- If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
- If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
- Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
- Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
- My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

- 그러나 그의 자손이 내 법을 내버리고 내 규례를 따라서 살지 않고,
- 내 율례를 깨뜨리고 내 계명을 지키지 않으면,
- 나는 그 죄를 물어 채찍으로 치고 그 죄악을 물어 매질할 것이다.
- 그러나 그에게 약속한 나의 진실함은 변하지 않을 것이며
- 나는 내 언약을 깨뜨리지 않으며, 내 입으로 말한 것은 결코 번복하지 않는다.

- Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
- His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
- It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

- 내가 나의 거룩함을 두고 한 번 맹세하였는데, 어찌 다윗을 속이겠느냐?
- 그 자손이 영원토록 이어지고, 그 왕위는 내 앞에서 태양처럼 있을 것이니,
- 저 달처럼, 구름 속에 있는 진실한 증인처럼, 영원토록 견고하게 서 있을 것이다." （셀라）
