- 누가 유능한 아내를 맞겠느냐? 그 값은 진주보다 더 뛰어나다.
- 남편은 진심으로 아내를 믿으며 가난을 모르고 산다.
- 그의 아내는 살아 있는 동안, 오직 선행으로 남편을 도우며, 해를 입히는 일이 없다.
- 양털과 삼을 구해다가, 부지런히 손을 놀려 일하기를 즐거워한다.
- 또한 상인의 배와 같이, 먼 곳에서 먹거리를 구하여 오기도 한다.

- She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
- She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
- She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
- She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
- She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

- 날이 밝기도 전에 일어나서 식구들에게는 음식을 만들어 주고, 여종들에게는 일을 정하여 맡긴다.
- 밭을 살 때에는 잘 살펴본 다음에 사들이고, 또 자기가 직접 번 돈으로 포도원도 사서 가꾼다.
- 허리를 단단히 동여매고, 억센 팔로 일을 한다.
- 사업이 잘 되어가는 것을 알고, 밤에도 등불을 끄지 않는다.
- 한 손으로는 물레질을 하고, 다른 손으로는 실을 탄다.

- She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
- She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

- She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

- 한 손은 펴서 가난한 사람을 돕고, 다른 손은 펴서 궁핍한 사람을 돕는다.
- 온 식구를 홍색 옷으로 따스하게 입히니, 눈이 와도 식구들 때문에 걱정하는 일이 없다.
- 손수 자기의 이부자리를 만들고, 고운 모시 옷과 자주색 옷을 지어 입는다.
- 남편은 마을 원로들과 함께 마을회관을 드나들며, 사람들의 존경을 받는다.
- 그의 아내는 모시로 옷을 지어 팔고, 띠를 만들어 상인에게 넘긴다.

- Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
- She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
- She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
- Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
- Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

- 자신감과 위엄이 몸에 배어 있고, 미래에 대한 두려움이 없다.
- 입만 열면 지혜가 저절로 나오고, 혀만 움직이면 상냥한 교훈이 쏟아져 나온다.
- 집안 일을 두루 살펴보고, 일하지 않고 얻은 양식은 먹는 법이 없다.
- 자식들도 모두 일어나서, 어머니 업적을 찬양하고 남편도 아내를 칭찬하여 이르기를
- "덕을 끼치는 여자들은 많이 있으나, 당신이 모든 여자 가운데 으뜸이오" 한다.

- Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
- Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

- 고운 것도 거짓되고, 아름다운 것도 헛되지만, 주님을 경외하는 여자는 칭찬을 받는다.
- 아내가 손수 거둔 결실은 아내에게 돌려라. 아내가 이룬 공로가 성문 어귀 광장에서 인정받게 하여라.
