- 먼 데서 오는 기쁜 소식은 목이 타는 사람에게 주어지는 냉수와 같다.

- 의인이 악인 앞에 무릎을 꿇는 것은, 흐려진 샘물과 같고, 오염된 우물물과 같다.
- 꿀도 너무 많이 먹는 것은 좋지 않듯이, 영예를 지나치게 구하는 것은 좋지 않다.
- 자기의 기분을 자제하지 못하는 사람은, 성이 무너져 성벽이 없는 것과 같다.
