	역대상 9:1-10:14 포로 귀환 후 예루살렘에 거주하게 된 지파들과 귀환한 제사장, 레위인들, 그리고 사울의 족보가 기록되어 있다. 하나님 앞에 범죄한 사울은 블레셋과의 전투에서 패배함으로써 스스로 자살하는 비극적인 최후를 맞았다.

	포로 귀환자들(9:1-9:34)

So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, who were carried away to Babylon for their transgression.

Now the first inhabitants that dwelt in their possessions in their cities were, the Israelites, the priests, Levites, and the Nethinims.

And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim, and Manasseh;

Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Pharez the son of Judah.

And of the Shilonites; Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.

이와 같이 온 이스라엘이 족보에 오르고, '이스라엘 열왕기'에 기록되었다. 유다는 배신하였으므로 바빌론으로 사로잡혀 갔는데,

맨 처음으로 자기들의 성읍 소유지에 돌아와서 살림을 시작한 사람들은 이스라엘 사람과 제사장과 레위 사람과 성전 막일꾼들이다.

유다 자손, 베냐민 자손, 그리고 에브라임과 므낫세 자손 가운데서 예루살렘에 자리 잡은 사람은 다음과 같다.

유다의 아들 베레스 자손 가운데서는 우대가 살았는데, 그는 암미훗의 아들이요, 오므리의 손자요, 이므리의 증손이요, 바니의 현손이다.

실로 사람 가운데서는 맏아들 아사야와 그 아들들이 살았다.

And of the sons of Zerah; Jeuel, and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.

And of the sons of Benjamin; Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hasenuah,

And Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephathiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;

And their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men were chief of the fathers in the house of their fathers.

And of the priests; Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin,

세라의 자손 가운데서는 여우엘과 그의 친족 육백구십 명이 살았다.

베냐민 자손 가운데서는 살루가 살았는데, 그는 므술람의 아들이요, 호다위아의 손자요, 핫스누아의 증손이다.

그리고 여로함의 아들인 이브느야와, 미그리의 손자요 웃시의 아들인 엘라와, 이브니야의 증손이요 르우엘의 손자요 스바댜의 아들인 므술람이 살았다.

이와 같이 족보에 오른 그들의 친족은 모두 구백오십육 명이며, 이들은 모두 각 가문의 족장이다.

제사장 가운데서는 여다야와 여호야립과 야긴과

And Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;

And Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasiai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;

And their brethren, heads of the house of their fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.

And of the Levites; Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;

And Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;

아사랴가 살았는데, 아사랴는 힐기야의 아들이요, 므술람의 손자요, 사독의 증손이요, 므라욧의 현손이요, 하나님의 성전 관리를 책임 진 아히둡의 오대 손이다.

또 아다야도 살았는데, 그는 여로함의 아들이요, 바스훌의 손자요, 말기야의 증손이다. 그리고 마아새도 살았는데, 그는 아디엘의 아들이요, 야세라의 손자요, 므술람의 증손이요, 므실레밋의 현손이요, 임멜의 오대 손이다.

또 그들의 친족이 있는데, 이들은 각 가문의 족장들이며, 하나님의 성전을 돌보는 일에 유능한 사람들로서, 그 수는 천칠백육십 명이다.

레위 사람들 가운데서는 므라리 자손인 스마야가 살았는데, 그는 핫숩의 아들이요, 아스리감의 손자요, 하사뱌의 증손이다.

또 박박갈과 헤레스와 갈랄과 맛다니야가 살았는데, 맛다니야는 미가의 아들이요, 시그리의 손자요, 아삽의 증손이다.

And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.

And the porters were, Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum was the chief;

Who hitherto waited in the king's gate eastward: they were porters in the companies of the children of Levi.

And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the LORD, were keepers of the entry.

And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was the ruler over them in time past, and the LORD was with him.

또 오바댜가 살았는데, 그는 스마야의 아들이요, 갈랄의 손자요, 여두둔의 증손이다. 그리고 베레갸도 살았는데, 그는 아사의 아들이요, 느도바 사람들의 마을에 살던 엘가나의 손자이다.

문지기는 살룸과 악굽과 달몬과 아히만과 그들의 친족들인데, 살룸이 그 우두머리이다.

살룸은 이 때까지, 동쪽에 있는 '왕의 문'의 문지기로 있다. 이들이 레위 자손의 진영에 속한 문지기이다.

고라의 증손이요 에비아삽의 손자요 고레의 아들인 살룸과, 그의 가문에 속한 그의 친족들, 즉 고라 족속은, 성막 문을 지키는 임무를 맡았다. 그들의 조상도 주님의 성막 문을 지키는 사람이었다.

예전에는 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스가 그들의 책임자였는데, 주님께서 그와 함께 하셨다.

And Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

All these which were chosen to be porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office.

So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the LORD, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.

In four quarters were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.

And their brethren, which were in their villages, were to come after seven days from time to time with them.

므셀레먀의 아들 스가랴는 회막 문의 문지기이다.

문지기로 뽑힌 사람은 모두 이백십이 명이며, 마을별로 족보에 기록되었다. 다윗과 사무엘 선견자가 그들을 신실히 여겨 이 모든 일을 맡겼다.

그들과 그 자손이 주님의 성전 문 곧 성막 문을 지키는 일을 맡았는데,

이 문지기들은 동서 남북 사방에 배치되었다.

마을에 사는 그들의 친족들은, 번갈아 와서, 이레씩 그들을 도왔다.

For these Levites, the four chief porters, were in their set office, and were over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.

And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them.

And certain of them had the charge of the ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by tale.

Some of them also were appointed to oversee the vessels, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, and the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.

And some of the sons of the priests made the ointment of the spices.

레위 사람인 네 명의 책임자들은 신실하여서, 하나님 성전의 방과 창고들을 맡았다.

그들은 성전을 지키며 아침마다 문을 여는 일을 맡았으므로, 하나님의 성전 주위에 머무르면서 밤을 지냈다.

그들 가운데 몇 사람은 성전에서 사용하는 기구를 맡았으므로, 그것들을 세어서 들여오고, 세어서 내주었다.

또 그들 가운데 몇 사람은 성전의 모든 기구와 그 밖의 기구들, 그리고 고운 밀가루와, 포도주와 기름과 유향과 향품을 맡았다.

제사장 자손 가운데서 몇 사람은 향료를 배합하여 향수를 만들었다.

And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the set office over the things that were made in the pans.

And other of their brethren, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the shewbread, to prepare it every sabbath.

And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night.

These chief fathers of the Levites were chief throughout their generations; these dwelt at Jerusalem.

레위 사람 맛디댜는 고라 자손 살룸의 맏아들로서, 구워서 바치는 제물을 준비하는 일을 맡았다.

고핫 자손 가운데서 그들의 친족 몇 사람은 안식일마다 차리는 빵을 준비하는 일을 맡았다.

또 찬양을 맡은 사람도 있었다. 이들은 레위 지파의 족장들로서, 성전의 부속건물에 살면서, 밤낮으로 자기들의 일만 해야 하였으므로, 다른 일은 하지 않았다.

이들이 족보에 오른 레위 사람 족장들이다. 이 족장들은 예루살렘에서 살았다.

	사울의 족보와 죽음(9:35-10:14)

And in Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jehiel, whose wife's name was Maachah:

And his firstborn son Abdon, then Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab.

And Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth.

And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brethren at Jerusalem, over against their brethren.

And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.

기브온의 조상 여이엘은 기브온에 살았으며, 그 아내의 이름은 마아가이다.

그 맏아들은 압돈이고, 그 아래로 수르와 기스와 바알과 넬과 나답과

그돌과 아히요와 스가랴와 미글롯이 있다.

미글롯은 시므암을 낳았다. 이들은 다른 친족들을 마주 보며 자기들의 친족들과 함께 예루살렘에서 살았다.

넬은 기스를 낳고, 기스는 사울을 낳고, 사울은 요나단과 말기수아와 아비나답과 에스바알을 낳았다.

And the son of Jonathan was Meribbaal: and Meribbaal begat Micah.

And the sons of Micah were, Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, and Ahaz.

And Ahaz begat Jarah; and Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza;

And Moza begat Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.

And Azel had six sons, whose names are these, Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel.

요나단의 아들은 므립바알이며, 므립바알은 미가를 낳았다.

미가의 아들은 비돈과 멜렉과 다레아와 아하스이다.

아하스는 야라를 낳고, 야라는 알레멧과 아스마웻과 시므리를 낳고, 시므리는 모사를 낳고,

모사는 비느아를 낳았다. 비느아의 아들은 르바야이고, 그 아들은 엘르아사이고, 그 아들은 아셀이다.

아셀에게는 여섯 아들이 있는데, 그들의 이름은 아스리감과 보그루와 이스마엘과 스아랴와 오바댜와 하난이다. 이들이 아셀의 아들이다.

Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.

And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.

And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers.

Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.

And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.

블레셋 사람이 이스라엘에 싸움을 걸어왔다. 이스라엘 사람들은 블레셋 사람 앞에서 도망하다가, 길보아 산에서 죽임을 당하여 쓰러졌다.

블레셋 사람들이 사울과 그의 아들들을 바싹 추격하여, 사울의 아들 요나단과 아비나답과 말기수아를 죽였다.

싸움이 치열해지면서, 전세가 사울에게 불리해졌다. 활을 쏘는 군인들이 사울을 알아보고 활을 쏘자, 그가 화살을 맞고 중상을 입었다.

사울이 자기의 무기당번 병사에게 명령하였다. "네 칼을 뽑아서 나를 찔러라. 저 할례받지 못한 이교도들이 나를 조롱하지 못하게 하여라." 그러나 그의 무기당번 병사는 너무 겁이 나서, 찌르려고 하지 않았다. 그러자 사울은 자기의 칼을 뽑아서, 그 위에 엎어졌다.

그의 무기당번 병사는 사울이 죽는 것을 보고, 자기도 자기의 칼을 뽑아 그 위에 엎어져서, 사울과 함께 죽었다.

So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house died together.

And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.

And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa.

And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings unto their idols, and to the people.

And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.

사울과 그의 세 아들과 그의 온 가문이 함께 죽었다.

그 골짜기에 살던 모든 이스라엘 사람은, 이스라엘 군인들이 도망 친 것과 사울과 그의 아들들이 죽은 것을 보고, 살던 성읍들을 버리고 도망 쳤다. 그래서 블레셋 사람이 여러 성읍으로 들어와서 거기에서 살았다.

그 이튿날, 블레셋 사람들이, 죽은 사람들의 옷을 벗기러 왔다가, 사울과 그의 아들들이 길보아 산에 쓰러져 있는 것을 발견하였다.

그들은 사울의 옷을 벗기고, 그의 머리와 갑옷을 취한 다음에, 블레셋 땅 사방으로 전령들을 보내서, 자기들의 우상과 백성에게 승리의 소식을 전하였다.

그런 다음에 그들은 사울의 갑옷을 그들의 신전에 보관하고, 머리는 다곤 신전에 매달아 두었다.

And when all Jabeshgilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,

They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.

So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;

And enquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.

길르앗의 야베스의 모든 사람은 블레셋 사람이 사울에게 한 모든 일을 전해 들었다.

그래서 그들의 용사들이 모두 나서서, 사울의 주검과 그의 아들들의 주검을 거두어다가 야베스로 가져 가서, 야베스에 있는 상수리나무 아래에 그들의 뼈를 묻고, 이레 동안 금식하였다.

사울이 주님을 배신하였기 때문에, 이렇게 죽었다. 그는 주님의 말씀을 지키지 않았고, 오히려 점쟁이와 상의하며 점쟁이의 지도를 받았다.

그는 주님께 지도를 받으려 하지 않았다. 그래서 주님께서 그를 죽이시고, 그의 나라를 이새의 아들 다윗에게 맡기셨다.
