- The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
- Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
- Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
- Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
- And last of all the woman died also.

- その 日， 復活はないと 言っている サドカイ 人たちが， イエス のところに 來て， 質問して，
- 言った． 「先生． モ ― セ は『もし， ある 人が 子のないままで 死んだなら， その 弟は 兄の 妻をめとって， 兄のための 子をもうけねばならない． 』と 言いました．
- ところで， 私たちの 間に 七人兄弟がありました． 長男は 結婚しましたが， 死んで， 子がなかったので， その 妻を 弟に 殘しました．
- 次男も 三男も， 七人とも 同じようになりました．
- そして， 最後に， その 女も 死にました．

- Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
- Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
- For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
- But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
- I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

- すると 復活の 際には， その 女は 七人のうちだれの 妻なのでしょうか． 彼らはみな， その 女を 妻にしたのです． 」
- しかし， イエス は 彼らに 答えて 言われた． 「そんな 思い 違いをしているのは， 聖書も 神の 力も 知らないからです．
- 復活の 時には， 人はめとることも， とつぐこともなく， 天の 御使いたちのようです．
- それに， 死人の 復活については， 神があなたがたに 語られた 事を， あなたがたは 讀んだことがないのですか．
- 『わたしは， アブラハム の 神， イサク の 神， ヤコブ の 神である． 』とあります． 神は 死んだ 者の 神ではありません． 生きている 者の 神です． 」

- And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

- 群衆はこれを 聞いて， イエス の 敎えに 驚いた．
