출애굽기 13:1-14:31

 하나님께서 이스라엘 백성들에게 무교절과 초태생 규례를 지키라고 말씀하셨다. 이는 그들이 애굽의 장자 사망의 재앙중에서 무사히 탈출하게 된 것을 기념하기 위해서였다. 하나님께서는 그들에게 불과 구름 기둥으로 임재하셔서 홍해의 광야 길로 인도하셨다. 마음이 강퍅하게 된 바로가 백성들을 추격했으나 하나님께서 모세의 지팡이로 홍해를 갈라지게 하여 구원하셨다.
  
  무교절과 초태생 규례(13:1-13:22)    
 
  1. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
  2. Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.
  3. And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.
  4. This day came ye out in the month Abib.
  5. And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
  1. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "이스라엘 자손 가운데서 태를 제일 먼저 열고 나온 것 곧 처음 난 것은, 모두 거룩하게 구별하여 나에게 바쳐라. 사람이든지 짐승이든지, 처음 난 것은 모두 나의 것이다."
  3. 모세가 백성에게 선포하였다. "당신들은 이집트에서 곧 당신들이 종살이하던 집에서 나온 이 날을 기억하십시오. 주님께서 강한 손으로 거기에서 당신들을 이끌어 내신 날이니, 누룩을 넣은 빵을 먹어서는 안 됩니다.
  4. 첫째 달인 아빕월의 오늘 당신들이 이집트를 떠났습니다.
  5. 주님께서, 당신들의 조상에게 주신다고 맹세하신 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅 곧 가나안 사람과 헷 사람과 아모리 사람과 히위 사람과 여부스 사람의 땅에 이르게 하시거든, 당신들은 이 달에 다음과 같은 예식을 지키십시오.
  1. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD.
  2. Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.
  3. And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.
  4. And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD's law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.
  5. Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.
  1. 당신들은 이레 동안 누룩을 넣지 않은 빵을 먹어야 하며, 이렛날에는 주님의 절기를 지키십시오.
  2. 이레 동안 당신들은 누룩을 넣지 않은 빵을 먹어야 하며, 당신들 영토 안에서 누룩을 넣은 빵이나 누룩이 보여서는 안 됩니다.
  3. 그 날에 당신들은 당신들 아들딸들에게, '이 예식은, 내가 이집트에서 나올 때에, 주님께서 나에게 해주신 일을 기억하고 지키는 것이다' 하고 설명하여 주십시오.
  4. 이 예식으로, 당신들의 손에 감은 표나 이마 위에 붙인 표와 같이, 당신들이 주님의 법을 늘 되새길 수 있게 하십시오. 주님께서 강한 손으로 당신들을 이집트에서 구하여 내셨기 때문입니다.
  5. 그러므로 당신들은 이 규례를 해마다 정해진 때에 지켜야 합니다."
  1. And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,
  2. That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD's.
  3. And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.
  4. And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:
  5. And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.
  1. "주님께서, 당신들과 당신들 조상에게 맹세하신 대로, 당신들을 가나안 사람의 땅에 이르게 하셔서 그 땅을 당신들에게 주시거든,
  2. 당신들은 태를 처음 열고 나오는 모든 것을 주님께 바치십시오. 그리고 당신들이 기르는 짐승이 처음 낳는 수컷은 다 주님의 것입니다.
  3. 그러나 나귀의 맏배는 어린 양을 대신 바쳐서 대속하도록 하십시오. 그렇게 대속하지 않으려거든, 그 목을 꺾으십시오. 당신들 자식들 가운데서 맏아들은 모두 대속하여야 합니다.
  4. 뒷날 당신들 아들딸이 당신들에게 묻기를, 무엇 때문에 이런 일을 하느냐고 하거든, 당신들은 아들딸에게 이렇게 일러주십시오. '주님께서 강한 손으로 이집트 곧 종살이하던 집에서 우리를 이끌어 내셨다.
  5. 그 때에 바로가 우리를 내보내지 않으려고 고집을 부렸으므로, 주님께서, 처음 난 것을, 사람뿐만 아니라 이집트 땅에 있는 모든 처음 난 것을 죽이셨다. 그래서 나는 처음 태를 열고 나온 모든 수컷을 주님께 제물로 바쳐서, 아들 가운데에서도 맏아들을 모두 대속하는 것이다.
  1. And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.
  2. And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
  3. But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
  4. And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
  5. And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.
  1. 이것을 각자의 손에 감은 표나 이마 위에 붙인 표처럼 여겨라. 이렇게 하는 것은, 주님께서 강한 손으로 우리를 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 내셨기 때문이다.'"
  2. 바로는 마침내 이스라엘 백성을 내보냈다. 그러나 그들이 블레셋 사람의 땅을 거쳐서 가는 것이 가장 가까운데도, 하나님은 백성을 그 길로 인도하지 않으셨다. 그것은 하나님이, 이 백성이 전쟁을 하게 되면 마음을 바꾸어서 이집트로 되돌아가지나 않을까, 하고 염려하셨기 때문이다.
  3. 그래서 하나님은 이 백성을 홍해로 가는 광야 길로 돌아가게 하셨다. 이스라엘 자손은 대열을 지어 이집트 땅에서 올라왔다.
  4. 모세는 요셉의 유골을 가지고 나왔다. 요셉이 이스라엘 자손에게 엄숙히 맹세까지 하게 하며 "하나님이 틀림없이 너희를 찾아오실 터이니, 그 때에 너희는 여기에서 나의 유골을 가지고 나가거라" 하고 말하였기 때문이다.
  5. 그들은 숙곳을 떠나 광야 끝에 있는 에담에 장막을 쳤다.
  1. And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
  2. He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
  1. 주님께서는, 그들이 밤낮으로 행군할 수 있도록, 낮에는 구름기둥으로 앞서 가시며 길을 인도하시고, 밤에는 불기둥으로 앞 길을 비추어 주셨다.
  2. 낮에는 구름기둥 밤에는 불기둥이 그 백성 앞을 떠나지 않았다.
 
  홍해 사건(14:1-14:31)    
 
  1. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
  2. Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.
  3. For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
  4. And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.
  5. And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
  1. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너는 이스라엘 자손에게 말하여, 오던 길로 되돌아가서, 믹돌과 바다 사이의 비하히롯 앞 곧 바알스본 맞은쪽 바닷가에 장막을 치라고 하여라.
  3. 그러면 바로는, 이스라엘 자손이 막막한 광야에 갇혀서 아직 이 땅을 헤매고 있을 것이라고 생각할 것이다.
  4. 내가 바로의 고집을 꺾지 않고 그대로 둘 터이니, 그가 너희를 뒤쫓아 올 것이다. 그러나 나는 바로와 그 군대를 물리침으로써 나의 영광을 드러낼 것이니, 이집트 사람들이 이것을 보고서, 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다." 이스라엘 자손은 모세가 시키는 대로 하였다.
  5. 이스라엘 백성이 도망쳤다는 소식이 이집트의 왕의 귀에 들어갔다. 그러자 바로와 그의 신하들은 이 백성에 대한 생각을 바꾸었다. "우리에게 종살이하던 이스라엘 백성을 이렇게 풀어 주어 놓아 보내다니, 어쩌자고 이렇게 하였는가?" 하고 후회하였다.
  1. And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:
  2. And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
  3. And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.
  4. But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.
  5. And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.
  1. 바로는 병거를 갖추고, 그의 군대를 이끌고 나섰다.
  2. 그는 특수병거 육백 대로 편성된 정예부대와 장교들이 지휘하는 이집트 병거부대를 모두 이끌고 나섰다.
  3. 주님께서 이집트의 왕 바로의 마음을 고집스럽게 하시니, 바로가, 주님의 보호를 받으면서 당당하게 나가고 있는 이스라엘 자손을 뒤쫓았다.
  4. 마침내 바로의 모든 병거와 기마와 그의 기병과 보병으로 구성된 이집트 군대가 이스라엘 백성을 추격하여, 그들이 진을 치고 있는 비하히롯 근처 바알스본 맞은쪽 바닷가에 이르렀다.
  5. 바로가 다가오고 있었다. 이스라엘 자손이 고개를 들고 보니, 이집트 사람들이 그들을 추격하여 오고 있었다. 이스라엘 자손은 크게 두려워하며, 주님께 부르짖었다.
  1. And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
  2. Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
  3. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
  4. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
  5. And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
  1. 그들은 모세를 원망하며 말하였다. "이집트에는 묘 자리가 없어서, 우리를 이 광야에다 끌어내어 죽이려는 것입니까? 우리를 이집트에서 끌어내어, 여기서 이런 일을 당하게 하다니, 왜 우리를 이렇게 만드십니까?
  2. 이집트에 있을 때에, 우리가 이미 당신에게 말하지 않았습니까? 광야에 나가서 죽는 것보다 이집트 사람을 섬기는 것이 더 나으니, 우리가 이집트 사람을 섬기게 그대로 내버려 두라고 하지 않았습니까?"
  3. 모세가 백성에게 대답하였다. "두려워하지 마십시오. 당신들은 가만히 서서, 주님께서 오늘 당신들을 어떻게 구원하시는지 지켜 보기만 하십시오. 당신들이 오늘 보는 이 이집트 사람을 다시는 볼 수 없을 것입니다.
  4. 주님께서 당신들을 구하여 주시려고 싸우실 것이니, 당신들은 진정하십시오."
  5. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 왜 부르짖느냐? 너는 이스라엘 자손에게 명하여, 앞으로 나아가게 하여라.
  1. But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
  2. And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
  3. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
  4. And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
  5. And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
  1. 너는 지팡이를 들고 바다 위로 너의 팔을 내밀어, 바다가 갈라지게 하여라. 그러면 이스라엘 자손이 바다 한가운데로 마른 땅을 밟으며 지나갈 수 있을 것이다.
  2. 내가 이집트 사람의 마음을 고집스럽게 하겠다. 그들이 너희를 뒤쫓을 것이다. 그러나 나는 바로와 그의 모든 군대와 병거와 기병들을 전멸시켜서, 나의 영광을 드러내겠다.
  3. 내가 바로와 그의 병거와 기병들을 물리치고서 나의 영광을 드러낼 때에, 이집트 사람은 비로소 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다."
  4. 이스라엘 진 앞을 인도하는 하나님의 천사가 진 뒤로 옮겨가자, 진 앞에 있던 구름기둥도 진 뒤로 옮겨가서,
  5. 이집트 진과 이스라엘 진 사이를 가로막고 섰다. 그 구름이 이집트 사람들이 있는 쪽은 어둡게 하고, 이스라엘 사람들이 있는 쪽은 환하게 밝혀 주었으므로, 밤새도록 양 쪽이 서로 가까이 갈 수 없었다.
  1. And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
  2. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
  3. And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
  4. And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,
  5. And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
  1. 모세가 바다 위로 팔을 내밀었다. 주님께서 밤새도록 강한 동풍으로 바닷물을 뒤로 밀어 내시니, 바다가 말라서 바닥이 드러났다. 바닷물이 갈라지고,
  2. 이스라엘 자손은 바다 한가운데로 마른 땅을 밟으며 지나갔다. 물이 좌우에서 그들을 가리는 벽이 되었다.
  3. 뒤이어 이집트 사람들이 쫓아왔다. 바로의 말과 병거와 기병이 모두 이스라엘 백성의 뒤를 쫓아 바다 한가운데로 들어왔다.
  4. 새벽녘이 되어, 주님께서 불기둥과 구름기둥에서 이집트 진을 내려다 보시고, 이집트 진을 혼란 속에 빠뜨리셨다.
  5. 주님께서 병거의 바퀴를 벗기셔서 전진하기 어렵게 만드시니, 이집트 사람들은 '이스라엘 사람들을 쫓지 말고 되돌아가자. 그들의 주가 그들 편이 되어 우리 이집트 사람과 싸운다!' 하고 외쳤다.
  1. And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
  2. And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
  3. And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
  4. But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
  5. Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.
  1. 주님께서 모세에게 이르셨다. "너는 바다 위로 너의 팔을 내밀어라. 그러면 바닷물이 이집트 사람과 그 병거와 기병 쪽으로 다시 흐를 것이다."
  2. 모세가 바다 위로 팔을 내미니, 새벽녘에 바닷물이 본래의 상태로 되돌아왔다. 이집트 사람들이 되돌아오는 물결에서 벗어나려고 하였으나, 주님께서 이집트 사람들을 바다 한가운데 빠뜨리셨다.
  3. 이렇게 물이 다시 돌아와서 병거와 기병을 뒤덮어 버렸다. 그래서 이스라엘 백성의 뒤를 따라 바다로 들어간 바로의 모든 군대는 하나도 살아 남지 못하였다.
  4. 이스라엘 자손은 바다 한가운데로 마른 땅을 밟으며 지나갔는데, 바닷물이 좌우에서 그들을 가리는 벽이 되어 주었던 것이다.
  5. 바로 그 날, 주님께서 이스라엘을 이집트 사람들의 손아귀에서 구원하셨고, 이스라엘은 바닷가에 널려 있는 이집트 사람들의 주검을 보게 되었다.
  1. And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.
  1. 이스라엘은 이집트를 치신 주님의 크신 권능을 보고 주님을 두려워하고, 주님과 주님의 종 모세를 믿었다.
