  1. And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
  2. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
  3. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
  4. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
  5. In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
  1. The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name."
  2. And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.
  3. "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.
  4. "Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven."
  5. At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, "I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.
  1. All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
  2. And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
  3. For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
  1. "All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him."
  2. Turning to the disciples, He said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see,
  3. for I say to you, that many prophets and kings wished to see the things which you see, and did not see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and did not hear them."

  1. And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
  2. He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
  3. And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
  4. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
  5. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
  1. And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
  2. And He said to him, "What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?"
  3. And he answered, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
  4. And He said to him, "You have answered correctly; DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE."
  5. But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
  1. And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
  2. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
  3. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
  4. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
  5. And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
  1. Jesus replied and said, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.
  2. "And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
  3. "Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
  4. "But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion,
  5. and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him.
  1. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
  2. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
  3. And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
  1. "On the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.'
  2. "Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers' hands?"
  3. And he said, "The one who showed mercy toward him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do the same."
