- And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
- Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.
- For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
- And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.
- And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

- 主は モ ― セ に 告げて 仰せられた．
- 「イスラエル 人に， 引き 返すように 言え． そして ミグドル と 海の 間にある ピ · ハヒロテ に 面した バアル · ツェフォン の 手前で 宿營せよ． あなたがたは， それに 向かって 海邊に 宿營しなければならない．
- パロ は イスラエル 人について， 『彼らはあの 地で 迷っている． 荒野は 彼らを 閉じ ¿めてしまった． 』と 言うであろう．
- わたしは パロ の 心をかたくなにし， 彼が 彼らのあとを 追えば， パロ とその 全軍勢を 通してわたしは 榮光を 現わし， エジプト はわたしが 主であることを 知るようになる． 」そこで イスラエル 人はそのとおりにした．
- 民の 逃げたことが エジプト の 王に 告げられると， パロ とその 家臣たちは 民についての 考えを 變えて 言った． 「われわれはいったい 何ということをしたのだ． イスラエル を 去らせてしまい， われわれに 仕えさせないとは． 」

- And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:
- And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
- And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.
- But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.
- And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

- そこで パロ は 戰車を 整え， 自分でその 軍勢を 率い，
- えり 拔きの 戰車六百と エジプト の 全戰車を， それぞれ 補佐官をつけて 率いた．
- 主が エジプト の 王 パロ の 心をかたくなにされたので， パロ は イスラエル 人を 追跡した． しかし イスラエル 人は 臆することなく 出て 行った．
- それで エジプト は 彼らを 追跡した． パロ の 戰車の 馬も， 騎兵も， 軍勢も， ことごとく， バアル · ツェフォン の 手前， ピ · ハヒロテ で， 海邊に 宿營している 彼らに 追いついた．
- パロ は 近づいていた． それで， イスラエル 人が 目を 上げて 見ると， なんと， エジプト 人が 彼らのあとに 迫っているではないか． イスラエル 人は 非常に 恐れて， 主に 向かって 叫んだ．

- And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
- Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
- And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
- The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
- And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

- そして モ ― セ に 言った． 「エジプト には 墓がないので， あなたは 私たちを 連れて 來て， この 荒野で， 死なせるのですか． 私たちを エジプト から 連れ 出したりして， いったい 何ということを 私たちにしてくれたのです．
- 私たちが エジプト であなたに 言ったことは， こうではありませんでしたか． 『私たちのことはかまわないで， 私たちを エジプト に 仕えさせてください． 』事實， エジプト に 仕えるほうがこの 荒野で 死ぬよりも 私たちには 良かったのです． 」
- それで モ ― セ は 民に 言った． 「恐れてはいけない． しっかり 立って， きょう， あなたがたのために 行なわれる 主の 救いを 見なさい． あなたがたは， きょう 見る エジプト 人をもはや 永久に 見ることはできない．
- 主があなたがたのために 戰われる． あなたがたは 默っていなければならない． 」
- 主は モ ― セ に 仰せられた． 「なぜあなたはわたしに 向かって 叫ぶのか． イスラエル 人に 前進するように 言え．

- But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
- And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
- And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
- And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
- And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

- あなたは， あなたの 杖を 上げ， あなたの 手を 海の 上に 差し 伸ばし， 海を 分けて， イスラエル 人が 海の 眞中のかわいた 地を 進み 行くようにせよ．
- 見よ． わたしは エジプト 人の 心をかたくなにする． 彼らがそのあとからはいって 來ると， わたしは パロ とその 全軍勢， 戰車と 騎兵を 通して， わたしの 榮光を 現わそう．
- パロ とその 戰車とその 騎兵を 通して， わたしが 榮光を 現わすとき， エジプト はわたしが 主であることを 知るのだ． 」
- ついで イスラエル の 陣營の 前を 進んでいた 神の 使いは， 移って， 彼らのあとを 進んだ． それで， 雲の 柱は 彼らの 前から 移って， 彼らのうしろに 立ち，
- エジプト の 陣營と イスラエル の 陣營との 間にはいった． それは 眞暗な 雲であったので， 夜を 迷い ¿ませ， 一晩中， 一方が 他方に 近づくことはなかった．

- And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
- And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
- And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
- And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,
- And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

- そのとき， モ ― セ が 手を 海の 上に 差し 伸ばすと， 主は 一晩中强い 東風で 海を 退かせ， 海を 陸地とされた． それで 水は 分かれた．
- そこで， イスラエル 人は 海の 眞中のかわいた 地を， 進んで 行った． 水は 彼らのために 右と 左で 壁となった．
- エジプト 人は 追いかけて 來て， パロ の 馬も 戰車も 騎兵も， みな 彼らのあとから 海の 中にはいって 行った．
- 朝の 見張りのころ， 主は 火と 雲の 柱のうちから エジプト の 陣營を 見おろし， エジプト の 陣營をかき 亂された．
- その 戰車の 車輪をはずして， 進むのを 困難にされた． それで エジプト 人は 言った． 「イスラエル 人の 前から 逃げよう． 主が 彼らのために， エジプト と 戰っておられるのだから． 」

- And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
- And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
- And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
- But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
- Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

- このとき 主は モ ― セ に 仰せられた． 「あなたの 手を 海の 上に 差し 伸べ， 水が エジプト 人と， その 戰車， その 騎兵の 上に 返るようにせよ． 」
- モ ― セ が 手を 海の 上に 差し 伸べたとき， 夜明け 前に， 海がもとの 狀態に 戾った． エジプト 人は 水が 迫って 來るので 逃げたが， 主は エジプト 人を 海の 眞中に 投げ ¿まれた．
- 水はもとに 戾り， あとを 追って 海にはいった パロ の 全軍勢の 戰車と 騎兵をおおった． 殘された 者はひとりもいなかった．
- イスラエル 人は 海の 眞中のかわいた 地を 步き， 水は 彼らのために， 右と 左で 壁となったのである．
- こうして， 主はその 日 イスラエル を エジプト の 手から 救われた． イスラエル は 海邊に 死んでいる エジプト 人を 見た．

- And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.

- イスラエル は 主が エジプト に 行なわれたこの 大いなる 御力を 見たので， 民は 主を 恐れ， 主とそのしもべ モ ― セ を 信じた．
