욥기 20:1-22:30

 소발은 잔인하기 짝이 없는 비유까지 서슴지 않고 하면서 욥에게 회개를 강조하였다. 이에 대하여 욥은 가만히 있을 수 없어서 악인의 형통함에 관하여 역설하였다. 엘리바스는 욥의 죄악이 크다고 책망하였다. 그러나 훗날에 그는 위로자의 자세로 돌아가 회개하여 불의를 버리면 하나님께서 다시 욥의 기도를 들어주실 것이라고 권면하였다.
  
  소발의 두번째 충고(20:1-20:29)    
 
  1. Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
  2. Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.
  3. I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
  4. Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
  5. That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
  1. 나아마 사람 소발이 대답하였다.
  2. 입을 다물고 있으려 했으나, 네 말을 듣고 있자니 화가 나서 참을 수가 없다.
  3. 네가 하는 말을 듣고 있자니 모두 나를 모욕하는 말이다. 그러나 깨닫게 하는 영이 내게 대답할 말을 일러주었다.
  4. 너도 이런 것쯤은 알고 있을 것이다. 이 땅에 사람이 생기기 시작한 그 옛날로부터,
  5. 악한 자의 승전가는 언제나 잠깐뿐이었으며, 경건하지 못한 자의 기쁨도 순간일 뿐이었다.
  1. Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
  2. Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
  3. He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
  4. The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
  5. His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
  1. 교만이 하늘 높은 줄 모르고, 머리가 구름에 닿는 것 같아도,
  2. 마침내 그도 분토처럼 사라지고 말며, 그를 본 적이 있는 사람도 그 교만한 자가 왜 안 보이느냐고 물으리라는 것쯤은, 너도 알고 있을 것이다.
  3. 꿈같이 잊혀져 다시는 흔적을 찾을 수 없게 되며, 마치 밤에 본 환상처럼 사라질 것이다.
  4. 그를 본 적이 있는 사람도 다시는 그를 볼 수 없으며, 그가 살던 곳에서도 다시는 그를 볼 수 없을 것이다.
  5. 그 자녀들이 가난한 사람에게 용서를 구할 것이며, 착취한 재물을 가난한 사람에게 배상하게 될 것이다.
  1. His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
  2. Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
  3. Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
  4. Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
  5. He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
  1. 그의 몸에 한때는 젊음이 넘쳤어도, 그 젊음은 역시 그와 함께 먼지 속에 눕게 될 것이다.
  2. 그가 혀로 악을 맛보니, 맛이 좋았다.
  3. 그래서 그는 악을 혀 밑에 넣고, 그 달콤한 맛을 즐겼다.
  4. 그러나 그것이 뱃속으로 내려가서는 쓴맛으로 변해 버렸다. 그것이 그의 몸 속에서 독사의 독이 되어 버렸다.
  5. 그 악한 자는 꿀꺽 삼킨 재물을 다 토해 냈다. 하나님은 이렇게 그 재물을 그 악한 자의 입에서 꺼내어서 빼앗긴 사람들에게 되돌려 주신다.
  1. He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.
  2. He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
  3. That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.
  4. Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
  5. Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
  1. 악한 자가 삼킨 것은 독과도 같은 것, 독사에 물려 죽듯이 그 독으로 죽는다.
  2. 올리브 기름이 강물처럼 흐르는 것을 그는 못 볼 것이다. 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 것도 못 볼 것이다.
  3. 그는 수고하여 얻은 것을 마음대로 먹지도 못하고 되돌려보내며, 장사해서 얻은 재물을 마음대로 누리지도 못할 것이다.
  4. 이것은, 그가 가난한 이들을 억압하고 돌보지 않았기 때문이며, 자기가 세우지도 않은 남의 집을 강제로 빼앗았기 때문이다.
  5. 그는 아무리 가져도 만족하지 못한다. 탐욕에 얽매여 벗어나지를 못한다.
  1. There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
  2. In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
  3. When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
  4. He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.
  5. It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
  1. 먹을 때에는 남기는 것 없이 모조리 먹어 치우지만, 그의 번영은 오래 가지 못한다.
  2. 성공하여 하늘 끝까지 이를 때에, 그가 재앙을 만나고, 온갖 불운이 그에게 밀어닥칠 것이다.
  3. 그가 먹고 싶은 대로 먹게 놓아 두어라. 하나님이 그에게 맹렬한 진노를 퍼부으시며, 분노를 비처럼 쏟으실 것이다.
  4. 그가 철 무기를 피하려 해도, 놋화살이 그를 꿰뚫을 것이다.
  5. 등을 뚫고 나온 화살을 빼낸다 하여도, 쓸개를 휘젓고 나온 번쩍이는 활촉이 그를 겁에 질리게 할 것이다.
  1. All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
  2. The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
  3. The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
  4. This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
  1. 그가 간직한 평생 모은 모든 재산이 삽시간에 없어지고, 풀무질을 하지 않아도 저절로 타오르는 불길이 그를 삼킬 것이며, 그 불이 집에 남아 있는 사람들까지 사를 것이다.
  2. 하늘이 그의 죄악을 밝히 드러내며, 땅이 그를 고발할 것이다.
  3. 하나님이 진노하시는 날에, 그 집의 모든 재산이 홍수에 쓸려가듯 다 쓸려갈 것이다.
  4. 이것이, 악한 사람이 하나님께 받을 몫이며, 하나님이 그의 것으로 정해 주신 유산이 될 것이다.
 
  욥의 변증(21:1-21:34)    
 
  1. But Job answered and said,
  2. Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
  3. Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.
  4. As for me, is my complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?
  5. Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.
  1. 욥이 대답하였다.
  2. 너희는 내 말을 건성으로 듣지 말아라. 너희가 나를 위로할 생각이면, 내가 하는 말에 귀를 기울여라. 그것이 내게는 유일한 위로이다.
  3. 내게도 말할 기회를 좀 주어라. 조롱하려면, 내 말이 다 끝난 다음에나 해라.
  4. 내가 겨우 썩어질 육신을 두고 논쟁이나 하겠느냐? 내가 이렇게 초조해하는 데에는, 그럴 이유가 있다.
  5. 내 곤경을 좀 보아라. 놀라지 않을 수 없을 것이다. 기가 막혀 손으로 입을 막고 말 것이다.
  1. Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.
  2. Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
  3. Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
  4. Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
  5. Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
  1. 내게 일어난 일은 기억에 떠올리기만 해도 떨리고, 몸에 소름이 끼친다.
  2. 어찌하여 악한 자들이 잘 사느냐? 어찌하여 그들이 늙도록 오래 살면서 번영을 누리느냐?
  3. 어찌하여 악한 자들이 자식을 낳고, 자손을 보며, 그 자손이 성장하는 것까지 본다는 말이냐?
  4. 그들의 가정에는 아무런 재난도 없고, 늘 평화가 깃들며, 하나님마저도 채찍으로 치시지 않는다.
  5. 그들의 수소는 틀림없이 새끼를 배게 하며, 암소는 새끼를 밸 때마다 잘도 낳는다.
  1. They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
  2. They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.
  3. They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
  4. Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
  5. What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
  1. 어린 자식들은, 바깥에다가 풀어 놓으면, 양 떼처럼 뛰논다.
  2. 소구와 거문고에 맞춰서 목청을 돋우며, 피리 소리에 어울려서 흥겨워하는구나.
  3. 그들은 그렇게 일생을 행복하게 살다가, 죽을 때에는 아무런 고통도 없이 조용하게 스올로 내려간다.
  4. 그런데도 악한 자들은, 자기들을 그냥 좀 내버려 두라고 하나님께 불평을 한다. 이렇게 살면 되지, 하나님의 뜻을 알 필요가 무엇이냐고 한다.
  5. 전능하신 분이 누구이기에 그를 섬기며, 그에게 기도한다고 해서 무슨 도움이 되겠느냐고 한다.
  1. Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
  2. How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.
  3. They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.
  4. God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
  5. His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
  1. 그들은 자기들의 성공이 자기들 힘으로 이룬 것이라고 주장하지만, 나는 그들의 생각을 용납할 수 없다.
  2. 악한 자들의 등불이 꺼진 일이 있느냐? 과연 그들에게 재앙이 닥친 일이 있느냐? 하나님이 진노하시어, 그들을 고통에 빠지게 하신 적이 있느냐?
  3. 그들이 바람에 날리는 검불과 같이 된 적이 있느냐? 폭풍에 날리는 겨와 같이 된 적이 있느냐?
  4. 너희는 "하나님이 아버지의 죄를 그 자식들에게 갚으신다" 하고 말하지만, 그런 말 말아라! 죄 지은 그 사람이 벌을 받아야 한다. 그래야만 그가 제 죄를 깨닫는다.
  5. 죄인은 제 스스로 망하는 꼴을 제 눈으로 보아야 하며, 전능하신 분께서 내리시는 진노의 잔을 받아 마셔야 한다.
  1. For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
  2. Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.
  3. One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
  4. His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
  5. And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.
  1. 무너진 삶을 다 살고 죽을 때가 된 사람이라면, 제 집에 관해서 무슨 관심이 더 있겠느냐?
  2. 하나님은 높은 곳에 있는 자들까지 심판하는 분이신데, 그에게 사람이 감히 지식을 가르칠 수 있겠느냐?
  3. 어떤 사람은 죽을 때까지도 기력이 정정하다. 죽을 때에도 행복하게, 편안하게 죽는다.
  4. 평소에 그의 몸은 어느 한 곳도 영양이 부족하지 않으며, 뼈마디마다 생기가 넘친다.
  5. 그러나 어떤 사람은 행복 하고는 거리가 멀다. 고통스럽게 살다가, 고통스럽게 죽는다.
  1. They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
  2. Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
  3. For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
  4. Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,
  5. That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
  1. 그러나 그들 두 사람은 다 함께 티끌 속에 눕고 말며, 하나같이 구더기로 덮이는 신세가 된다.
  2. 너희의 생각을 내가 다 잘 알고 있다. 너희의 속셈은 나를 해하려는 것이다.
  3. 너희의 말이 "세도 부리던 자의 집이 어디에 있으며, 악한 자가 살던 집이 어디에 있느냐?" 한다.
  4. 너희는 세상을 많이 돌아다닌 견문 넓은 사람들과 말을 해 본 일이 없느냐? 너희는 그 여행자들이 하는 말을 알지 못하느냐?
  5. 그들이 하는 말을 들어 보아라. 하나님이 진노하셔서 재앙을 내리셔도, 항상 살아 남는 사람은 악한 자라고 한다.
  1. Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
  2. Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
  3. The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him.
  4. How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth falsehood?
  1. 그 악한 자를 꾸짖는 사람도 없고, 그가 저지른 대로 징벌하는 이도 없다고 한다.
  2. 그가 죽어 무덤으로 갈 때에는, 그 화려하게 가꾼 무덤으로 갈 때에는,
  3. 수도 없는 조객들이 장례 행렬을 따르고, 골짜기 흙마저 그의 시신을 부드럽게 덮어 준다고 한다.
  4. 그런데 어찌하여 너희는 빈말로만 나를 위로하려 하느냐? 너희가 하는 말은 온통 거짓말뿐이다.
 
  엘리바스의 세번째 충고(22:1-22:30)    
 
  1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
  2. Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?
  3. Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?
  4. Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?
  5. Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?
  1. 데만 사람 엘리바스가 대답하였다.
  2. 사람이 하나님께 무슨 유익을 끼쳐드릴 수 있느냐? 아무리 슬기로운 사람이라고 해도, 그분께 아무런 유익을 끼쳐드릴 수가 없다.
  3. 네가 올바르다고 하여 그것이 전능하신 분께 무슨 기쁨이 되겠으며, 네 행위가 온전하다고 하여 그것이 그분께 무슨 유익이 되겠느냐?
  4. 네가 하나님을 경외한 것 때문에, 하나님이 너를 책망하시며, 너를 심판하시겠느냐?
  5. 오히려 네 죄가 많고, 네 죄악이 끝이 없으니, 그러한 것이 아니냐?
  1. For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
  2. Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
  3. But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.
  4. Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
  5. Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
  1. 네가 까닭 없이 친족의 재산을 압류하고, 옷을 빼앗아 헐벗게 하고,
  2. 목마른 사람에게 마실 물 한 모금도 주지 않고, 배고픈 사람에게 먹을 것도 주지 않았기 때문이 아니겠느냐?
  3. 너는 권세를 이용하여 땅을 차지하고, 지위를 이용하여 이 땅에서 거들먹거리면서 살았다.
  4. 너는 과부들을 빈 손으로 돌려보내고, 고아들을 혹사하고 학대하였다.
  5. 그러기에 이제 네가 온갖 올무에 걸려 들고, 공포에 사로잡힌 것이다.
  1. Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
  2. Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
  3. And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
  4. Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
  5. Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
  1. 어둠이 덮쳐서 네가 앞을 볼 수 없고, 홍수가 너를 뒤덮는 것이다.
  2. 하나님이 하늘 높은 곳에 계시지 않느냐? 저 공중에 높이 떠 있는 별들까지도, 하나님이 내려다보고 계시지 않느냐?
  3. 그런데도 너는 "하나님이 무엇을 아시겠으며, 검은 구름 속에 숨어 계시면서 어떻게 우리를 심판하실 수 있겠느냐?
  4. 짙은 구름에 그가 둘러싸여 어떻게 보실 수 있겠느냐? 다만 하늘에서만 왔다갔다 하실 뿐이겠지!" 하는구나.
  5. 너는 아직도 옛 길을 고집할 셈이냐? 악한 자들이 걷던 그 길을 고집할 셈이냐?
  1. Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:
  2. Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
  3. Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
  4. The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
  5. Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
  1. 그들은 때가 되기도 전에 사로잡혀 갔고, 그 기초가 무너져서 강물에 떠내려가 버렸다.
  2. 그런데도 그들은 하나님께 말하기를 "우리를 좀 그냥 내버려 두십시오. 전능하신 분이라고 하여 우리에게 무슨 일을 더 하실 수 있겠습니까?" 하였다.
  3. 그들의 집에 좋은 것을 가득 채워 주신 분이 바로 하나님이신데도 악한 자들이 그런 생각을 하다니, 나는 이해할 수 없다.
  4. 그런 악한 자가 형벌을 받을 때에, 의로운 사람이 그것을 보고 기뻐하며, 죄 없는 사람들이 그것을 보고 비웃기를
  5. "과연 우리 원수는 전멸되고, 남은 재산은 불에 타서 없어졌다" 할 것이다.
  1. Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
  2. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
  3. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
  4. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
  5. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
  1. 그러므로 너는 하나님과 화해하고, 하나님을 원수로 여기지 말아라. 그러면 하나님이 너에게 은총을 베푸실 것이다.
  2. 하나님이 친히 말씀하여 주시는 교훈을 받아들이고, 그의 말씀을 네 마음에 깊이 간직하여라.
  3. 전능하신 분에게로 겸손하게 돌아가면, 너는 다시 회복될 것이다. 온갖 불의한 것을 네 집 안에서 내버려라.
  4. 황금도 티끌 위에다가 내버리고, 오빌의 정금도 계곡의 돌바닥 위에 내던져라.
  5. 그러면 전능하신 분이 네 보물이 되시고, 산더미처럼 쌓이는 은이 되실 것이다.
  1. For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
  2. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
  3. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
  4. When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
  5. He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
  1. 그 때가 되어야 비로소 너는, 전능하신 분을 진정으로 의지하게 되고, 그분만이 네 기쁨의 근원이심을 알게 될 것이다.
  2. 네가 그분에게 기도를 드리면 들어주실 것이며, 너는 서원한 것을 다 이룰 것이다.
  3. 하는 일마다 다 잘 되고, 빛이 네가 걷는 길을 비추어 줄 것이다.
  4. 사람들이 쓰러지거든, 너는 그것이 교만 때문이라고 일러주어라. 하나님은 겸손한 사람을 구원하신다.
  5. 그분은 죄 없는 사람을 구원하신다. 너도 깨끗하게 되면, 그분께서 구해 주실 것이다.
