- After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.
- But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
- And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
- And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?
- For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

- 유월절과 무교절 이틀 전이었다. 그런데 대제사장들과 율법학자들은 '어떻게 속임수를 써서 예수를 붙잡아 죽일까' 하고 궁리하고 있었다.
- 그런데 그들은 "백성이 소동을 일으키면 안 되니, 명절에는 하지 말자" 하고 말하였다.
- 예수께서 베다니에서 나병 환자였던 시몬의 집에 머무실 때에, 음식을 잡수시고 계시는데, 한 여자가 매우 값진 순수한 나드 향유 한 옥합을 가지고 와서, 그 옥합을 깨뜨리고, 향유를 예수의 머리에 부었다.
- 그런데 몇몇 사람이 화를 내면서 자기들끼리 말하였다. "어찌하여 향유를 이렇게 허비하는가?
- 이 향유는 삼백 데나리온 이상에 팔아서, 그 돈을 가난한 사람들에게 줄 수 있었겠다!" 그리고는 그 여자를 나무랐다.

- And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.
- For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
- She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.
- Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
- And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

- 그러나 예수께서 말씀하셨다. "가만두어라. 왜 그를 괴롭히느냐? 그는 내게 아름다운 일을 했다.
- 가난한 사람들은 늘 너희와 함께 있으니, 언제든지 너희가 하려고만 하면, 그들을 도울 수 있다. 그러나 나는 언제나 너희와 함께 있는 것이 아니다.
- 이 여자는, 자기가 할 수 있는 일을 하였다. 곧 내 몸에 향유를 부어서, 내 장례를 위하여 할 일을 미리 한 셈이다.
- 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 온 세상 어디든지, 복음이 전파되는 곳마다, 이 여자가 한 일도 전해져서, 사람들이 이 여자를 기억하게 될 것이다."
- 열두 제자 가운데 하나인 가룟 유다가, 대제사장들에게 예수를 넘겨줄 마음을 품고, 그들을 찾아갔다.

- And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.
- And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?
- And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.
- And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
- And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.

- 그들은 유다의 말을 듣고서 기뻐하여, 그에게 은돈을 주기로 약속하였다. 그래서 유다는 예수를 넘겨줄 적당한 기회를 노리고 있었다.
- 무교절 첫째 날에, 곧 유월절 양을 잡는 날에, 제자들이 예수께 말하였다. "우리가 가서, 선생님께서 유월절 음식을 드시게 준비하려 하는데, 어디에다 하기를 바라십니까?"
- 예수께서 제자 두 사람을 보내시며 말씀하셨다. "성 안으로 들어가거라. 그러면 물동이를 메고 오는 사람을 만날 것이니, 그를 따라 가거라.
- 그리고 그가 들어가는 집으로 가서, 그 집 주인에게 말하기를 '선생님께서 하시는 말씀이, 내가 내 제자들과 함께 유월절 음식을 먹을 내 사랑방이 어디에 있느냐고 하십니다' 하여라.
- 그러면 그는 자리를 깔아서 준비한 큰 다락방을 너희에게 보여 줄 것이니, 거기에 우리를 위하여 준비를 하여라."

- And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
- And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.
- And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.
- And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?
- And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.

- 제자들이 떠나서, 성 안으로 들어가서 보니, 예수께서 말씀하신 그대로였다. 그리하여, 그들은 유월절을 준비하였다.
- 저녁때가 되어서, 예수께서는 열두 제자와 함께 가셨다.
- 그들이 자리를 잡고 앉아서 먹고 있을 때에, 예수께서 말씀하셨다. "내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 너희 가운데 한 사람, 곧 나와 함께 먹고 있는 사람이 나를 넘겨줄 것이다."
- 그들은 근심에 싸여 "나는 아니지요?" 하고 예수께 말하기 시작하였다.
- 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "그는 열둘 가운데 하나로서, 나와 함께 같은 대접에 빵을 적시고 있는 사람이다.

- The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

- 인자는 자기에 관하여 성경에 기록되어 있는 대로 떠나가지만, 인자를 넘겨주는 그 사람에게는 화가 있다. 그 사람은 차라리 태어나지 않았더라면 자기에게 좋았을 것이다."
