마태복음 18:15-18:35

 예수께서 죄 지은 형제를 돌이키는 방법을 말씀하시고, 무자비한 종의 비유를 통해서 중심으로 형제를 용서해야 함을 교훈하셨다.
  
  범죄한 형제에 대한 태도(18:15-18:22)    
 
  1. Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
  2. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
  3. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
  4. Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
  5. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
  1. "네 형제가 [너에게] 죄를 짓거든, 가서, 단 둘이 있는 자리에서 그에게 충고하여라. 그가 너의 말을 들으면, 너는 그 형제를 얻은 것이다.
  2. 그러나 듣지 않거든, 한두 사람을 더 데리고 가거라. 그가 하는 모든 말을, 두세 증인의 입을 빌어서 확정지으려는 것이다.
  3. 그러나 그 형제가 그들의 말도 듣지 않거든, 교회에 말하여라. 교회의 말조차 듣지 않거든, 그를 이방 사람이나 세리와 같이 여겨라."
  4. "내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 무엇이든지, 너희가 땅에서 매는 것은 하늘에서도 매일 것이요, 땅에서 푸는 것은 하늘에서도 풀릴 것이다.
  5. 내가 [진정으로] 거듭 너희에게 말한다. 땅에서 너희 가운데 두 사람이 합심하여 무슨 일이든지 구하면, 하늘에 계신 내 아버지께서 그들에게 이루어 주실 것이다.
  1. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
  2. Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
  3. Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
  1. 두세 사람이 내 이름으로 모여 있는 자리, 거기에 내가 그들 가운데 있다."
  2. 그 때에 베드로가 예수께 다가와서 말하였다. "주님, 내 형제가 나에게 자꾸 죄를 지으면, 내가 몇 번이나 용서하여 주어야 합니까? 일곱 번까지 하여야 합니까?"
  3. 예수께서 대답하셨다. "일곱 번만이 아니라, 일흔 번을 일곱 번이라도 하여야 한다.
 
  무자비한 종의 비유(18:23-18:35)    
 
  1. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
  2. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
  3. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
  4. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
  5. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
  1. 그러므로, 하늘 나라는 마치 자기 종들과 셈을 가리려고 하는 어떤 왕과 같다.
  2. 왕이 셈을 가리기 시작하니, 만 달란트 빚진 종 하나가 왕 앞에 끌려왔다.
  3. 그런데 그는 빚을 갚을 돈이 없으므로, 주인은 그 종에게, 자신과 그 아내와 자녀들과 그 밖에 그가 가진 것을 모두 팔아서 갚으라고 명령하였다.
  4. 그랬더니 종이 그 앞에 무릎을 꿇고, '참아 주십시오. 다 갚겠습니다' 하고 애원하였다.
  5. 주인은 그 종을 가엾게 여겨서, 그를 놓아주고, 빚을 없애 주었다.
  1. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
  2. And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
  3. And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
  4. So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
  5. Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
  1. 그러나 그 종은 나가서, 자기에게 백 데나리온 빚진 동료 하나를 만나자, 붙들어서 멱살을 잡고 말하기를 '내게 빚진 것을 갚아라' 하였다.
  2. 그 동료는 엎드려 간청하였다. '참아 주게. 내가 갚겠네.'
  3. 그러나 그는 들어주려 하지 않고, 가서 그 동료를 감옥에 집어넣고, 빚진 돈을 갚을 때까지 갇혀 있게 하였다.
  4. 다른 종들이 이 광경을 보고, 매우 딱하게 여겨서, 가서 주인에게 그 일을 다 일렀다.
  5. 그러자 주인이 그 종을 불러다 놓고 말하였다. '이 악한 종아, 네가 애원하기에, 나는 너에게 그 빚을 다 없애 주었다.
  1. Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
  2. And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
  3. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
  1. 내가 너를 불쌍히 여긴 것처럼, 너도 네 동료를 불쌍히 여겼어야 할 것이 아니냐?'
  2. 주인이 노하여, 그를 형무소 관리에게 넘겨주고, 빚진 것을 다 갚을 때까지 가두어 두게 하였다.
  3. 너희가 각각 진심으로 자기 형제자매를 용서해 주지 않으면, 나의 하늘 아버지께서도 너희에게 그와 같이 하실 것이다."
 
  증참(證參, 18:16)  어떤 일을 증명하는 데 바탕이 되는 증거  
  탕감(蕩減, 18:32)  빚을 갚아 줌, 죄를 용서해 줌
