- And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
- And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased.
- He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
- Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:
- But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.

- 그들을 안전하게 이끄시니, 그들은 두려워하지 않았고, 그들의 원수들은 바다가 덮어 버렸다.
- 그들을 거룩한 산으로 이끌어 들이시고, 그 오른손으로 취하신 이 산으로 이끄셨다.
- 여러 민족을 그들 앞에서 몰아내시고, 줄로 재어서 땅을 나누어 주시고, 이스라엘 지파들을 자기들의 천막에서 살게 하셨다.
- 그럼에도 그들은 가장 높으신 하나님을 시험하고 거역하면서, 그의 법도를 지키지 않고,
- 그들은 그들의 조상들처럼 빗나가고 배신하여, 느슨한 활처럼 엇나갔다.

- For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
- When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:
- So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men;
- And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand.
- He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance.

- 그들은 산당에 모여 그의 노를 격동하며, 조각한 우상을 섬기다가 그를 진노하게 하였다.
- 하나님께서 듣고 노하셔서, 이스라엘을 아주 내버리셨다.
- 사람과 함께 지내시던 그 천막, 실로의 성막을 내버리셨다.
- 주님의 능력을 나타내는 궤를 포로와 함께 내주시고, 주님의 영광을 나타내는 궤를 원수의 손에 내주셨다.
- 주님의 백성을 칼에 내주시고, 주님의 소유에 분노를 쏟으셨다.

- The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage.
- Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.

- 불로 젊은 총각들을 삼켜 버리시니, 처녀들은 혼인 노래를 들을 수 없었다.
- 제사장들은 칼에 맞아 넘어지고, 과부가 된 그들의 아내들은 마음 놓고 곡 한 번 못 하였다.
