 두루마리를 가져오자
  5. 그들은 바룩에게 앉아서 그것을 낭독하라고 하였다. 바룩이 낭독하자
  1. Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and other, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.
  2. And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his mouth?
  3. Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.
  4. Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye be.
  5. And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king.
  1. 그들은 그 모든 말씀을 듣고 놀라 서로 바라보며 바룩에게 이 모든 말을 왕에게 보고하겠다고 하였다.
  2. 그리고서 그들은 바룩에게 물었다. '네가 어떻게 해서 이 모든 말을 기록하게 되었느냐? 예레미야가 이것을 받아 쓰게 하였느냐?'
  3. '그렇습니다. 그가 이 모든 것을 나에게 불러 주기에 내가 먹으로 그것을 이 두루마리에 기록하였습니다.'
  4. '너는 가서 예레미야와 함께 숨고 아무에게도 너희가 숨어 있는 곳을 알리지 말아라.'
  5. 대신들은 그 두루마리를 서기관 엘리사마의 방에 두고 뜰에 있는 왕에게 가서 이 모든 것을 말하였다.
  1. So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of Elishama the scribe's chamber. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king.
  2. Now the king sat in the winterhouse in the ninth month: and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him.
  3. And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.
  4. Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.
  5. Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.
  1. 왕이 여후디를 보내 그 두루마리를 가져오게 하자 여후디가 서기관 엘리사마의 방에서 그것을 가져다가 왕과 그 주위에 둘러선 모든 대신들에게 낭독하였다.
  2. 그 때는 겨울이었다. 그래서 왕은 겨울 궁전에 앉았고 그 앞에는 불을 피운 화로가 놓여 있었다.
  3. 여후디가 세 편 네 편씩 읽어나갈 때마다 왕은 작은 칼로 그것을 계속 잘라서 화로에 던져 넣어 결국 두루마리 전체를 다 태워 버렸다.
  4. 왕과 그의 신하들은 이 모든 말을 듣고도 두려워하거나 조금도 뉘우치는 기색이 없었다.
  5. 엘라단과 들라야와 그마랴가 왕에게 두루마리를 사르지 말라고 간청했으나 그는 듣지 않고
  1. But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the LORD hid them.
  2. Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,
  3. Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.
  4. And thou shalt say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?
  5. Therefore thus saith the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
  1. 오히려 그의 아들 여라므엘과 아스리엘의 아들 스라야와 압디엘의 아들 셀레먀에게 서기관 바룩과 나 예레미야를 잡으라고 명령하였다. 그러나 여호와께서는 우리를 숨겨 주셨다.
  2. 내가 불러 준 대로 바룩이 기록한 두루마리의 말씀을 왕이 불사른 후에 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  3. '너는 다른 두루마리를 가져다가 유다 왕 여호야김이 불사른 그 첫 두루마리에 기록된 모든 말을 다시 기록하라.
  4. 그리고 너는 유다 왕 여호야김에게 나 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라. : 네가 이 두루마리를 불사르고 예레미야에게 '너는 어째서 바빌로니아 왕이 이 땅을 반드시 멸망시키고 사람과 짐승을 모조리 죽일 것이라고 기록하였느냐?' 하였다.
  5. 그러므로 나 여호와가 유다 왕 너 여호야김에게 말한다. 너에게는 다윗의 왕위에 앉을 후손이 없을 것이며 네 시체는 밖에 던져져서 낮에는 더위를 입고 밤에는 추위를 당할 것이다.
  1. And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not.
  2. Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.
  1. 내가 너와 너의 가족뿐만 아니라 너의 신하들의 죄에 대해서도 벌할 것이다. 내가 너희와 예루살렘 주민들과 유다 백성에게 미리 경고하였으나 아무도 듣지 않았다. 그러므로 내가 선언한 모든 재앙을 너희 모두에게 내릴 것이다.'
  2. 그래서 나는 다른 두루마리를 가져다가 네리야의 아들인 서기관 바룩에게 주었으며 그는 내가 불러 주는 대로 유다의 여호야김왕이 불사른 두루마리에 기록된 모든 말씀을 그대로 다 기록하고 또 그와 비슷한 말도 많이 첨가하였다.
