열왕기상 22:1-22:53

 극악한 왕 아합은 미가야의 패전과 죽음에 대한 예언에도 불구하고 400여 명의 거짓 선지자들의 말에 따라 여호사밧 왕과 동맹하여 길르앗 라못 탈환에 나섰다. 결국 예언대로 아합은 전쟁에 패했고 하나님의 심판으로 비참한 최후를 맞았다.
  
  아합의 마지막 전투(22:1-22:40)    
 
  1. And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
  2. And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
  3. And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?
  4. And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.
  5. And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.
  1. 시리아와 이스라엘 사이에는 세 해 동안이나 전쟁이 없었다.
  2. 그런데 삼 년째 되는 해에, 유다의 여호사밧 왕이 이스라엘 왕을 찾아갔다.
  3. 이스라엘 왕은 자기의 신하들에게 말하였다. "길르앗에 있는 라못은 우리 땅인데도, 우리가 그 땅을 시리아 왕의 손에서 다시 찾아올 생각조차 하지 않고 있소. 경들은 이것을 알고 있었소?"
  4. 그리고 그는 또 여호사밧에게도 말하였다. "길르앗의 라못을 치러 나와 함께 올라가시겠습니까?" 그러자 여호사밧이 이스라엘 왕에게 대답하였다. "나의 생각이 바로 임금님의 생각이며, 내가 통솔하는 군대가 곧 임금님의 군대이고, 내가 부리는 말이 곧 임금님의 말입니다."
  5. 그러면서도 여호사밧은 이스라엘 왕에게 말하였다. "그러나 먼저 주님의 뜻을 알아 봄이 좋을 것 같습니다."
  1. Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
  2. And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?
  3. And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
  4. Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten hither Micaiah the son of Imlah.
  5. And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
  1. 그러자 이스라엘 왕은 예언자 사백 명 가량을 모아 놓고서, 그들에게 물었다. "내가 길르앗의 라못을 치러 올라가는 것이 좋겠소, 아니면 그만두는 것이 좋겠소?" 그러자 예언자들은 대답하였다. "올라가십시오. 주님께서 그 성을 임금님의 손에 넘겨 주실 것입니다."
  2. 여호사밧이 물었다. "이 밖에 우리가 물어 볼 만한 주님의 예언자가 또 없습니까?"
  3. 이스라엘 왕은 여호사밧에게 대답하였다. "주님의 뜻을 물어 볼 사람으로서, 이믈라의 아들 미가야라고 하는 예언자가 있기는 합니다만, 나는 그를 싫어합니다. 그는 한 번도 나에게 무엇인가 길한 것을 예언한 적이 없고, 언제나 흉한 것만 예언하곤 합니다." 여호사밧이 다시 제안하였다. "임금님께서 예언자를 두고 그렇게 말씀하시면 안 됩니다."
  4. 그러자 이스라엘 왕은 신하를 불러서 명령하였다. "이믈라의 아들 미가야를 빨리 데려 오너라."
  5. 그 때에 이스라엘 왕과 유다의 여호사밧 왕은 왕복을 입고, 사마리아 성문 어귀에 있는 타작 마당에 마련된 보좌에 앉아 있고, 예언자들은 모두 그 두 왕 앞에서 예언을 하고 있었다.
  1. And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.
  2. And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king's hand.
  3. And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good.
  4. And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.
  5. So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
  1. 그 예언자들 가운데서, 그나아나의 아들 시드기야는 자기가 만든 철뿔들을 가지고 나와서 말하였다. "주님께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. '철로 만든 이 뿔을 가지고, 너 아합은 사람들을 찌르되, 그들이 모두 파멸될 때까지 그렇게 할 것이다' 하십니다."
  2. 다른 예언자들도 모두 그와 같은 예언을 하면서 말하였다. "길르앗의 라못으로 진군하십시오. 승리는 임금님의 것입니다. 주님께서 이미 그 성을 임금님의 손에 넘기셨습니다."
  3. 미가야를 데리러 간 신하가 미가야에게 말하였다. "이것 보시오. 다른 예언자들이 모두 한결같이 왕의 승리를 예언하였으니, 예언자께서도 그들이 한 것 같이, 왕의 승리를 예언하시는 것이 좋을 것이오."
  4. 미가야가 대답하였다. "주님께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하지만, 나는 다만 주님께서 말씀하신 것만을 말하겠습니다."
  5. 그가 왕 앞에 나아가니, 왕이 그에게 물었다. "미가야는 대답하시오. 우리가 길르앗의 라못을 치러 올라가는 것이 좋겠소, 아니면 그만 두는 것이 좋겠소?" 미가야가 대답하였다. "올라가십시오. 승리는 임금님의 것입니다. 주님께서 그 곳을 왕의 손에 넘겨 주실 것입니다."
  1. And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?
  2. And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.
  3. And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?
  4. And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
  5. And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.
  1. 그러자 왕은 그에게 다시 말하였다. "그대가 주님의 이름으로 나에게 말을 할 때에는, 진실을 말해야 한다고 누차 일렀거늘, 내가 얼마나 더 똑같은 말을 되풀이해야 하겠소?"
  2. 미가야가 대답하였다. "내가 보니, 온 이스라엘이 이산 저산에 흩어져 있습니다. 마치 목자 없는 양 떼와 같습니다. '나 주가 말한다. 이들에게는 인도자가 없다. 제각기 집으로 평안히 돌아가게 하여라' 하십니다."
  3. 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 말하였다. "보십시오, 그는 나에게, 길한 것은 예언하지 않고, 흉한 것만을 예언한다고 말씀드리지 않았습니까?"
  4. 미가야가 말을 계속하였다. "그러므로 이제는 주님의 말씀을 들으십시오. 내가 보니, 주님께서 보좌에 앉으시고, 그 좌우 옆에는, 하늘의 모든 군대가 둘러 서 있는데,
  5. 주님께서 물으십니다. '누가 아합을 꾀어 내어서, 그로 길르앗의 라못으로 올라가서 죽게 하겠느냐?' 그러자 그들은 '이렇게 하자' 또는 '저렇게 하자' 하며, 저마다 자기의 의견을 말하는데,
  1. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.
  2. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persude him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
  3. Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.
  4. But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?
  5. And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
  1. 한 영이 주님 앞에 나서서 말합니다. '제가 가서, 그를 꾀어 내겠습니다.' 그러자 주님께서는 그에게 물으십니다. '그를 어떻게 꾀어 내겠느냐?'
  2. 그러자 그는 대답합니다. '제가 거짓말하는 영이 되어, 아합의 모든 예언자들의 입에 들어가서, 그들이 모두 거짓말을 하도록 시키겠습니다.' 그러자 주님께서 말씀하십니다. '네가 그를 꾀어라. 틀림없이 성공할 것이다. 가서, 곧 그렇게 하여라.'
  3. 그러므로 이제 보십시오. 주님께서 거짓말하는 영을 여기에 있는 임금님의 예언자들의 입에 들어가게 하셨으니, 주님께서는 임금님께 이미 재앙을 선언하신 것입니다."
  4. 그러자 그나아나의 아들 시드기야가 다가와서, 미가야의 뺨을 치면서 말하였다. "주님의 영이 어떻게 나를 떠나 네게로 건너가서 말씀하시더냐?"
  5. 미가야가 대답하였다. "네가 골방으로 들어가서 숨는 바로 그 날에, 너는 모든 것을 알게 될 것이다."
  1. And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
  2. And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.
  3. And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.
  4. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.
  5. And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
  1. 이스라엘 왕은 명령하였다. "미가야를 잡아다가, 아몬 성주와 요아스 왕자에게로 끌고 가거라.
  2. 그리고 내가 명하는 것이니, 이 자를 감옥에 가두고, 내가 평안히 돌아올 때까지, 빵과 물을 죽지 않을 만큼만 먹이라고 하여라."
  3. 미가야가 말하였다. "임금님께서 정말로 평안히 돌아오실 수 있으면, 주님께서 나를 시켜서 이런 말씀을 하시지도 않으셨을 것입니다." 미가야는 한 마디 더 붙였다. "여기에 있는 모든 백성은 나의 말을 잘 기억하여 두시오!"
  4. 이스라엘 왕 아합과 유다의 여호사밧 왕은 시리아와 싸우려고 길르앗의 라못으로 올라갔다.
  5. 이스라엘의 아합 왕은 여호사밧에게 말하였다. "나는 변장을 하고 싸움터로 들어갈 터이니, 임금께서는 왕복을 그대로 입고 나가십시오." 이스라엘 왕은 변장을 하고, 싸움터로 들어갔다.
  1. But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.
  2. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.
  3. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
  4. And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
  5. And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.
  1. 시리아 왕은 그와 함께 있는 서른두 사람의 병거대 지휘관들에게 말하였다. "너희는 작은 자나 큰 자를 상대하여 싸우지 말고, 오직 이스라엘 왕만 공격하여라."
  2. 병거대 지휘관들이 여호사밧을 보더니 "저 자가 이스라엘의 왕이다." 하며, 그와 싸우려고 달려들었다. 여호사밧이 기겁을 하여서 소리치니,
  3. 병거대 지휘관들은, 그가 이스라엘의 왕이 아님을 알고서, 그를 추적하기를 그만두고 돌아섰다.
  4. 그런데 군인 한 사람이 무심코 활을 당긴 것이 이스라엘 왕에게 명중하였다. 화살이 갑옷 가슴막이 이음새 사이를 뚫고 들어간 것이다. 왕은 자기의 병거를 모는 부하에게 말하였다. "병거를 돌려서, 이 싸움터에서 빠져 나가자. 내가 부상을 입었다."
  5. 그러나 특히 그 날은 싸움이 격렬하였으므로, 왕은 병거 가운데 붙들려 서서, 시리아 군대를 막다가 저녁 때가 되어 죽었는데, 그의 병거 안에는 왕의 상처에서 흘러나온 피가 바닥에 흥건히 고여 있었다.
  1. And there went a proclamation throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.
  2. So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
  3. And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the LORD which he spake.
  4. Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
  5. So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
  1. 해가 질 즈음에 "각각 자기의 성읍으로, 각각 자기의 고향으로!" 하고 외치는 명령이 진영에 전달되었다.
  2. 왕은 죽고, 사람들은 그 주검을 사마리아로 가지고 가서, 그 곳에 묻었다.
  3. 그리고 사마리아의 연못에서 왕의 병거와 갑옷을 씻을 때에 개들이 그 피를 핥았고, 창녀들이 그 곳에서 목욕을 하였다. 이렇게 해서 모든 것은 주님께서 말씀하신 대로 되었다.
  4. 아합의 나머지 행적과 그가 한 모든 일과, 그가 건축한 상아 궁과, 그가 세운 성읍들에 관한 모든 사실이, '이스라엘 왕 역대지략'에 다 기록되어 있다.
  5. 아합이 조상들과 함께 묻히니, 그의 뒤를 이어서 그의 아들 아하시야가 왕이 되었다.
 
  여호사밧과 아하시야의 통치(22:41-22:53)    
 
  1. And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
  2. Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
  3. And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.
  4. And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
  5. Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he shewed, and how he warred, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
  1. 이스라엘의 아합 왕 제 사년에 아사의 아들 여호사밧이 유다의 왕이 되었다.
  2. 여호사밧은 왕이 될 때에 서른다섯 살이었고, 예루살렘에서 스물다섯 해 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니 아수바는 실히의 딸이다.
  3. 여호사밧은 자기의 아버지 아사가 걸어간 길에서 벗어나지 아니하고, 그 길을 그대로 걸어서, 주님께서 보시기에 정직하게 행하였으나, 그가 산당만은 헐어 버리지 않아서, 백성은 여전히 산당에서 제사를 드리며 분향하였다.
  4. 여호사밧은 이스라엘 왕과 평화롭게 지냈다.
  5. 여호사밧의 나머지 행적과, 그가 보여 준 권세와, 그가 치른 전쟁에 관한 것들이, 모두 '유다 왕 역대지략'에 기록되어 있다.
  1. And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.
  2. There was then no king in Edom: a deputy was king.
  3. Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Eziongeber.
  4. Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.
  5. And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
  1. 그는 그의 아버지 아사 시대까지 남아 있던 성전 남창들을 그 땅에서 내쫓았다.
  2. 그 때에 에돔에는 왕이 없었고, 유다의 왕이 임명한 대리자가 다스리고 있었다.

  4. 그러자 아합의 아들 아하시야가 여호사밧에게 "나의 신하들이 임금님의 신하들과 같은 배를 타고 가게 하겠습니다" 하고 제의하였으나, 여호사밧은 이 제의를 받아들이지 않았다.
  5. 여호사밧이 숨을 거두니, '다윗 성'에다가 조상들과 함께 그를 장사하였다. 그의 뒤를 이어서, 그의 아들 여호람이 왕이 되었다.
  1. Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.
  2. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin:
  3. For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the LORD God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
  1. 유다의 여호사밧 왕 제 십칠년에, 아합의 아들 아하시야가 사마리아에서 이스라엘의 왕이 되었다. 그는 두 해 동안 이스라엘을 다스렸다.
  2. 그는 주님께서 보시기에 이스라엘을 죄에 빠뜨리게 한 그의 아버지와 어머니가 걸은 길과 느밧의 아들 여로보암이 걸은 길을 그대로 따라갔다.
  3. 그는 바알을 섬기고, 그것에 절을 하여서, 그의 아버지가 한 것과 마찬가지로, 주 이스라엘의 하나님께서 진노하시게 하였다.
