	출애굽기 9:1-10:29 모세는 바로 앞에서 악질, 독종, 우박, 메뚜기, 그리고 흑암 재앙을 행하였다. 그러나 마음이 완강한 바로는 이에 굴하기는커녕 오히려 모세를 위협하였다. 바로가 완강히 고집을 굽히지 않고 모세를 대적한 것은 하나님께서 권능을 행하심으로써 자신이 야웨 되심을 나타내시기 위해 바로의 마음을 내버려 두셨기 때문이었다.

Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,

Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.

And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel.

And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.

主はモ ― セに仰せられた．「パロのところに行って，彼に言え．ヘブル人の神，主はこう仰せられます．『わたしの民を行かせて，彼らをわたしに仕えさせよ．

もしあなたが，行かせることを拒み，なおも彼らをとどめておくなら，

見よ，主の手は，野にいるあなたの家畜，馬，ろば，らくだ，牛，羊の上に下り，非常に激しい疫病が起こる．

しかし主は，イスラエルの家畜とエジプトの家畜とを區別する．それでイスラエル人の家畜は一頭も死なない．』」

また，主は時を定めて，仰せられた．「あす，主はこの國でこのことを行なう．」

And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.

And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.

And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.

And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.

And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.

主は翌日このことをされたので，エジプトの家畜はことごとく死に，イスラエル人の家畜は一頭も死ななかった．

パロは使いをやった．すると，イスラエル人の家畜は一頭も死んでいなかった．それでも，パロの心は强情で，民を行かせなかった．

主はモ ― セとアロンに仰せられた．「あなたがたは，かまどのすすを兩手いっぱいに取れ．モ ― セはパロの前で，それを天に向けてまき散らせ．

それがエジプト全土にわたって，細かいほこりとなると，エジプト全土の人と ¿につき，うみの出る腫物となる．」

それで彼らはかまどのすすを取ってパロの前に立ち，モ ― セはそれを天に向けてまき散らした．すると，それは人と ¿につき，うみの出る腫物となった．

And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.

And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.

For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.

呪法師たちは，腫物のためにモ ― セの前に立つことができなかった．腫物が呪法師たちとすべてのエジプト人にできたからである．

しかし，主はパロの心をかたくなにされ，彼はふたりの言うことを聞き入れなかった．主がモ ― セに言われたとおりである．

主はモ ― セに仰せられた．「あしたの朝早く，パロの前に立ち，彼らに言え．ヘブル人の神，主はこう仰せられます．『わたしの民を行かせ，彼らをわたしに仕えさせよ．

今度は，わたしは，あなたとあなたの家臣とあなたの民とに，わたしのすべての災害を送る．わたしのような者は地のどこにもいないことを，あなたに知らせるためである．

わたしが今，手を伸ばして，あなたとあなたの民を疫病で打つなら，あなたは地から消し去られる．

And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.

As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?

Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.

Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.

He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:

それにもかかわらず，わたしは，わたしの力をあなたに示すためにあなたを立てておく．また，わたしの名を全地に告げ知らせるためである．

あなたはまだわたしの民に對して高ぶっており，彼らを行かせようとしない．

さあ，今度は，あすの今ごろ，エジプトにおいて建國の日以來，今までになかったきわめて激しい音をわたしは降らせる．

それゆえ，今すぐ使いをやり，あなたの家畜，あなたが持っている野にあるすべてのものを避難させよ．野にいて家へ連れ戾すことのできない人や ¿はみな音が落ちて來ると死んでしまう．』」

パロの家臣のうちで主のことばを恐れた者は，しもべたちと家畜を家に避難させた．

And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.

And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.

So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.

しかし，主のことばを心に留めなかった者は，しもべたちや家畜をそのまま野に殘した．

そこで主はモ ― セに仰せられた．「あなたの手を天に向けて差し伸ばせ．そうすれば，エジプト全土にわたって，人， ¿，またエジプトの地のすべての野の草の上に音が降る．」

モ ― セが杖を天に向けて差し伸ばすと，主は雷と音を送り，火が地に向かって走った．主はエジプトの國に音を降らせた．

音が降り，音のただ中を火がひらめき渡った．建國以來エジプトの國中どこにもそのようなことのなかった，きわめて激しいものであった．

音はエジプト全土にわたって，人をはじめ ¿に至るまで，野にいるすべてのものを打ち，また野の草をみな打った．野の木もことごとく打ち ¿いた．

Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.

And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.

And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the LORD's.

But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God.

ただ，イスラエル人が住むゴシェンの地には，音は降らなかった．

そこでパロは使いをやって，モ ― セとアロンを呼び寄せ，彼らに言った．「今度は，私は罪を犯した．主は正しいお方だ．私と私の民は惡者だ．

主に祈ってくれ．神の雷と音は，もうたくさんだ．私はおまえたちを行かせよう．おまえたちはもう，とどまってはならない．」

モ ― セは彼に言った．「私が町を出たら，すぐに主に向かって手を伸べ廣げましょう．そうすれば雷はやみ，音はもう降らなくなりましょう．この地が主のものであることをあなたが知るためです．

しかし，あなたとあなたの家臣が，まだ，神である主を恐れていないことを，私は知っています．」

And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.

But the wheat and the rie were not smitten: for they were not grown up.

And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the LORD: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.

And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.

And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses.

··亞麻と大麥は打ち倒された．大麥は穗を出し，亞麻はつぼみをつけていたからである．

しかし小麥とスペルト小麥は打ち倒されなかった．これらは實るのがおそいからである． ··

モ ― セはパロのところを去り，町を出て，主に向かって兩手を伸べ廣げた．すると，雷と音はやみ，雨はもう地に降らなくなった．

パロは雨と音と雷がやんだのを見たとき，またも罪を犯し，彼とその家臣たちは强情になった．

パロの心はかたくなになり，彼はイスラエル人を行かせなかった．主がモ ― セを通して言われたとおりである．

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:

And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.

And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.

Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:

And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:

主はモ ― セに仰せられた．「パロのところに行け．わたしは彼とその家臣たちを强情にした．それは，わたしがわたしのこれらのしるしを彼らの中に，行なうためであり，

わたしがエジプトに對して力を ¿かせたあのことを，また，わたしが彼らの中で行なったしるしを，あなたが息子や孫に語って聞かせるためであり，わたしが主であることを，あなたがたが知るためである．」

モ ― セとアロンはパロのところに行って，彼に言った．「ヘブル人の神，主はこう仰せられます．『いつまでわたしの前に身を低くすることを拒むのか．わたしの民を行かせ，彼らをわたしに仕えさせよ．

もし，あなたが，わたしの民を行かせることを拒むなら，見よ，わたしはあす，いなごをあなたの領土に送る．

いなごが地の面をおおい，地は見えなくなる．また，音の害を免れて，あなたがたに殘されているものを食い盡くし，野に生えているあなたがたの木をみな食い盡くす．

And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.

And Pharaoh's servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?

And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?

And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.

And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.

またあなたの家とすべての家臣の家，および全エジプトの家に滿ちる．このようなことは，あなたの先祖たちも，そのまた先祖たちも，彼らが地上にあった日からきょうに至るまで，かつて見たことのないものであろう．』」こうして彼は身を返してパロのもとを去った．

家臣たちはパロに言った．「いつまでこの者は私たちを陷れるのですか．この男たちを行かせ，彼らの神，主に仕えさせてください．エジプトが滅びるのが，まだおわかりにならないのですか．」

モ ― セとアロンはパロのところに連れ戾された．パロは彼らに言った．「行け．おまえたちの神，主に仕えよ．だが，いったいだれが行くのか．」

モ ― セは答えた．「私たちは若い者や年寄りも連れて行きます．息子や娘も，羊の群れも牛の群れも連れて行きます．私たちは主の祭りをするのですから．」

パロは彼らに言った．「私がおまえたちとおまえたちの幼子たちとを行かせるくらいなら，主がおまえたちとともにあるように，とでも言おう．見ろ．惡意はおまえたちの顔に表われている．

Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.

And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

And the locust went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.

For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.

そうはいかない．さあ，壯年の男だけ行って，主に仕えよ．それがおまえたちの求めていることだ．」こうして彼らをパロの前から追い出した．

主はモ ― セに仰せられた．「あなたの手をエジプトの地の上に差し伸ばせ．いなごの大群がエジプトの地を襲い，その國のあらゆる草木，音の殘したすべてのものを食い盡くすようにせよ．」

モ ― セはエジプトの地の上に杖を差し伸ばした．主は終日終夜その地の上に東風を吹かせた．朝になると東風がいなごの大群を運んで來た．

いなごの大群はエジプト全土を襲い，エジプト全域にとどまった．實におびただしく，こんないなごの大群は，前にもなかったし，このあとにもないであろう．

それらは全地の面をおおったので，地は暗くなった．それらは，地の草木も，音を免れた木の實も，ことごとく食い盡くした．エジプト全土にわたって，綠色は木にも野の草にも少しも殘らなかった．

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.

Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.

And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.

And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.

But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.

パロは急いでモ ― セとアロンを呼び出して言った．「私は，おまえたちの神，主とおまえたちに對して罪を犯した．

どうか今，もう一度だけ，私の罪を赦してくれ．おまえたちの神，主に願って，主が私から，ただこの死を取り除くようにしてくれ．」

彼はパロのところから出て，主に祈った．

すると，主はきわめて强い西の風に變えられた．風はいなごを吹き上げ，葦の海に追いやった．エジプト全域に，一匹のいなごも殘らなかった．

しかし主がパロの心をかたくなにされたので，彼はイスラエル人を行かせなかった．

And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.

And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:

They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.

And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.

主はモ ― セに仰せられた．「あなたの手を天に向けて差し伸べ，やみがエジプトの地の上に來て，やみにさわれるほどにせよ．」

モ ― セが天に向けて手を差し伸ばしたとき，エジプト全土は三日間眞っ暗やみとなった．

三日間，だれも互いに見ることも，自分の場所から立つこともできなかった．しかしイスラエル人の住む所には光があった．

パロはモ ― セを呼び寄せて言った．「行け．主に仕えよ．ただおまえたちの羊と牛は，とどめておけ．幼子はおまえたちといっしょに行ってもよい．」

モ ― セは言った．「あなた自身が私たちの手にいけにえと全燒のいけにえを與えて，私たちの神，主にささげさせなければなりません．

Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.

But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.

And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.

And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.

私たちは家畜もいっしょに連れて行きます．ひづめ一つも殘すことはできません．私たちは，私たちの神，主に仕えるためにその中から選ばなければなりません．しかも私たちは，あちらに行くまでは，どれをもって主に仕えなければならないかわからないのです．」

しかし，主はパロの心をかたくなにされた．パロは彼らを行かせようとはしなかった．

パロは彼に言った．「私のところから出て行け．私の顔を二度と見ないように氣をつけろ．おまえが私の顔を見たら，その日に，おまえは死ななければならない．」

モ ― セは言った．「結構です．私はもう二度とあなたの顔を見ません．」
