  1. And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
  2. When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
  3. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
  4. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
  5. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
  1. He told them this parable: "Look at the fig tree and all the trees.
  2. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near.
  3. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
  4. "I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
  5. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
  1. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
  2. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
  3. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
  4. And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
  5. And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
  1. "Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap.
  2. For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth.
  3. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."
  4. Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives,
  5. and all the people came early in the morning to hear him at the temple.

  1. Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
  2. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
  3. Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
  4. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
  5. And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
  1. Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching,
  2. and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people.
  3. Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.
  4. And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus.
  5. They were delighted and agreed to give him money.
  1. And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
  2. Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
  3. And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
  4. And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
  5. And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
  1. He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present.
  2. Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.
  3. Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover."
  4. "Where do you want us to prepare for it?" they asked.
  5. He replied, "As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters,
  1. And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
  2. And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
  3. And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
  1. and say to the owner of the house, 'The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?'
  2. He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there."
  3. They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
