아모스 4:1-6:14

 아모스는 바산의 암소들로 비유되는 북이스라엘의 상류층 사람들에 대한 심판을 선포한 후, 여러 재앙을 당해도 도무지 회개하지 않고 형식적으로만 하나님을 섬기는 북이스라엘의 전 국민에게 심판을 선포하였다. 그는 북이스라엘의 멸망에 대한 애가를 불렀으며, 피할 수 없는 야웨의 날의 심판을 알렸다.
  
  북이스라엘의 심판(4:1-6:14)    
 
  1. Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.
  2. The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.
  3. And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the LORD.
  4. Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:
  5. And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
  1. 사마리아 언덕에 사는 너희 바산의 암소들아, 이 말을 들어라. 가난한 사람들을 억압하고, 빈궁한 사람들을 짓밟는 자들아, 저희 남편들에게 마실 술을 가져 오라고 조르는 자들아,
  2. 주 하나님이 당신의 거룩하심을 두고 맹세하신다. "두고 보아라. 너희에게 때가 온다. 사람들이 너희를 갈고리로 꿰어 끌고 갈 날, 너희 남은 사람들까지도 낚시로 꿰어 잡아갈 때가 온다.
  3. 너희는 무너진 성 틈으로 하나씩 끌려 나가서 하르몬에 내동댕이쳐질 것이다." 주님께서 하신 말씀이다.
  4. "너희는 베델로 몰려가서 죄를 지어라. 길갈로 들어가서 더욱더 죄를 지어라. 아침마다 희생제물을 바치고, 사흘마다 십일조를 바쳐 보아라.
  5. 또 누룩 넣은 빵을 감사제물로 불살라 바치고, 큰소리로 알리면서 자원예물을 드려 보아라. 이스라엘 자손아, 바로 이런 것들이 너희가 좋아하는 것이 아니냐?" 주 하나님이 하신 말씀이다.
  1. And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
  2. And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
  3. So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
  4. I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
  5. I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
  1. "내가, 너희가 사는 모든 성읍에서 끼닛거리를 남기지 않고, 너희가 사는 모든 곳에서 먹거리가 떨어지게 하였다. 그런데도 너희는 나에게로 돌아오지 않았다." 주님께서 하신 말씀이다.
  2. "그래서 추수하기 석 달 전에 내리는 비도 너희에게는 내리지 않았다. 또 내가 어떤 성읍에는 비를 내리고, 어떤 성읍에는 비를 내리지 않았다. 어떤 들녘에는 비를 내리고, 어떤 들녘에는 비를 내리지 않아서 가뭄이 들었다.
  3. 두세 성읍의 주민들이 물을 마시려고, 비틀거리며 다른 성읍으로 몰려갔지만, 거기에서도 물을 실컷 마시지는 못하였다. 그런데도 너희는 나에게로 돌아오지 않았다." 주님께서 하신 말씀이다.
  4. "내가 잎마름병과 깜부기병을 내려서 너희를 치고, 너희의 정원과 포도원을 황폐하게 하였다. 너희의 무화과나무와 올리브 나무는, 메뚜기가 삼켜 버렸다. 그런데도 너희는 나에게로 돌아오지 않았다." 주님께서 하신 말씀이다.
  5. "내가 옛날 이집트에 전염병을 내린 것처럼, 너희에게도 내렸다. 내가 너희의 젊은이들을 칼로 죽였으며, 너희의 말들을 약탈당하게 하였다. 또 너희 진에서 시체 썩는 악취가 올라와서, 너희의 코를 찌르게 하였다. 그런데도 너희는 나에게로 돌아오지 않았다." 주님께서 하신 말씀이다.
  1. I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
  2. Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
  3. For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
  1. "나 하나님이 옛날에 소돔과 고모라를 뒤엎은 것처럼, 너희의 성읍들을 뒤엎었다. 그 때에 너희는 불 속에서 끄집어낸 나뭇조각처럼 되었다. 그런데도 너희는 나에게로 돌아오지 않았다." 주님께서 하신 말씀이다.
  2. "그러므로 이스라엘아, 내가 너에게 다시 그렇게 하겠다. 바로 내가 너에게 이렇게 하기로 작정하였으니, 이스라엘아, 너는 너의 하나님을 만날 준비를 하여라."
  3. 산을 만드시고, 바람을 창조하시고, 하시고자 하는 것을 사람에게 알리시고, 여명을 어둠으로 바꾸시고, 땅의 높은 곳을 밟고서 걸어다니시는 분, 그분의 이름은 '주 만군의 하나님'이시다.
 
 
  1. Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
  2. The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
  3. For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
  4. For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
  5. But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.
  1. 이스라엘 가문아, 이 말을 들어라. 이것은 너희를 두고, 내가 지은 애가다.
  2. "처녀 이스라엘이 쓰러져서, 다시 일어날 수 없구나. 제 땅에서 버려졌어도, 일으켜 줄 사람이 하나도 없구나!"
  3. 주 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다. "이스라엘 가문 가운데서 천 명이 싸우러 나간 성읍에는 백 명만이 살아 남고, 백 명이 싸우러 나간 성읍에는 열 명만이 살아 남을 것이다."
  4. "나 주가 이스라엘 가문에 선고한다. 너희는 나를 찾아라. 그러면 산다.
  5. 너희는 베델을 찾지 말고, 길갈로 들어가지 말고, 브엘세바로 넘어가지 말아라. 길갈 주민들은 반드시 사로잡혀 가고, 베델은 폐허가 될 것이다."
  1. Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
  2. Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
  3. Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
  4. That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
  5. They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
  1. 너희는 주님을 찾아라. 그러면 산다. 그렇지 않으면, 주님께서 요셉의 집에 불같이 달려드시어 베델을 살라버리실 것이니, 그 때에는 아무도 그 불을 끄지 못할 것이다.
  2. 너희는 공의를 쓰디쓴 소태처럼 만들며, 정의를 땅바닥에 팽개치는 자들이다.
  3. 묘성과 삼성을 만드신 분, 어둠을 여명으로 바꾸시며, 낮을 캄캄한 밤으로 바꾸시며, 바닷물을 불러 올려서 땅 위에 쏟으시는 그분을 찾아라. 그분의 이름 '주님'이시다.
  4. 그분은 강한 자도 갑자기 망하게 하시고, 견고한 산성도 폐허가 되게 하신다.
  5. 사람들은 법정에서 시비를 올바로 가리는 사람을 미워하고, 바른말 하는 사람을 싫어한다.
  1. Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
  2. For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
  3. Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.
  4. Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
  5. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
  1. 너희가 가난한 사람을 짓밟고 그들에게서 곡물세를 착취하니, 너희가 다듬은 돌로 집을 지어도 거기에서 살지는 못한다. 너희가 아름다운 포도원을 가꾸어도 그 포도주를 마시지는 못한다.
  2. 너희들이 저지른 무수한 범죄와 엄청난 죄악을 나는 다 알고 있다. 너희는 의로운 사람을 학대하며, 뇌물을 받고 법정에서 가난한 사람들을 억울하게 하였다.
  3. 그러므로 신중한 사람들이 이런 때에 입을 다문다. 때가 악하기 때문이다.
  4. 너희가 살려면, 선을 구하고, 악을 구하지 말아라. 너희 말대로 주 만군의 하나님이, 참으로 너희와 함께 계실 것이다.
  5. 행여 주 만군의 하나님이 남아 있는 요셉의 남은 자를 불쌍히 여기실지 모르니, 악을 미워하고, 선을 사랑하여라. 법정에서 올바르게 재판하여라.
  1. Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the LORD, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
  2. And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.
  3. Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
  4. As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
  5. Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
  1. 그러므로, 나의 주 만군의 하나님, 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. "광장마다 통곡 소리가 들리고, 거리마다 '아이고, 아이고' 하며 우는 소리가 들릴 것이다. 사람들은 농부들을 불러다가 울게 하고, 울음꾼을 불러다가 곡을 하게 할 것이다.
  2. 포도원마다 통곡 소리가 진동할 것이다. 내가 너희 가운데로 지나가는 날, 이 모든 일이 일어날 것이다." 주님께서 말씀하신다.
  3. 너희는 망한다! 주님의 날이 오기를 바라는 자들아, 왜 주님의 날을 사모하느냐? 그 날은 어둡고 빛이라고는 없다.
  4. 사자를 피하여 도망가다가 곰을 만나거나, 집 안으로 들어가서 벽에 손을 대었다가, 뱀에게 물리는 것과 같다.
  5. 주님의 날은 어둡고 빛이라고는 없다. 캄캄해서, 한 줄기 불빛도 없다.
  1. I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
  2. Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
  3. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
  4. But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
  5. Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
  1. "나는, 너희가 벌이는 절기 행사들이 싫다. 역겹다. 너희가 성회로 모여도 도무지 기쁘지 않다.
  2. 너희가 나에게 번제물이나 곡식제물을 바친다 해도, 내가 그 제물을 받지 않겠다. 너희가 화목제로 바치는 살진 짐승도 거들떠보지 않겠다.
  3. 시끄러운 너의 노랫소리를 나의 앞에서 집어치워라! 너의 거문고 소리도 나는 듣지 않겠다.
  4. 너희는, 다만 공의가 물처럼 흐르게 하고, 정의가 마르지 않는 강처럼 흐르게 하여라.
  5. 이스라엘 가문아, 사십 년을 광야에서 사는 동안에, 너희가 나에게 희생제물과 곡식제물을 바친 일이 있느냐?
  1. But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
  2. Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
  1. 이제는 너희가 왕으로 떠받드는 식굿의 신상들과 너희의 별 신 기윤의 신상들을 너희가 짊어지고 갈 것이다. 그것들은 너희가 만들어서 섬긴 우상들이다.
  2. 그러므로 내가 너희를 다마스쿠스 저 너머로 사로잡혀 가게 하겠다." 주님께서 말씀하신다. 그분의 이름은 만군의 하나님이시다.
 
 
  1. Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
  2. Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
  3. Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;
  4. That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;
  5. That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;
  1. 너희는 망한다! 시온이 안전하다고 생각하고 거기에서 사는 자들아, 사마리아의 요새만 믿고서 안심하고 사는 자들아, 이스라엘 가문이 의지하는 으뜸가는 나라, 이스라엘의 고귀한 지도자들아!
  2. 너희는 갈레로 건너가서 살펴보아라. 거기에서 다시 큰 성읍 하맛으로 가 보아라. 그리고 블레셋 사람이 사는 가드로도 내려가 보아라! 그들이 너희보다 더 강하냐? 그들의 영토가 너희 것보다 더 넓으냐?
  3. 너희는 재난이 닥쳐올 날을 피하려고 하면서도, 너희가 하는 일은, 오히려 폭력의 날을 가까이 불러들이고 있다.
  4. 너희는 망한다! 상아 침상에 누우며 안락의자에서 기지개 켜며 양 떼에서 골라 잡은 어린 양 요리를 먹고, 우리에서 송아지를 골라 잡아먹는 자들,
  5. 거문고 소리에 맞추어서 헛된 노래를 흥얼대며, 다윗이나 된 것처럼 악기들을 만들어 내는 자들,
  1. That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
  2. Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.
  3. The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.
  4. And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
  5. And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.
  1. 대접으로 포도주를 퍼마시며, 가장 좋은 향유를 몸에 바르면서도 요셉의 집이 망하는 것은 걱정도 하지 않는 자들,
  2. 이제는 그들이 그 맨 먼저 사로잡혀서 끌려갈 것이다. 마음껏 흥청대던 잔치는 끝장나고 말 것이다.
  3. 주 하나님이 스스로를 두고 맹세하신다. 만군의 하나님 주님께서 하시는 말씀이다. "나는 야곱의 교만이 밉다. 그들이 사는 호화로운 저택이 싫다. 그들이 사는 성읍과 그 안에 있는 모든 것들을 내가 원수에게 넘겨 주겠다.
  4. 그 때에 가서는, 비록 한 집에 열 사람이 남아 있다고 하여도, 끝내 모두 죽을 것이다.
  5. 시체들을 불살라 장례를 치르는 친척이 와서, 그 집에서 시체들을 내가면서, 집 안에 있는 사람에게, 옆에 아직 시체가 더 있느냐고 물으면, 남아 있는 그 사람이 '없다'고 대답할 것이다. 그러면 그 친척이 '조용히 하라'고 하면서 '주님의 이름을 함부로 불러서는 안 된다'고 말할 것이다.
  1. For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
  2. Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:
  3. Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?
  4. But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
  1. 나 주가 명한다. 큰 집은 허물어져서 산산조각 나고, 작은 집은 부서져서 박살 날 것이다.
  2. 말들이 바위 위에서 달릴 수 있느냐? 사람이 소를 부려 바다를 갈 수 있느냐? 그런데도 너희는 공의를 뒤엎어 독약을 만들고, 정의에서 거둔 열매를 쓰디쓴 소태처럼 만들었다.
  3. 너희가 로드발을 점령하였다고 기뻐하며 '가르나임을 우리의 힘만으로 정복하지 않았느냐'고 말하지만,
  4. 이스라엘 가문아, 내가 한 나라를 일으켜서 너희를 치겠다. 만군의 하나님, 나 주의 말이다. 그들이 하맛 어귀에서 아라바 개울에 이르는 온 지역에서 너희를 억압할 것이다."
 
  인진(茵蔯, 5:7)  독초의 일종으로 ‘쑥’이나 ‘쓴 것’으로 번역됨
