- At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
- And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
- And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
- Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
- And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

- そのとき， 弟子たちが イエス のところに 來て 言った． 「それでは， 天の 御國では， だれが 一番偉いのでしょうか． 」
- そこで， イエス は 小さい 子どもを 呼び 寄せ， 彼らの 眞中に 立たせて，
- 言われた． 「まことに， あなたがたに 告げます． あなたがたも 悔い 改めて 子どもたちのようにならない 限り， 決して 天の 御國には， はいれません．
- だから， この 子どものように， 自分を 低くする 者が， 天の 御國で 一番偉い 人です．
- また， だれでも， このような 子どものひとりを， わたしの 名のゆえに 受け 入れる 者は， わたしを 受け 入れるのです．

- But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
- Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
- Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
- And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
- Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

- しかし， わたしを 信じるこの 小さい 者たちのひとりにでもつまずきを 與えるような 者は， 大きい 石臼を 首にかけられて， 湖の 深みでおぼれ 死んだほうがましです．
- つまずきを 與えるこの 世は 忌まわしいものです． つまずきが 起こることは 避けられないが， つまずきをもたらす 者は 忌まわしいものです．
- もし， あなたの 手か 足の 一つがあなたをつまずかせるなら， それを 切って 捨てなさい． 片手片足でいのちにはいるほうが， 兩手兩足そろっていて 永遠の 火に 投げ 入れられるよりは， あなたにとってよいことです．
- また， もし， あなたの 一方の 目が， あなたをつまずかせるなら， それをえぐり 出して 捨てなさい． 片目でいのちにはいるほうが， 兩目そろっていて 燃える ゲヘナ に 投げ 入れられるよりは， あなたにとってよいことです．
- あなたがたは， この 小さい 者たちを， ひとりでも 見下げたりしないように 氣をつけなさい． まことに， あなたがたに 告げます． 彼らの 天の 御使いたちは， 天におられるわたしの 父の 御顔をいつも 見ているからです．

- For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
- How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
- And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
- Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

- 〔人の 子は， 滅んでいる 者を 救うために 來たのです． 〕
- あなたがたはどう 思いますか． もし， だれかが 百匹の 羊を 持っていて， そのうちの 一匹が 迷い 出たとしたら， その 人は 九十九匹を 山に 殘して， 迷った 一匹を 搜しに 出かけないでしょうか．
- そして， もし， いたとなれば， まことに， あなたがたに 告げます． その 人は 迷わなかった 九十九匹の 羊以上にこの 一匹を 喜ぶのです．
- このように， この 小さい 者たちのひとりが 滅びることは， 天にいますあなたがたの 父のみこころではありません．
