  1. And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
  2. Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
  3. Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
  4. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
  5. Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
  1. And He was passing through from one city and village to another, teaching, and proceeding on His way to Jerusalem.
  2. And someone said to Him, "Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?" And He said to them,
  3. "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
  4. "Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, 'Lord, open up to us!' then He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know where you are from.'
  5. "Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets';
  1. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
  2. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
  3. And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
  4. And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
  5. The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
  1. and He will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.'
  2. "In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.
  3. "And they will come from east and west and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God.
  4. "And behold, some are last who will be first and some are first who will be last."
  5. Just at that time some Pharisees approached, saying to Him, "Go away, leave here, for Herod wants to kill You."
  1. And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
  2. Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
  3. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
  4. Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
  1. And He said to them, "Go and tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I reach My goal.'
  2. "Nevertheless I must journey on today and tomorrow and the next day; for it cannot be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.
  3. "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it!
  4. "Behold, your house is left to you desolate; and I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, 'BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!'"

  1. And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
  2. And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.
  3. And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
  4. And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;
  5. And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?
  1. It happened that when He went into the house of one of the leaders of the Pharisees on the Sabbath to eat bread, they were watching Him closely.
  2. And there in front of Him was a man suffering from dropsy.
  3. And Jesus answered and spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?"
  4. But they kept silent. And He took hold of him and healed him, and sent him away.
  5. And He said to them, "Which one of you will have a son or an ox fall into a well, and will not immediately pull him out on a Sabbath day?"
  1. And they could not answer him again to these things.
  1. And they could make no reply to this.
