- Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
- Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.
- Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
- Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
- Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

- 너는 네 우물의 물을 마시고, 네 샘에서 솟아나는 물을 마셔라.
- 어찌하여 네 샘물을 바깥으로 흘러 보내며, 그 물줄기를 거리로 흘러 보내려느냐?
- 그 물은 너 혼자만의 것으로 삼고, 다른 사람들과 나누지 말아라.
- 네 샘이 복된 줄 알고, 네가 젊어서 맞은 아내와 더불어 즐거워하여라.
- 아내는 사랑스러운 암사슴, 아름다운 암노루, 그의 품을 언제나 만족스럽게 생각하고, 그의 사랑을 언제나 사모하여라.

- And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
- For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
- His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
- He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

- 내 아들아, 어찌하여 음행하는 여자를 사모하며, 부정한 여자의 가슴을 껴안겠느냐?
- 주님의 눈은 사람의 길을 지켜 보시며, 그 모든 길을 살펴보신다.
- 악인은 자기의 악에 걸리고, 자기 죄의 올무에 걸려 들어서,
- 훈계를 받지 않아서 죽고, 너무나 미련하여 길을 잃는다.
