- He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

- 늘 악한 일만 꾀하는 사람은, 이간질꾼이라고 불린다.
- 어리석은 사람은 죄짓는 것만 계획한다. 오만한 사람은 누구에게나 미움을 받는다.
- 재난을 당할 때에 낙심하는 것은, 너의 힘이 약하다는 것을 드러내는 것이다.
- 너는 죽을 자리로 끌려가는 사람을 건져 주고, 살해될 사람을 돕는 데 인색하지 말아라.
- 너는 그것이 '내가 알 바 아니라'고 생각하며 살겠지만, 마음을 헤아리시는 주님께서 어찌 너의 마음을 모르시겠느냐? 너의 목숨을 지키시는 주님께서 다 알고 계시지 않겠느냐? 그분은 각 사람의 행실대로 갚으실 것이다.

- 내 아이들아, 꿀을 먹어라. 그것은 좋은 것이다. 송이꿀을 먹어라. 그것은 너의 입에 달콤할 것이다.
- 지혜도 너의 영혼에게는 그와 같다는 것을 알아라. 그것을 얻으면 너의 장래가 밝아지고, 너의 소망이 끊어지지 않는다.
- 악한 사람아, 의인의 집을 노리지 말고, 그가 쉬는 곳을 헐지 말아라.
