- Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
- She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
- She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
- Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
- O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

- 지혜가 부르고 있지 않느냐? 명철이 소리를 높이고 있지 않느냐?
- 지혜가 길가의 높은 곳과, 네거리에 자리를 잡고 서 있다.
- 마을 어귀 성문 곁에서, 여러 출입문에서 외친다.
- "사람들아, 내가 너희를 부른다. 내가 모두에게 소리를 높인다.
- 어수룩한 사람들아, 너희는 명철을 배워라. 미련한 사람들아, 너희는 지혜를 배워라.

- Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
- For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
- All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
- They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
- Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

- 너희는 들어라. 나는 옳은 말만 하고, 내 입술로는 바른 말만 한다.
- 내 입은 진실을 말하며, 내 입술은 악을 싫어한다.
- 내가 하는 말은 모두 의로운 것뿐이며, 거기에는 비뚤어지거나 그릇된 것이 없다.
- 총명이 있는 사람은 이 모든 말을 옳게 여기고, 지식이 있는 사람은 이 모든 말을 바르게 여긴다.
- 너희는 은을 받기보다는 내 훈계를 받고, 금을 선택하기보다는 지식을 선택하여라.
