- But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.
- Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.

- Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.

- 누가 마음을 아프게 하였다면, 실은 나를 마음 아프게 한 것이 아니라, 과장하지 않고 말해서, 어느 정도는 여러분 모두를 마음 아프게 한 것이라 하겠습니다.
- 여러분 대다수는 그러한 사람에게 이미 충분한 벌을 내렸습니다.
- 그러니 여러분은 도리어 그를 용서해 주고, 위로해 주어야 합니다. 그 사람이 지나친 슬픔에 짓눌리는 일이 없도록 해야 합니다.
- 그러므로 나는, 여러분이 그에게 사랑을 나타내어 보이기를 권합니다.
- 내가 그 편지를 쓴 것은, 여러분이 모든 일에 순종하는지를 시험하여 알아보려는 것이었습니다.

- To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;

- 여러분이 누구에게 무엇을 용서해 주면, 나도 용서해 줍니다. 내가 용서한 경우가 있다면, 그것은 그리스도 앞에서 여러분을 위하여 용서한 것입니다.
- 그렇게 하여 우리가 사탄에게 속아넘어가지 않으려 하였습니다. 우리는 사탄의 속셈을 모르는 것이 아닙니다.
- 내가 그리스도의 복음을 전하려고 드로아에 갔을 때에, 주님께서 내게 거기에서 일할 수 있는 길을 열어 주셨습니다.
- 그러나 나는 내 형제 디도를 만나지 못하여, 마음이 편하지 않아서, 그들과 작별하고 마케도니아로 갔습니다.
- 그러나 그리스도의 개선 행렬에 언제나 우리를 참가시키시고, 그리스도를 아는 지식의 향기를 어디에서나 우리를 통하여 풍기게 하시는 하나님께 감사를 드립니다.

- For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
- To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
- For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

- 우리는, 구원을 얻는 사람들 가운데서나, 멸망을 당하는 사람들 가운데서나, 하나님께 바치는 그리스도의 향기입니다.
- 그러나 멸망을 당하는 사람들에게는 죽음에 이르게 하는 죽음의 냄새가 되고, 구원을 얻는 사람들에게는 생명에 이르게 하는 생명의 향기가 됩니다. 이런 일을 누가 감당할 수 있겠습니까?
- 우리는, 저 많은 사람들처럼 하나님의 말씀을 팔아서 먹고 살아가는 장사꾼이 아닙니다. 우리는, 하나님께서 보내신 일꾼답게, 진실한 마음으로 일하는 사람들입니다. 우리는 하나님이 보시는 앞에서, 그리스도 안에서 말하는 것입니다.
