- And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.
- For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
- But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
- And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
- But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.

- 그들은 거기에서 나와서, 갈릴리를 가로질러 가고 있었다. 예수께서는 이것을 남들이 알기를 바라지 않으셨다.
- 그것은 예수께서 제자들을 가르치시며, 인자가 사람들의 손에 넘어가고, 사람들이 그를 죽이고, 그가 죽임을 당하고 나서, 사흘 후에 살아날 것이라고 그들에게 말씀하고 계셨기 때문이다.
- 그러나 제자들은 그 말씀을 깨닫지 못하였고, 예수께 묻기조차 두려워하였다.
- 그들은 가버나움으로 갔다. 예수께서 집 안에 계실 때에, 제자들에게 물으셨다. "너희가 길에서 무슨 일로 다투었느냐?"
- 제자들은 잠잠하였다. 그들은 길에서, 누가 가장 큰 사람이냐 하는 것으로 서로 다투었던 것이다.

- And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
- And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
- Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
- And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
- But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

- 예수께서 앉으신 다음에, 열두 제자를 불러 놓고, 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "누구든지 첫째가 되고자 하면, 그는 모든 사람의 꼴찌가 되어서 모든 사람을 섬겨야 한다."
- 그리고 어린이 하나를 데려다가 그들 가운데 세우신 다음에, 그를 껴안아 주시고 그들에게 말씀하셨다.
- "누구든지 내 이름으로 이런 어린이들 가운데 하나를 영접하면, 그는 나를 영접하는 것이요, 누구든지 나를 영접하는 사람은, 나를 영접하는 것보다, 나를 보내신 분을 영접하는 것이다."
- 요한이 예수께 말하였다. "선생님, 어떤 사람이 선생님의 이름으로 귀신들을 쫓아내는 것을 우리가 보았습니다. 그런데 그 사람은 우리를 따르는 사람이 아니므로, 우리는 그가 그런 일을 하지 못하게 막았습니다."
- 그러나 예수께서는 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "막지 말아라. 내 이름으로 기적을 행하고 나서 쉬이 나를 욕할 사람은 아무도 없기 때문이다.

- For he that is not against us is on our part.
- For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
- And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
- And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
- Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

- 우리를 반대하지 않는 사람은 우리를 지지하는 사람이다.
- 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 너희가 그리스도의 사람이라고 해서 너희에게 물 한 잔이라도 주는 사람은, 절대로 자기가 받을 상을 잃지 않을 것이다."
- "또 나를 믿는 이 작은 사람들 가운데서 하나라도 죄짓게 하는 사람은, 차라리 그 목에 큰 맷돌을 달고 바다에 빠지는 편이 낫다.
- 네 손이 너를 죄짓게 하거든, 그것을 찍어 버려라. 네가 두 손을 가지고 지옥에, 곧 그 꺼지지 않는 불 속에 들어가는 것보다, 차라리 한 손을 잃은 채로 생명에 들어가는 것이 낫다.

- And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
- Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
- And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
- Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
- For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

- 네 발이 너를 죄짓게 하거든, 그것을 찍어 버려라. 네가 두 발을 가지고 지옥에 들어가는 것보다, 차라리 한 발은 잃었으나 생명에 들어가는 것이 낫다.

- 또 네 눈이 너를 죄짓게 하거든, 그것을 빼어 버려라. 네가 두 눈을 가지고 지옥에 들어가는 것보다, 차라리 한 눈으로 하나님의 나라에 들어가는 것이 낫다.
- 지옥에서는 '그들을 파먹는 구더기들도 죽지 않고, 불도 꺼지지 않는다.'
- 모든 사람이 다 소금에 절이듯 불에 절여질 것이다.

- Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

- 소금은 좋은 것이다. 그러나 소금이 짠 맛을 잃으면, 너희는 무엇으로 그것을 짜게 하겠느냐? 너희는 너희 가운데 소금을 쳐 두어서, 서로 화목하게 지내어라."
