  1. But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
  2. And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
  3. And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
  4. But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
  5. And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
  1. "But when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION standing where it should not be (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.
  2. "The one who is on the housetop must not go down, or go in to get anything out of his house;
  3. and the one who is in the field must not turn back to get his coat.
  4. "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
  5. "But pray that it may not happen in the winter.
  1. For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
  2. And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
  3. And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
  4. For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
  5. But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
  1. "For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will.
  2. "Unless the Lord had shortened those days, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.
  3. "And then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ'; or, 'Behold, He is there'; do not believe him;
  4. for false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show signs and wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect.
  5. "But take heed; behold, I have told you everything in advance.
  1. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
  2. And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
  3. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
  4. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
  5. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
  1. "But in those days, after that tribulation, THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT,
  2. AND THE STARS WILL BE FALLING from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.
  3. "Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN CLOUDS with great power and glory.
  4. "And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven.
  5. "Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near.
  1. So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
  2. Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
  3. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
  4. But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
  5. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
  1. "Even so, you too, when you see these things happening, recognize that He is near, right at the door.
  2. "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
  3. "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.
  4. "But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
  5. "Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time will come.
  1. For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
  2. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
  3. Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
  4. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
  1. "It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay on the alert.
  2. "Therefore, be on the alert--for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning--
  3. in case he should come suddenly and find you asleep.
  4. "What I say to you I say to all, 'Be on the alert!'"
