- For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
- For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
- This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
- For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

- 형제자매 여러분, 하나님께서는 여러분을 부르셔서, 자유를 누리게 하셨습니다. 그러나 여러분은 그 자유를 육체의 욕망을 만족시키는 구실로 삼지 말고, 사랑으로 서로 섬기십시오.
- 모든 율법은 "네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하여라" 하신 한 마디 말씀 속에 다 들어 있습니다.
- 그런데 여러분이 서로 물어뜯고 잡아먹고 하면, 피차 멸망하고 말 터이니, 조심하십시오.
- 내가 또 말합니다. 여러분은 성령께서 인도하여 주시는 대로 살아가십시오. 그러면 육체의 욕망을 채우려 하지 않을 것입니다.
- 육체의 욕망은 성령을 거스르고, 성령이 바라시는 것은 육체를 거스릅니다. 이 둘이 서로 적대관계에 있으므로, 여러분은 자기가 원하는 일을 할 수 없게 됩니다.

- But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
- Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
- Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
- Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

- 육체의 행실은 환히 드러난 것들입니다. 곧 음행과 더러움과 방탕과
- 우상숭배와 마술과 원수맺음과 다툼과 시기와 분냄과 분쟁과 분열과 파당과
- 질투와 술취함과 흥청망청 먹고 마시는 놀음과, 그와 같은 것들입니다. 내가 전에도 여러분에게 경고하였지만, 이제 또다시 경고합니다. 이런 짓을 하는 사람들은 하나님의 나라를 상속받지 못할 것입니다.

- Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
- And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
- If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
- Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

- 온유와 절제입니다. 이런 것들을 막을 법이 없습니다.
- 그리스도 예수께 속한 사람은 정욕과 욕망과 함께 자기의 육체를 십자가에 못박았습니다.
- 우리가 성령으로 삶을 얻었으니, 우리는 성령이 인도해 주심을 따라 살아갑시다.
- 우리는 잘난 체하거나 서로 노엽게 하거나 질투하거나 하지 않도록 합시다.
