  1. And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.
  2. Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet?
  3. And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet.
  4. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle.
  5. Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad;
  1. " 'As for you, my flock, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will judge between one sheep and another, and between rams and goats.
  2. Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?
  3. Must my flock feed on what you have trampled and drink what you have muddied with your feet?
  4. " 'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says to them: See, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.
  5. Because you shove with flank and shoulder, butting all the weak sheep with your horns until you have driven them away,
  1. Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.
  2. And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
  3. And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.
  4. And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
  5. And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
  1. I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and another.
  2. I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd.
  3. I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the LORD have spoken.
  4. " 'I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of wild beasts so that they may live in the desert and sleep in the forests in safety.
  5. I will bless them and the places surrounding my hill. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.
  1. And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.
  2. And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.
  3. And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.
  4. Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord GOD.
  5. And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.
  1. The trees of the field will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the LORD, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them.
  2. They will no longer be plundered by the nations, nor will wild animals devour them. They will live in safety, and no one will make them afraid.
  3. I will provide for them a land renowned for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine in the land or bear the scorn of the nations.
  4. Then they will know that I, the LORD their God, am with them and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Sovereign LORD.
  5. You my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are people, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "

  1. Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
  2. Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,
  3. And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.
  4. I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
  5. Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:
  1. The word of the LORD came to me:
  2. "Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir; prophesy against it
  3. and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you and make you a desolate waste.
  4. I will turn your towns into ruins and you will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
  5. " 'Because you harbored an ancient hostility and delivered the Israelites over to the sword at the time of their calamity, the time their punishment reached its climax,
  1. Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.
  2. Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.
  3. And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.
  4. I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
  5. Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there:
  1. therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.
  2. I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste and cut off from it all who come and go.
  3. I will fill your mountains with the slain; those killed by the sword will fall on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines.
  4. I will make you desolate forever; your towns will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
  5. " 'Because you have said, "These two nations and countries will be ours and we will take possession of them," even though I the LORD was there,
  1. Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.
  2. And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume.
  3. Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.
  4. Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.
  5. As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
  1. therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will treat you in accordance with the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred of them and I will make myself known among them when I judge you.
  2. Then you will know that I the LORD have heard all the contemptible things you have said against the mountains of Israel. You said, "They have been laid waste and have been given over to us to devour."
  3. You boasted against me and spoke against me without restraint, and I heard it.
  4. This is what the Sovereign LORD says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.
  5. Because you rejoiced when the inheritance of the house of Israel became desolate, that is how I will treat you. You will be desolate, O Mount Seir, you and all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the LORD.' "

  1. Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:
  2. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:
  3. Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:
  4. Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;
  5. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
  1. "Son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say, 'O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD.
  2. This is what the Sovereign LORD says: The enemy said of you, "Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession." '
  3. Therefore prophesy and say, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because they ravaged and hounded you from every side so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations and the object of people's malicious talk and slander,
  4. therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign LORD : This is what the Sovereign LORD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and the deserted towns that have been plundered and ridiculed by the rest of the nations around you-
  5. this is what the Sovereign LORD says: In my burning zeal I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, for with glee and with malice in their hearts they made my land their own possession so that they might plunder its pastureland.'
  1. Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:
  2. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.
  3. But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.
  4. For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:
  5. And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:
  1. Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I speak in my jealous wrath because you have suffered the scorn of the nations.
  2. Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I swear with uplifted hand that the nations around you will also suffer scorn.
  3. " 'But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and fruit for my people Israel, for they will soon come home.
  4. I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor; you will be plowed and sown,
  5. and I will multiply the number of people upon you, even the whole house of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.
  1. And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
  2. Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of men.
  3. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou land devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations:
  4. Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.
  5. Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.
  1. I will increase the number of men and animals upon you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
  2. I will cause people, my people Israel, to walk upon you. They will possess you, and you will be their inheritance; you will never again deprive them of their children.
  3. " 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because people say to you, "You devour men and deprive your nation of its children,"
  4. therefore you will no longer devour men or make your nation childless, declares the Sovereign LORD.
  5. No longer will I make you hear the taunts of the nations, and no longer will you suffer the scorn of the peoples or cause your nation to fall, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "
