  1. And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the LORD, and see how they do.
  2. And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
  3. But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
  4. And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
  5. And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
  1. After some days Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us return and visit the brethren in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they are."
  2. Barnabas wanted to take John, called Mark, along with them also.
  3. But Paul kept insisting that they should not take him along who had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not gone with them to the work.
  4. And there occurred such a sharp disagreement that they separated from one another, and Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus.
  5. But Paul chose Silas and left, being committed by the brethren to the grace of the Lord.
  1. And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
  1. And he was traveling through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

  1. Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
  2. Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.
  3. Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
  4. And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
  5. And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
  1. Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra And a disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek,
  2. and he was well spoken of by the brethren who were in Lystra and Iconium.
  3. Paul wanted this man to go with him; and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
  4. Now while they were passing through the cities, they were delivering the decrees which had been decided upon by the apostles and elders who were in Jerusalem, for them to observe.
  5. So the churches were being strengthened in the faith, and were increasing in number daily.
  1. Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
  2. After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
  3. And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
  4. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
  5. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.
  1. They passed through the Phrygian and Galatian region, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia;
  2. and after they came to Mysia, they were trying to go into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them;
  3. and passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.
  4. A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."
  5. When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.
  1. Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;
  2. And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.
  3. And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
  4. And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
  5. And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
  1. So putting out to sea from Troas, we ran a straight course to Samothrace, and on the day following to Neapolis;
  2. and from there to Philippi, which is a leading city of the district of Macedonia, a Roman colony; and we were staying in this city for some days.
  3. And on the Sabbath day we went outside the gate to a riverside, where we were supposing that there would be a place of prayer; and we sat down and began speaking to the women who had assembled.
  4. A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of God, was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul.
  5. And when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay." And she prevailed upon us.
