- 성미가 급한 사람은 어리석은 짓을 하고 악한 일을 꾀하는 자는 미움을 받는다.
- 어리석은 사람은 어리석음에 대한 댓가를 받고 슬기로운 사람은 지식의 면류관을 쓰게 된다.
- 악한 사람은 선한 사람 앞에 굴복하고 불의한 사람은 의로운 사람의 문 앞에 엎드린다.
- 가난한 사람은 자기 이웃에게까지 업신여김을 당하지만 부유한 사람에게는 많은 친구가 따른다.
