창세기 49:1-50:26

 야곱은 열두 아들을 불러 모아 각자에게 축복 예언을 하고 일생을 마쳤다. 요셉은 야곱의 유언대로 그를 선영에 장사했다. 요셉도 110세에 죽어 애굽에 장사되었다.
  
  야곱의 12지파 축복 예언(49:1-49:33)    
 
  1. And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.
  2. Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.
  3. Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
  4. Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.
  5. Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.
  1. 야곱이 아들들을 불러 놓고서 일렀다. "너희는 모여라. 너희가 뒷날에 겪을 일을, 내가 너희에게 말하겠다.
  2. 야곱의 아들들아, 너희는 모여서 들어라. 너희의 아버지 이스라엘이 하는 말에 귀를 기울여라.
  3. 르우벤아, 너는 나의 맏아들이요, 나의 힘, 나의 정력의 첫 열매다. 그 영예가 드높고, 그 힘이 드세다.
  4. 그러나 거친 파도와 같으므로, 또 네가 아버지의 침상에 올라와서 네 아버지의 침상을 더럽혔으므로, 네가 으뜸이 되지는 못할 것이다.
  5. 시므온과 레위는 단짝 형제다. 그들이 휘두르는 칼은 난폭한 무기다.
  1. O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.
  2. Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
  3. Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.
  4. Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?
  5. The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
  1. 나는 그들의 비밀 회담에 들어가지 않으며, 그들의 회의에 끼여들지 않을 것이다. 그들은 화가 난다고 사람을 죽이고, 장난삼아 소의 발목 힘줄을 끊었다.
  2. 그 노여움이 혹독하고, 그 분노가 맹렬하니, 저주를 받을 것이다. 그들을 야곱 자손 사이에 분산시키고, 이스라엘 백성 사이에 흩어 버릴 것이다.
  3. 유다야, 너의 형제들이 너를 찬양할 것이다. 너는 원수의 멱살을 잡을 것이다. 너의 아버지의 아들들이 네 앞에 무릎을 꿇을 것이다.
  4. 유다야, 너는 사자 새끼 같을 것이다. 나의 아들아, 너는 움킨 것을 찢어 먹고, 굴로 되돌아갈 것이다. 엎드리고 웅크리는 모양이 수사자 같기도 하고, 암사자 같기도 하니, 누가 감히 범할 수 있으랴!
  5. 임금의 지휘봉이 유다를 떠나지 않고, 통치자의 지휘봉이 자손 만대에까지 이를 것이다. 권능으로 그 자리에 앉을 분이 오시면, 만민이 그에게 순종할 것이다.
  1. Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:
  2. His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
  3. Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon.
  4. Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens:
  5. And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.
  1. 그는 나귀를 포도나무에 매며, 그 암나귀 새끼를 가장 좋은 포도나무 가지에 맬 것이다. 그는 옷을 포도주에다 빨며, 그 겉옷은 포도의 붉은 즙으로 빨 것이다.
  2. 그의 눈은 포도주 빛보다 진하고, 그의 이는 우유 빛보다 흴 것이다.
  3. 스불론은 바닷가에 살며, 그 해변은 배가 정박하는 항구가 될 것이다. 그의 영토는 시돈에까지 이를 것이다.
  4. 잇사갈은 안장 사이에 웅크린, 뼈만 남은 나귀 같을 것이다.
  5. 살기에 편한 곳을 보거나, 안락한 땅을 만나면, 어깨를 들이밀어서 짐이나 지고, 압제를 받으며, 섬기는 노예가 될 것이다.
  1. Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
  2. Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
  3. I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.
  4. Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.
  5. Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.
  1. 단은 이스라엘의 한 지파 구실을 톡톡히 하여, 백성을 정의로 다스릴 것이다.
  2. 단은 길가에 숨은 뱀 같고, 오솔길에서 기다리는 독사 같아서, 말발굽을 물어, 말에 탄 사람을 뒤로 떨어뜨릴 것이다.
  3. 주님, 제가 주님의 구원을 기다립니다.
  4. 갓은 적군의 공격을 받을 것이다. 마침내 적군의 뒤통수를 칠 것이다.
  5. 아셀에게서는 먹거리가 넉넉히 나올 것이니 그가 임금의 수라상을 맡을 것이다.
  1. Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.
  2. Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:
  3. The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:
  4. But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
  5. Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
  1. 납달리는 풀어 놓은 암사슴이어서, 그 재롱이 귀여울 것이다.
  2. 요셉은 들망아지, 샘 곁에 있는 들망아지, 언덕 위에 있는 들나귀다.
  3. 사수들이 잔인하게 활을 쏘며 달려들어도, 사수들이 적개심을 품고서 그를 과녁으로 삼아도,
  4. 요셉의 활은 그보다 튼튼하고, 그의 팔에는 힘이 넘친다. 야곱이 섬기는 '전능하신 분'의 능력이 그와 함께 하시고, 목자이신 이스라엘의 반석께서 그와 함께 계시고,
  5. 너의 조상의 하나님이 너를 도우시고, 전능하신 분께서 너에게 복을 베푸시기 때문이다. 위로 하늘에서 내리는 복과, 아래로 깊은 샘에서 솟아오르는 복과, 젖가슴에서 흐르는 복과, 태에서 잉태되는 복을 베푸실 것이다.
  1. The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
  2. Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.
  3. All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.
  4. And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
  5. In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace.
  1. 너의 아버지가 받은 복은 태고적 산맥이 받은 복보다 더 크며, 영원한 언덕이 받은 풍성함보다도 더 크다. 이 모든 복이 요셉에게로 돌아가며, 형제들 가운데서 으뜸이 된 사람에게 돌아갈 것이다.
  2. 베냐민은 물어뜯는 이리다. 아침에는 빼앗은 것을 삼키고, 저녁에는 움킨 것을 나눌 것이다."
  3. 이들은 모두 이스라엘의 열두 지파이다. 이것은 그들의 아버지가 그들을 축복할 때에 한 말이다. 그는 아들 하나하나에게 알맞게 축복하였다.
  4. 야곱이 아들들에게 일렀다. "나는 곧 세상을 떠나서, 나의 조상들에게로 돌아간다. 내가 죽거든, 나의 조상들과 함께 있게 헷 사람 에브론의 밭에 있는 묘실에 묻어라.
  5. 그 묘실은 가나안 땅 마므레 앞 막벨라 밭에 있다. 그 묘실은 아브라함 어른께서 묘실로 쓰려고, 헷 사람 에브론에게서 밭과 함께 사두신 것이다.
  1. There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.
  2. The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth.
  3. And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.
  1. 거기에는 아브라함과 그분의 아내 사라, 이 두 분이 묻혀 있고, 이삭과 그분의 아내 리브가, 이 두 분도 거기에 묻혀 있다. 나도 너희 어머니 레아를 거기에다 묻었다.
  2. 밭과 그 안에 있는 묘실은 헷 사람들에게서 산 것이다."
  3. 야곱은 자기 아들들에게 이렇게 이르고 나서, 침상에 똑바로 누워 숨을 거두고, 조상에게로 돌아갔다.
 
  야곱의 장례와 요셉의 죽음(50:1-50:26)    
 
  1. And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.
  2. And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.
  3. And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.
  4. And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
  5. My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again.
  1. 요셉이 아버지의 얼굴에 엎드려서, 울며 입을 맞추고,
  2. 시의들을 시켜서, 아버지 이스라엘의 시신에 방부제 향 재료를 넣게 하였다. 시의들이 방부제 향 재료를 넣는데,
  3. 꼬박 사십 일이 걸렸다. 시신이 썩지 않도록 향 재료를 넣는 데는 이만큼 시간이 걸린다. 그리고 이집트 사람들이 그의 죽음을 애도하며, 칠십 일을 곡하였다.
  4. 곡하는 기간이 지나니, 요셉이 바로의 궁에 알렸다. "그대들이 나를 너그럽게 본다면, 나를 대신하여 바로께 말씀을 전해 주시오.
  5. 우리 아버지가 운명하시면서 '내가 죽거든, 내가 가나안 땅에다가 준비하여 둔 묘실이 있으니, 거기에 나를 묻어라' 하시고, 우리 아버지가 나에게 맹세하라고 하셔서, 내가 그렇게 하겠다고 맹세하였소. 내가 올라가서 아버지를 장사지내고 올 수 있도록, 허락을 받아 주시오."
  1. And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father, according as he made thee swear.
  2. And Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,
  3. And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.
  4. And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen: and it was a very great company.
  5. And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.
  1. 요셉이 이렇게 간청하니, 고인이 맹세시킨 대로, 올라가서 선친을 장사지내도록 하라는 바로의 허락이 내렸다.
  2. 요셉이 자기 아버지를 묻으러 올라갈 때에, 바로의 모든 신하와, 그 궁에 있는 원로들과, 이집트 온 나라에 있는 모든 원로와,
  3. 요셉의 온 집안과, 그 형제들과, 아버지의 집안 사람이, 그들에게 딸린 어린 아이들과 양 떼와 소 떼는 고센 땅에 남겨둔 채로 요셉과 함께 올라가고,
  4. 거기에다 병거와 기병까지 요셉을 호위하며 올라가니, 그 굉장한 상여 행렬이 볼 만하였다.
  5. 그들은 요단 강 동쪽 아닷 타작 마당에 이르러서, 크게 애통하며 호곡하였다. 요셉은 아버지를 생각하며, 거기에서 이레 동안 애곡하였다.
  1. And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name of it was called Abelmizraim, which is beyond Jordan.
  2. And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:
  3. For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.
  4. And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.
  5. And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.
  1. 그들이 타작 마당에서 그렇게 애곡하는 것을 보고, 그 지방에 사는 가나안 사람들은 "이집트 사람들이 이렇게 크게 애곡하고 있구나" 하면서, 그 곳 이름을 아벨미스라임이라고 하였으니, 그 곳은 요단 강 동쪽이다.
  2. 야곱의 아들들은, 아버지가 명령한 대로 하였다.
  3. 아들들이 아버지의 시신을 가나안 땅으로 모셔다가, 마므레 앞 막벨라 밭에 있는 굴에 장사하였다. 그 굴과 거기에 딸린 밭은 아브라함이 묘 자리로 쓰려고 헷 사람 에브론에게서 사둔 곳이다.
  4. 요셉은 아버지의 장례를 치르고 난 다음에, 그의 아버지를 장사지내려고 그와 함께 갔던 형제들과 다른 모든 사람들을 데리고, 이집트로 돌아왔다.
  5. 요셉의 형제들은 아버지를 여의고 나서, 요셉이 자기들을 미워하여, 그들에게서 당한 온갖 억울함을 앙갚음하면 어찌하나 하는 생각이 들어서,
  1. And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying,
  2. So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.
  3. And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants.
  4. And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
  5. But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
  1. 요셉에게 전갈을 보냈다. "아버지께서 돌아가시기 전에 남기신 유언이 있습니다.
  2. 아우님에게 전하라고 하시면서 '너의 형들이 너에게 몹쓸 일을 저질렀지만, 이제 이 아버지는 네가 형들의 허물과 죄를 용서하여 주기를 바란다' 하셨습니다. 그러니 아우님은, 우리 아버지께서 섬기신 그 하나님의 종들인 우리가 지은 죄를 용서하여 주시기 바랍니다." 요셉은 이 말을 전해 듣고서 울었다.
  3. 곧 이어서 요셉의 형들이 직접 와서, 요셉 앞에 엎드려서 말하였다. "우리는 아우님의 종입니다."
  4. 요셉이 그들에게 말하였다. "두려워하지 마십시오. 내가 하나님을 대신하기라도 하겠습니까?
  5. 형님들은 나를 해치려고 하였지만, 하나님은 오히려 그것을 선하게 바꾸셔서, 오늘과 같이 수많은 사람의 생명을 구원하셨습니다.
  1. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.
  2. And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.
  3. And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.
  4. And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
  5. And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
  1. 그러니 형님들은 두려워하지 마십시오. 내가 형님들을 모시고, 형님들의 자식들을 돌보겠습니다." 이렇게 요셉은 그들을 간곡한 말로 위로하였다.
  2. 요셉이 아버지의 집안과 함께 이집트에 머물렀다. 요셉은 백 년 하고도 십 년을 더 살면서,
  3. 에브라임의 자손 삼 대를 보았고, 므낫세의 아들 마길에게서 태어난 아이들까지도 요셉이 자기의 자식으로 길렀다.
  4. 요셉이 자기 친족들에게 말하였다. "나는 곧 죽는다. 그러나 하나님께서 반드시 너희를 돌보시고, 너희를 이 땅에서 인도하여 내셔서, 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 맹세하신 땅에 이르게 하실 것이다."
  5. 요셉은 이스라엘 자손에게 맹세를 시키면서 일렀다. "하나님께서 반드시 너희를 돌보실 날이 온다. 그 때에 너희는 나의 뼈를 이 곳에서 옮겨서, 그리로 가지고 가야 한다."
  1. So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.
  1. 요셉이 백열 살에 세상을 떠나니, 사람들은 그의 시신에 방부제 향 재료를 넣은 다음에, 이집트에서 그를 입관하였다.
