- Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

- The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
- The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
- Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

- 이스라엘아, 이렇게 고백하여라. "내가 어릴 때부터, 나의 원수들이 여러 번 나를 잔인하게 박해했다.
- 비록 내가 어릴 때부터, 내 원수들이 여러 번 나를 잔인하게 박해했으나, 그들은 나를 이겨 내지를 못했다.
- 밭을 가는 사람이 밭을 갈아엎듯 그들이 나의 등을 갈아서, 거기에다가 고랑을 길게 냈으나,
- 의로우신 주님께서 악인의 사슬을 끊으시고, 나를 풀어 주셨다."
- 시온을 미워하는 사람은 그 어느 누구나, 수치를 당하고 물러가고 만다.

- Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
- Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
- Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.

- 그들은 지붕 위의 풀같이 되어, 자라기도 전에 말라 버리고 만다.
- 베는 사람의 품에도 차지 않고, 묶는 사람의 품에도 차지 않아
- 지나가는 사람 가운데 어느 누구도 "주님께서 너희에게 복을 베푸시기를 빈다" 하지 아니하며, "주님의 이름으로 너희에게 축복한다" 하지도 아니할 것이다.
